  • This video introduces the Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing (JIM), which Daikin, a Japanese air conditioner manufacturer, established to foster human resources for developing the manufacturing sector in India.
In November 2016, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) of India, concluded a Memorandum of Corporation on the Manufacturing Skill Transfer Promotion Programme. Under public-private cooperation of both countries, it aims to develop 30,000 engineers in the manufacturing sector to the level of Japanese standard in ten years.
In August 2017, the Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing was established, as Daikin- a company which expands its business through manufacturing and sales in India- sympathized with the action of both governments.
