The building industry is one of those ever changing environments that is continually looking to incorporate sustainable methods. Charlie has an interest in building so he's off to find out about some of the sustainable methods of building that are available today.
He discovers that weatherboards are no longer always made of timber, that a recycled plastic version saves trees and is low maintenance. But it's not just the outside of our homes that can make a sustainable and environmentally friendly difference. Charlie finds out there are a whole raft of ways to create a sustainable home from the likes of low flow showers that reduce water use to insulation that reduces electricity consumption.
If you've got good maths skills, a keen eye for detail and enjoy hard work in a team environment, then carpentry could be just the job for you.
