I don't know much about EVHs guitars quite honestly but I had a Kramer Pacer from the factory in New Jersey that was solid maple with a Floyd serial # Art Deco 2 The neck was like half a baseball bat, 1 JB pick up. It sustained forever
That was some nice guitar playing brother i made my own hopped up strat it was white stock with a tremolo. I put a Dimarzio x2n in the bridge slanted and a 1968 stock fender strat pick up in the neck and Kahler blue bridge in it she is sweet good video.
The basswood bodies will present problems around the floyd rose mounting studs as time goes by. Basswood is ABSOLUTELY too soft to hold up to abuse. The maple tops on the Wolfgangs are the saving grace to those models, but depending on the actual density and growth ring width on the basswood used on Franky models (all versions) also including the Bumble Bee, the wood around the mounting studs will give way. As an ex. Look at all of the Charvel strats from the '80's that have this problem. Unlike the San Dimas models (mainly Alder) these mass produced Charvels were all basswood, and those tremolo studs (Jackson) are very often shifted due to the woods softness. So, regardless of the lack of pickup options on these EVH guitars, the wood is the main issue. Imo ALL models should be made of the same wood Ed became FAMOUS for..... ASH ! (with possibly Alder or poplar being an option as well).
did evh mess up? or maybe a marketing thing for us to talk about it because let's face it, those who want a stripey thing (like me) already have one. maybe they wanted us to bring free attention to evh by this new non stripe model. this is similar to stones mag and their silly top 250 list. either way here we are giving them free marketing by my reply and your video. they are rich, we are not, who's laughing all the way to the bank?
They made that white guitar because another company was selling them, and making money. Same with the relic stripe series. Another company was selling relic jobs to make them look like Franky. Aperantely, Fender doesn't want that sort of competition.
I wouldn't buy one I'd just build one out of guitar bits. The EVH frank is Eddie's creation why screw with it I think that's disrespectful to Eddie why mess with his legacy.
Just my opinion, but buying a “relic-ed” guitar is as phony as Milli Vanilli. You’re pretending as though you’ve played it so much that the relic is really just from normal wear and tear when nothing could be further from the truth. Plus, you’ve got to be stupid to pay extra to have someone ruin a perfectly brand new guitar. At the very least, you could save money and destroy it in your own. But that’s still fake and phony.
If it’s an Eddie Van Halen replica, deal with a single pickup and volume pot. Otherwise buy a San Dimas and call it a day. And yes totally agree the Wolfgang is one ugly guitar. Even on gig night your audience will squint at that ugly guitar.
They did make it other colors and options, they call it "Charvel"
GAAAAAARRRRREEEEEEE!! Miss our chats in Palm Beach. Greetings from Vietnam buddy! Pull My Finger is still getting airtime in my head,
As an EVH/HSS Superstrat/Charvel fan, I agree. Hopefully EVH will consider and release a budget multifunctional white relic Superstrat.

Love the guitar sweet tone it’s Definitely in your fingers
A dummy pickup would be better without a magnet, for no magnetic pull.

Buy a charvel socal mod
dot see the point of a beat up guitar especially if one is trademarked by a legendary guitar
Why don’t you also put a working pickup in the middle too? More versatility.
Get an EVH 5150 series guitar. It's got everything you're asking for. Relic it yourself by playing it. Stop complaining.
