I have no idea who you are but if you are still on CZcams I really appreciate you for making this video. I would have never in a million years found that tray. Thank you sooooooooo very much!...
Okay. I have a Canon TS9020 and get the same code. At least I now understand what a "paper output tray" is. But this printer is a little different... ah hah. I found it! I found the tray and was able to pull it out! Thank you. What a PITA! Geez, you would think Canon could supply decent written instructions with their products. Your video is a life-saver!
Thank you, Karen; you saved my sanity! Worked around IT for two decades, NEVER had this issue before. Thanks for reducing my swearing time to just the one hour 😉
OMG!!!! Thanks so much for the info. I kept pulling the paper tray out and still got an error. I refilled my paper so it was full, unplugged the printer and let it sit and tried everything. Guess they need to be more specific when they say the Paper tray! You are a life saver!! I too was ready to throw this darn printer out!!!
THANK YOU! Unnecessarily complicated design and Canon doesn't have good answers on the forums or support so it's up to people in the community to help each other.
Thank you Karen! I too, was pushing the paper tray in and out, unplugging my printer and becoming frustrated not understanding what the heck was wrong. But now that you show me and I actually READ "output" paper tray, I get it! Not that I would have gotten it without reading your post. Thanks again.
Helping people from ripping their hair out for over a decade…nice work❤. Before checking this video, the printer was getting launched into my back yard…office space style. Thank you
Karen, thank you. I was beginning to think I was loosing it altogether! You saved me hours of trying to figure this out! You will received blessings from 10,000 miles afar!!!
Thaaaaaaaaaaaank Youuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!! I was getting SO frustrated! The picture on the screen looks so much like the paper input tray. I kept pulling that out not understanding how that would fix the issue and then, of course, the machine telling me to do it again. Helps to understand just what exactly I’m supposed to pull out, lol. Thank you again!
I looked up the manual for the 1250 error code and it didn't give me shit, except to tell me the paper tray wasn't out. THANK YOU. Canon needs to put you on their payroll.
+Christian Cameron You are certainly welcome, I wanted to pull my hair out and scream when I first got it....and hence the purpose to help people with this...video...lol
Thank you so much! I was going crazy because my printer kept saying the paper output tray was closed, which I had apparently done inadvertently. I also thought the feeder was the paper output tray. You have saved my day!
Thank you SO much. I have just installed new cartridges and had a problem with these, only to find once this was solved this other out tray problem arose. Thank goodness there are people like you who take the trouble to post solutions!!
Thanks!! I spent an hour and almost ruined my printer messing with top tray until I came across your video. No one anywhere explained it like you did....I didn’t even know the part was there! The other videos ( even Cannons) didn’t mention that part. Thanks for taking the time to do a video for us!!
Thank you for this! I bought my printer weeks ago second hand and couldn't figure it out until this video! I was starting to think I bought a faulty printer!
Oh my GOD. I've just spent about an hour on the internet trying to figure out why my printer wasn't working despite the stupid paper tray being down. I can't believe I didn't think of that little flap thingy. Thank you so much!
Oh, Kay!!!!! you saved me a repair cost or from buying a new printer. I was just before sending it out to someone to repair...… Thank you so much for your video. Thankful I listened to a friend to do a search of "How to ….." I also, had just bought fresh ink cartridges...… Grateful.... thanks again,
Oh how you weren't lying about getting frustrated. They could be a little more clearer on their instructions. Thanks so much for you video. I was ready to throw this thing out.
I imagine the frustration...lol I thought I had managed my patience just until I bought this printer. I wanted to throw it to the ground, that's how bad I had it 😂
Karen! Thank you! I never would have found it. The instructions were good until that point. I couldn't find a thing to show where the output tray was. That stupid thing in the back was a bear too--sadly, lots of these instructions are written in other countries (found that out with my Zenith TV).
Thank you! The manual actually shows the image of the feeder extension thingy, but your video helped me find what is actually the paper output tray! Thank you!!!!
I love you, Karen (because you fixed my problem). I spent an hour or more trying to figure this out after getting an 1851 error on my TS8020. (I put this info here so that others with my model will see that your video applies to this model.) Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you!!!! I spent a few days trying to figure this out and called Canon for support and then took it back to the store as faulty and bought a new one...same issue. Then watching your video I see WHERE the stupid output tray IS. Thank you
THANK YOU!!!!! Talk about non-intuitive... I got this printer second-hand and had no manual... and I thought I was going to go crazy trying to make it print.
Thanks if I had only found your site 2 hours ago. I note there are hundreds of people with the same problem commenting on your video So world wide frustration must be enormous
You saved my life!!!! I’ve spent last weekend trying to fix it, came back again today and was so frustrated to the point of thinking to resell my new not so used printer or go out there look for a printer mechanic!!! Thankyou so much! ❤ for putting this video out here 😘
OH MY GOODNESS !! Yes, it took me at least an hour for pulling out the tray that's loaded with paper, pulling it in and 100 times and getting the same code. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Don't know why I didn't look here first. Big sigh . . .
Thank you so much for this video. My in-laws just bought this printer and I could *not* find this so-called paper output tray. I've been working with computers for 28 years and I work in IT. If I can't find this thing, then they went out of their way to hide it. This was the first result of a Google search. I think there's a reason for that. :)
Thank you so very much, not quite as long as you in time , but, i can here my Brother (passed over, bless him) whos printer it is / was, stood there laughing at me, , bless him. Thank you once again. Terry with some hair still Brown and not Grey
OMG. Laughing at myself. Comedy is the ideal category. Bit of a joke the instructions on the Canon website don't have an image. I thought the paper input tray was the output tray too Initially. I was ready to pull out my hair. Thanks to you I do not have bald spots. Big thanks to you for taking the time out.
OMG thank you! I've had this printer for over a year and I have never used it because of random stupid issues like this. I was ready to throw this printer out but you saved me. Thank you again!
Similar to others who have commented - THANK YOU!!! I spent ages trying to figure this out from the Canon manual and support site. This video solved my problem in 30 seconds. I could hug you :)
Thank you so much you have saved me from so much frustration haha! Cheers from Northern Ireland. (they should really change the name of the output tray)
+Ryan Weir yes they should name it, "hidden little door thing" lol! I'm glad my video is helping people hundreds of miles away with their printer. Much love from Houston, Texas
Thank you so much for this video. i have been unbelievably frustrated trying to figure this out. You have saved me from having to endure the eye rolling from my teenage sn if I had to ask him for help.
Yes OMG...I also spend about an hour trying to figure out the problem. Thank you...thank you...thank you for uploading this video. There must have been hundreds of people with this issue as I have seen on the internet. !! I had closed the tray to clean my desk. You can figure out the rest...:((
I have no idea who you are but if you are still on CZcams I really appreciate you for making this video. I would have never in a million years found that tray. Thank you sooooooooo very much!...
Huge thanks, Karen, I was just about to return the printer and ask for my money back - many thanks for posting the video

