June 17 2015. Made the best pass so far in this car. 10.68 @ 132. 5 Speed Tremec Faceplate! Just recently changed to faceplate and love it. Car is the same car in the other videos in my list. Been running high 10's for years we did some changing in the tune and some chassis cage (finally) seem to hook way better. Car has stock block still original block from 1990 lol. 140k miles as shown in the other videos. Stock cam 1.72 rockers w/ rebuilt junkyard GT40 heads and GT40 explorer intake. We faceplated the tremec seems to like it! This is a modified ON3 turbo kit w/ a master power 70/81 AR turbo. Its the older brazillian turbo before they changed to Comp Turbo. Made 520/600 on the dyno 2 weeks ago. Placed 4th in the NMRA stick division this past weekend June 11-14 at Norwalk Ohio. BEFORE ANYONE COMMENTS "HOW LONG DID THAT MOTOR LAST YOU" THIS IS YEAR #5 ON THE SAME SHORTBLOCK AT THIS POWER LEVEL. WAS RUNNING 11.0s AND HIGH 10.90's FOR 3-4 YEARS. I HAVE NEVER DETONATED THE MOTOR AND ITS A VERY GOOD CUSTOM DIALED IN TUNE.

I knew a guy back in the day when I was running on the street that had a bone stock bottom end with a few bolt on' s AND a 300 shot of N2O. He also had gears and street slicks and would launch at 5500rpm and spray out the gate!!! It was a BEAST...for 6 passes!!! On the 7th launch, his rods were on the street!! ☺ahhh, what fun times!!!

That's our Ford. We can brag about stock parts.
Damn near have the same setup as you, 91 coupe, Stock E7's with ARP studs(stock valve springs..I think power started to drop off after like 4700rpm my tuner said), Explorer intake, Professional Products 70mm TB, 42lb injectors, VMP BA5000 MAF. It made like 430/480ish at 12lbs. You can't beat these turbo stock 302 setups :P fun little street cars..
masimpson86 Long as they stay under 6000 ish RPM's they actually last pretty long. I have sense decided that all my blocks get decked and pressure tested when I build the stock block turbos. We built another just like it (the blue GT in my other videos) and it didn't like the same boost level as I lifted a head once. So figured I got lucky with a good deck with the blk gt here in this video. Its a crap shoot tho. Not all blocks need a perfect surface but spend the time to do so on engine build will ensure success

Wow that is impressive to say the least! I have built a very similar setup as yours but I went with the cx racing turbo setup and have yet to get to the track and see what it will do. Hopefully it will run as quick. If you get a chance look up cx racing 76mm turbo foxbody I am the bright blue mustang. I have tried a couple of computers and settled on the sds stand alone and so far love it. Thanks for the vids!

Thx! It’s a simple fix really. Use an Sn95 cable. It’s 10” longer than a fox and allows to route away from headers. Wrap them for extra protection

What suspension setup you have on here? I'm doing a stock motor On3 67mm with a built AOD. I need to put suspension on it and was leaning towards the Team Z setup with anti roll bar.

Royce Johnson Yes. I modified the On3 kit quite a bit sense. Better wastegate. Master power 70mm turbo (the old upgrade they used to carry) and did some welding and new crossover flange.
Hey neo, got an 85 gt, 28inch tire, t5 trans, ported explorer heads. Im doing a 70mm single turbo blow thru setup. Im trying to figure out the best rear gear set for the 8.8... i have a set of 3.08 and 3.55, but i keep hearing 3.27 or 3.31. Any suggestions ?

I have a 306 with a truck flow cam stage 2 and on 3
76/65 . The boost starts at 3k and continues past 6k . Is that normal ? I can not see how I can cut a good 60 ft like this. Stick shift t5. If I rev to 3 k and dump clutch it doesn’t seem to pick up like I think it should .

Stock rods, crank, pistons, rings, hell thats the original motor! Gt40 heads tho.. which are production. This was a street driven full weight full interior 10 second street car. Always was. Did it cheap and effectively. Go check out project hotwheels in my channel. IT TRUMPED this.. with less parts lmao

With a quarterhorse laptop and a Dyno. After we figure a tune we burn a chip and run it in the back of the Ecu

Aj Amezcua they are virtually identical heads
They are not identical heads especially when running boost through them. The P heads have a smaller combustion chamber which ups your compression a little which means you'll have to run less boost. Less boost is not good. I'd step over P heads to pick up regular 3 bar Explorer heads every time (because I'm boosted). Spark plug angle on P heads make plug wires and headers a little more of a headache too.

@@Neomustangs so have the heads re drilled to accept the fatter bolts? I think the 5.0 7/16. How much of a gain in flow and valve size is there to be had from replacing the regular 5.0ho heads with the gt40s is it substantial?
No 351s are 1/2 holes and bolts or studs. so you would need to drill the heads to fit and match. 302s are only 7/16. And...It’s about 20-30 over stock. See when people see alum heads gain “80-100” hp that rating doesn’t include what the stock heads make.

Knew it had to be race fuel, doing my first turbo build here soon and everything I’ve seen and gathered from researching if you want it to live you run race fuel. Seen a guy run 8s on a sbe 350 and it survive. Mine will be a stock block as well but I plan on running 116.

BLACKLACDTS Honestly if you have a stock block putting 1.72 cobra pedestal rockers on the block w/ a stock cam works just fine. People don't give the credit where its due on stock cams. Those are good turbo cams for stock block builds. Makes all its power under 6000 and keeps the block alive yes. When tuned well. Turbo cam might give you an edge but I wouldn't even think of trying one unless I went with like AFR 185 heads or Trickflow 190's to compensate for the extra flow. Stock block with stock heads and/or GT40 explorer heads (cast iron) don't need more cam.

I wouldn't touch a saleen with this setup. Saleens are very hard to find. I would sell that to a collector for good money and start over with a base model GT/LX coupe if you can find it
