So glad Mrs C. became her own person in the end. Gentle but determined assertion always wins the day.
Agreed and yes it always does, at least most of the time! Thanks for listening! Please subscribe if you haven't already. TY -Amanda 👋
A synopsis would be very helpful and many people have asked for this. It would be such a helpful addition to your site instead of the rah rah against the bbc
These plays are excellent. One can gently fall asleep listening to one or, like today, make a few hours drive far more enjoyable. Thank you.
Or go into a trance listening, and lo and behold the dishes are all done.
Thank you so much for putting this play on for us……..I used to listen to Saturday Night Theatre in the 70s , never missed it…then Alister Cooke Sunday morning….
A good, though rather sad, portrayal of the tensions, affections, and disappointments of family life, which anyone who has reached Mrs C's age will relate to. A very interesting play. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it thanks again for listening! 👋
I’ve never looked back and I’m never angry - Love that line!
You're right, that IS a great line! Thanks for the listen! 😉

Much appreciated!
Her son is a very good example of how men don't listen.
🤣👍 Thank YOU for listening! And have a great Monday! Happy Halloween 🎃
Though in fairness to the son, he seems to be a driven, hyper-conscientious type who has lost his adored wife (who was maybe the stabilising force in his life?) and can't find anyone with whom he can share the intensity of his grief. Not an ideal mental state in which to be trying to guide young adult children.
I love this story except for Mandy’s voice.
Great play except, yes,, her voice was so off putting & ridiculous. It’s usually a disaster when adults try and play children.
I didn't enjoy this quite so much. The plot was depressing.
Those irritating plummy accents.