Thank you! It was more than frustrating, but your video solved the problem instantly.
OMG!!!! Thanks so much for the info. I kept pulling the paper tray out and still got an error. I refilled my paper so it was full, unplugged the printer and let it sit and tried everything. Thanx so much! I thought I was getting really stupid!! U saved me 2-3 hours returning the printer, and now I will know for next time. Thank u!
Karen, thank you. I was beginning to think I was loosing it altogether! You saved me hours of trying to figure this out! You will received blessings from 10,000 miles afar!!!

You are my savior. I am fortunate finding your video. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!
I looked up the manual for the 1250 error code and it didn't give me shit, except to tell me the paper tray wasn't out. THANK YOU. Canon needs to put you on their payroll.
Thank you so much! Spent way too much time trying to figure this out myself!
I just want to thank you. You saved me dozens of uses of 4 letter words.
+Christian Cameron You are certainly welcome, I wanted to pull my hair out and scream when I first got it....and hence the purpose to help people with this...video...lol

My sister works this printer for me but she went overseas today and I had no clue what to do. You're my new sister
Thank you!! I just spent an hour trying to figure this out and should have just looked here first! Thanks!
Thank you! The manual actually shows the image of the feeder extension thingy, but your video helped me find what is actually the paper output tray!
Thank you!!!!
Thank you for this video! Your explanation helped me get past this "Error 1250" that was causing me fits.
1 minute of your video saved me from taking apart the entire printer. Thank you!
Well, I have been using this printer for 2 years and I cannot remember ever pulling this tray out, it must be my age!
Thank you for your help!
Bob H.

A huge thank you for being so kind and helping me out.
Thank you so much Kay, the printer was only seconds away from flying through the window!

Thank you. You helped me eight years later. Lol.
I can’t believe canon is still making these printers. I’m in the market for a new printer. Without a paper output tray lol
You are a lifesaver. I don't think I would have had the patience to figure it out. You get major karma points for posting!!!
I never would have figured it out and you made it humorous as well. Thanks.

Thank you so much! Such a simple thing but missing from the setup instructions so I got stuck part way during setup. No longer stuck, thanks to you :)
Thank you so much for this video. My in-laws just bought this printer and I could *not* find this so-called paper output tray. I've been working with computers for 28 years and I work in IT. If I can't find this thing, then they went out of their way to hide it.
