We thought this was a strong pilot. We are enjoying The Walking Dead so much, and seeing that world from the persepective of how it all began, is really intriguing to us.
Rick woke up and it was already over. This time, Nick woke up and it had just begun.

the blue meth theory is just a theory because both shows are on the same network, other than that not plausible because walking dead was a comic before breaking bad was a thing and the fact that the whole world is infected meaning if you die from natural causes you comeback shuts down that theory
Yay, nice one guys. Dont worry about tying FTWD and TWD together, they dont spoil each other and they dont really cross over to the point where one show is depending on the other.
Note, it's almost impossible to synchronise the shows internal timelines anyway. Dont spend too long trying to figure out if something happened in one show, when did it happen in the other? You'll get in a pickle. They dont match.

TWD gives us the Grimes, Fear gives us the Clarks. I really grew attached to Nick and Alicia in only a few episodes.
First three seasons of this series are incredible. Especially season 3.

Welcome to LA, on Day zero. i love this show because it REALLY shows just how flat-footed and "pants-down" this outbreak caught the whole damn world. PS- on this day in king county GA, Rick and Shane are having lunch and discussing "the guy gospel".
this is a reality where "night of the living dead" was never made, so they have NO IDEA what the dead coming back to life and eating the living would entail. this was "rumor and innuendo on 4chan" for a couple weeks and BOOM, now there's this popping off everywhere.
Very excited for this! Just make sure your finish season 8 of the Walking dead before you watch season 4 of this.

There are various opinions out there for Fear. But i always like hearing other people's opinions and so glad to begin hearing yours. I also think Nick was the perfect character to begin this spinoff considering his addiction.
I totally agree about Nick. With his own demons plus the apocalypse, it just makes him a very interesting character.

What's funny and interesting is how I found Fear the walking dead to be way more suspenseful than the first few seasons of TWD.

I agree. I think it's because we the audience know what the zombies can do but they don't and you are always tense when they don't know how to kill one or what kind of danger they are in. It works.

No, I’m sorry FEAR is not close to the level of TWD, the only thing that this spin-off does just as good is the directing and the camera work.

I really think fear the walking dead is underrated and has some gripping story, and for me since I read the walking dead comics I knew the plot watching fear and not knowing really made a difference
I was not expecting at all to watch Fear the walking dead, beautiful series going for season 8 and I hope you enjoy Nick Clark a lot. Beautiful character and tremendous actor, one of the best characters in the entire TWD universe.
Actually perfect time to start watching this cuz it lines up with when it released in comparison to the main show (I think FTWD season 1 came out right after season 5 and before season 6 of the main show)

I'm glad you are doing this. Season 1 -3 are great. The rest is mixed but still worth going through. I'm still watching it because I'm a completest. I really liked the cast here. Madison the mom was as you noticed also in Lost and Deadwood. A great show too. The actor who plays Nick is the son of Stephen Dillane who played Stannis Baratheon from Game of Thrones.
In total, I think the Fear cast is even a little better than the already amazing cast of the main show. And not only because of the fact that some of the Fear actors were already known before Fear.

This is where the breakout first started. This time zone is ahead of Rick and them by 5 years. Super weird and backwards yeah. But at this time Rick still haven't even got shot yet.
On average, 172,800 people die every day around the world. If all those people became walkers and attacked all the people around them - we're talking a very rapid exponetial growth of the zombie problem. Within a couple days the whole world could be overrun.

They filmed this series in Vancouver Canada where I live. It was quite funny because when they started filming Vancouver was going through a heat wave and L A had had a streak of rainy days so the people making the series commented that Vancouver looked more like LA than L A😅

Seeing the Z/A at the very beginning, actually before anyone knew wth it was, was interesting.I think I liked the 2nd season too, lol, I think I did. A note about the Breaking Bad theory:
Badger and Skinny Pete use the term "zombie" in a BB episode, which is a no-no in The Walking Dead universe. So, in my opinion, that disproves the BB/TWD theory.
I was just thinking about this I know that Breaking Bad doesn’t exist in The Walking Dead universe but it was so interesting thinking about all the events of Better Call Saul/Breaking Bad just not mattering in the grand scheme of things if the two universes coexisted
The first three seasons of Fear serves as a prequel of TWD and are set before it. Rick wakes up almost two months after the breakout. By the time Fear season 3 ends on day 64, the prime story of TWD has already begun.
The guy who plays Nick actually played the Tom Riddle in Slughorns memories in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

remember, this shows us the apocalypse from the start, while rick is in a coma. so the walkers look different i the start as they are fresher, not decomposed etc.
The whole first season of the show all takes place during the same time that Rick was still in a coma
When this first came out I was expecting it to be about a rag tag group of strangers on the west coast, but instead it was about a family. When it gets to a certain point in the seasons it does become a rag tag group. So, in my opinion, the show becomes better as it goes.

They constantly stop in the most dangerous situations to have heart felt talks or lectures, the characters all suck, especially strand and Madison. They have totally ruined Morgan and brought both Morgan and Dwight to try and get the show off life support.
I mean come on, nuclear warheads makes it a wasteland and instead of fleeing to get to better lands they all suddenly find masks and other anti radioactive gear as if it grew on trees. I could go on and on about how bad the writing is but I'm curious what exactly you think is good about that disaster of a show

Nick played Young Voldemort in Harry Potter. This takes place in LA and Tobias knew about whats happening in Atlanta. Alicia becomes a badass! Hope you like it. Some seasons will be alittle slow.
This show is amazing. First 3 season is amazing, and it dips off and gets great again, then drops. The show tries a lot of different things than TWD so if that’s what you like, then you’ll love it. But it’s very very different. I cannot wait.

I love it! I am very pleased and excited that you decided to watch "Fear". I just started about a year ago and all caught up to season 7. One of the things I liked was seeing the outbreak which we didn't get in The Walking Dead. Nick definitely looks a lot like JD. Season 3 was really good and 6 was good too. One thing about Fear is there's definitely an up and down feel but when it's good it's really freaking good

You definitely do not want to slow down the main show for this one. Pace yourself with Fear. It does become relevant and important, and I do believe watching it is the smart call. But getting too far ahead in Fear too early would be a regret.
Walking Dead for me is a steadily amazing experience, with slight dips and raises in quality. It’s my favorite show of all time. I adore it, even at its worst, which really isn’t as bad as I think people say it is.
Fear is a VERY different experience. I would even go so far as to say that Fear the Walking Dead is one of the most **unpredictable** shows ever made. There are extremely high highs, and extremely low lows. It will absolutely plummet and disappoint you, and then skyrocket into shockingly memorable and fantastic moments, and then disappoint you again, and repeat the cycle.
Just when you think something is going to happen one way, it will go the other way. Just when you think a character is safe, they won’t be safe, and just when you think a character is surely dead, they won’t be dead.
I would say be more prepared to have SOME moments you don’t like in Fear. It will be a roller coaster of quality, very differently from the main show. I’m excited to watch your journey through it!

It took me a while to get into Fear. But I grew to love it almost more than TWD in some ways. It always felt looser and weirder. Like anything can happen. And it often does. You have a wild ride in store. I'm enjoying your reactions so much! Glad you started Fear.
