That’s it, the rest of this is just telling you to stop reading. ... why are you reading this, did you not read that last bit? Stop reading this, it’s not important. I said stop it, do you not know how to follow directions? Move on to the next comment or video or whatever. Seriously why have you read this far? But for real, why do you keep reading if you *know* that there is nothing left to know? I will tell you why, it’s because the human mind is hardwired to complete things. The brain will constantly use up energy subconsciously thinking about that puzzle you you didn’t get to finish yesterday, that final level you *need to get finish*, that thing you didn’t get to say to your friend last time you say them, the list goes on. This is easily one of the catchiest games songs I’ve ever heard. I wasn’t even born when this game was made, I’m only 18 so my first experience with this game was in 2019 when I checked out one of the newer “NES classics” from the library (basically it looks like the original NES but it has HDMI and instead of using cartridges it has bunch of games loaded onto it) but when I played this game the theme was stuck in my head for the next month.
I wish I could have been alive when this was realeased. I'm a super Zelda fan, I've played all the games. I'm super duper excited for SKYWARD SWORD!!!! who else is with me?
This theme is iconic. It's on the short side compared to, say, the Super Mario Bros. Ground Theme, but it perfectly conveys the feeling of adventure through it's 8-bit NES chiptune. I love it!
The original NES cartridge of this game has sat on a shelf in my dad's office for years, and I finally got an NES, and he gave that game to me. It felt so good to plug that game into the system and breathe life back into a game that had been sitting dormant for so long. It really did feel like opening a time capsule.
5 years old putting this on, no idea about swords magic or adventure but the theme and hacking the first two monsters awoke an absolute love within and my little brain was blown to pieces, still love it now and will do a full replay every few years
This game released 19 years before I was born and only 5 years ago did I truly start playing Legend of Zelda Ever since, I’ve become such a huge fan of the series. Recently I decided to try out the original Zelda game (thanks to the NES games on the switch) and even though I wasn’t around when this game came out the music has a way to making me feel nostalgic. I’m having fun playing the game though it’s been a bit confusing at first I’m still ready to figure out the game and I can’t wait to keep playing
My first Zelda game was Link to the Past on the SNES years ago then Ocarina of Time. The recent Game and Watch re relese brought me here. Fantastic little device. Well worth the price if you've not played the 3 games on it. Sure it's slightly over priced and you could emulate for free but the package is charming and very portable.
There were weird shoots crawler things, bulldogs with spears, dogs with bones in their mouths, ocean robots, living drills, ghosts, and annoying fireflies
I remember growing up with a 3ds, most of the games i played where from the nes or snes since they where cheap, so even if Ididnt play the original, trying to to explore and know what to do, didnt get to finish it until some months ago on the Nintendo switch, so this was practically all that was playing when i played. (also a bit of the dungeons theme and a lot of the game over screen because it was very peacefull)
Same. But Dad played this game for my eldest brother that passed away long ago. But I want to get a Switch to play Link's Awakening, and Breath of the Wild.
A few years back, I went into the game with only a few tips and tricks and pieces of advice to my knowledge of the game, along with in general how the game was gonna play out. I memorized the entire map by myself just walking around. And I beat both first quest and second quest without any additional help, except for having to look up the existence of fake non-bomb walls (I SWEAR I pushed up against that wall in Dungeon 4 before I looked it up, why did it not work then?) and having to look up the fact that you can use the flute to reveal entrances on screens other than lakes. I also memorized Level 9 for both first quest and second quest without help. It was really difficult, though. I had to make a multitude of trips to the old lady and to fairy fountains, and still died a whole bunch in there. All in all, the game was so much fun! I absolutely loved every moment of it!
While many of the games after this one became unforgettable icons in their own right, this installment is just too big of a textbook classic icon to not be considered my favorite in the franchise.
I work at a lab and we have a machine that transports serum gel tubes from one department to another (imagine a big hot wheel track throughout the entire lab) and it plays this while it transports them. So this rack full of specimens just blasts this while making its way from processing to molecular
Camping out in the corner of dads new video store playing this while he built and stocked shelves. You can never really go back, but to play this again for the very first time when it was new to the world, I'd be willing to try. Really wish I would have kept my gold cartridge though.
Ah man don't get started with this game LOL! i was never able to beat Zelda when I was kid I played Zelda II as well adventure of Link i love the challenge and the catchy tunes on this game this music and the Dungeon theme as well and that Golden cartridge!
I actually remember where I was when we rang the Nintendo Hotline to find the dungeon entrance for Dungeon 8. I found secrets along the way from seeing other people's game files etc or things read in a magazine. Like how did they get that hole in the cliff? I started bombing every cliff face from that point on haha.

Koji Kondo is amazing.
That makes perfect sense!
Makes total sense. There are parts that I consider really catchy, and when I listen to this I always wait for these parts to play.
The gist for why this works so well is a march tempo that goes well with the action on screen on top of modulating between major and minor modes.

me: Wait a minute SKYWARD SWORD THAT WAS YEARS AGO
I didn't know what to do for half an hour until my dad took the controller
It was the greatest to have been alive at that time.
My brother played this game all the way until the end. The nostalgia hits hard.
How can a simple tune like this sound so freakin' EPIC?

That sword beam would be excellent for physical distancing.

My grandpa still has an original NES so i play zelda all the time but this theme is probably the BEST part of the game.
This song is probably one of the best songs for inspiring adventure.
