I had a pair of the black patent leather flight 89s when I was on my high school basketball team. I used to get a new pair of sneaks every season but I wore those for two years straight even tho the second year my entire team was wearing those space jam Jordan's. I wore them until they fell apart and now they don't make them anymore. I wish I would have bought like 6 pairs when I had the chance. They need to bring the black patent leather flight 89s back now
Word! They were a great basketball shoe back in the day! Great grip and more collar padding than the jordan 4. I would say overall more comfortable than an AJ 4. Hoping someone at nike gets wind of this video and reads our comments haha. Appreciate the response! Take care.
I liked the black patent leather shoes in high school. Would see friends of mine wear them.
@@tripplerich Cool shoes. Are you selling the air flight 89's? What size are they?
@@FrankPedraza-hz1hr hey thanks for reaching out! They are available for sale and they are sz10! Would that size work for you?
Another fire video brozay. I enjoyed this
The flight 89 looks better than the J4.
A man of culture! Thanks for backing me up bro! 😅🤝
@@tripplerichmy favorite sneaker of all time.
@@tripplerichyear I was born.
@@supermcfly100 same here! #89boyz 😎
@@supermcfly100 its an awesome shoe man. It’s cool to see some recent collabs but personally I think the new cuts look weird. They are like “lowmids” lol. (Pj Tucker and stussy collabs) The mid 89’ like in this video are the best!
The stussy 89s with the snake skin fire
Maybe they will grow on me as more product pictures come out before the release. From what I have seen so far, the cut seems a little off than the midcut i am used to.
@@tripplerich they dropped today. The brown color way the best. But they are GONE
@@AsLittleDesignAsPossible wow, guess this video came out right on time, super satisfying to hear they sold out though. Yeah the brown complemented the snakeskin the best.
Amen! The Air Flight 89 is ridiculously underrated, astonishingly overlooked & most definitely underappreciated...it was such a popular sneaker back in the early 90's amongst hoopers yet that style & design was so great it transcended to people wearing it as a lifestyle sneaker. I guess with time & the sheer amount of different shoes & marketing campaigns Nike Basketball was pushing out during that 90's era the Air Flight 89 kinda got lost & forgotten.
Great video BTW..its my first time on your channel & really enjoyed this video. Hope you keep bringing out more content
I really appreciate the comment! Glad someone else knows what I am talking about! Trying to bring them to the light.
I definitely got some more heat on the way. Stay locked in! 😎🤝
*Maybe, but it won't cause back then Players weren't self driven like Jordan at the End of The Day*
Thats a good point, you can’t really pinpoint a specific individual who championed the shoe, so it makes it harder for the model to become iconic.
@tripplerich *same time Scottie Pippen did debut wearing the shoe along side when Jordan was doing his thing and his impact alone then was 2 much*
@@newshoesab22 Charles Barkley also wore these for a few, but those two went on to make their own silhouettes famous and never looked back at the Flight ‘89. I guess this is one of those niche models for those deep in their basketball and shoe knowledge.
@tripplerich *you ain't lying*
Air Flight 89s More Comfortable Than The Jordan 4s
I just ordered the "dark obsidian" flight 89 because I missed the blue 4s
Nice man! I think Flight 89s are more comfortable personally! Were you able to catch a restock of the military blue 4s though? I have a few size in military let me know if you’re interested.
Thanks for the comment! Cheers,
Yes they do
Word! If you know, you know! 🫡
These new kids don't know their sneaker history.
My guyyy! Appreciate that comment!🤝
They don’t have a clue. I’m just out here trying to do God’s work and educate the youths! 😅
I always thought these were the poor man's 3s 😂😂😂😂😂. But they were always fire. The white and navy joints are my favorite.
