I was just about to finish college when this game came out... in fall '99. When I played it, I was at my late aunt's house in South Carolina, where I went to school, playing it with my cousins (her sons). RIP auntie, I miss you screaming at us to turn that "goddamn T.V. down," and "get off that game, 'cause y'all been playing all night."
A city that once flourished with people and families, voices and laughter, cries and shouts... has now fallen into a deep pit of tragedy and despair. Nothing but the moans of the hungry and rotted undead, howls of the harsh and empty winds, and now, a newly met nemesis that's out for your blood only. And you have no one to protect yourself from the unknown dangers that lie just within the outside world of this safe room. Save yourself and take care.
Video game music is so beautiful..... My friends use to think something was wrong with me and that I was weird cause I use play this theme before playing the actual game. I wish you guys were my childhood friends cause we all love The this theme and plenty others.
That is why I love the old school RE games (RE0-Code Veronica). You just made it to a new area and your health is in caution or danger, you have 5 rounds of handgun ammo and two shotgun shells and something down the hallway just made a noise and you don't know what it is. That's the feeling I miss from modern RE games that put more empathies on outright action.
@@balthasargerard7246 And I'm sure you had a bunch of sunshine and rainbows blasting out of your ass too when you finished. I see you missed my point entirely. The old school RE games were about surviving with what you can scrounge together. Its not a run and gun game, each round is important and in some of those older games the resources hit a dry spell before the devs take pity on you and you find a few supplies to help you on your way. In the older games when you entered a boss fight you only had what you brought with you or what you had left from earlier. If you wasted ammo then you were going into that fight needing to use the knife. In the game from RE4 and after, if you entered a boss fight and ran low on ammo, mobs would spawn so when you killed then they could drop ammo or healing, or sometimes supplies like that just magically show up behind you. They took away the survival part of survival horror. RE has become more action horror.
@@TheFreakedoutduck you say that but RE7, RE2R and RE3R exist :x he's kinda right though, unless if it's your first time playing an RE/horror/survival horror game the original games were kind of not difficult, there's a lot of supplies if you mash your interact on everything
@sadiq2008 Jeez, calm down man. People can have their opinion. For me personally I can't wait, it looks great. The only thing I don't like that much is how they remade Jill. Just doesn't feel like her but then again I had the same thoughts about Claire on RE2.
I think he won't be using his rocket launcher much, perhaps just on that scene in which he brings that chopper down, since these new remakes have a more realistic approach and a human would be pretty much dead if got shot by a damn bazooka
Compared to the other RE Games, this Save Room Theme sounds something like: "You can save your progress here, but if you go outside you are fucked anyway." This theme got something "apocalyptic" to it.
RE7's save room music didn't do it for me either. RE4's was great though. It fit the theme of being in a very strange and hostile place. RE2 is a great one too, followed by RE3
rockys201 Have you actually played the game? The save room music perfectly fits with the dark, eerie and melancholy vibe of the game. RE7 is a masterpiece. One of the best games in the series imo.
@@donalosullivan1455 Bruh I hope Capcom dosn't drop the ball when thay eventually remake Dino Crisis but since we know there allready botching the RE4 remake by removeing Krauser, but knowing how modern Capcom is I'm gonna start lowering my expectations for there future games from now on

oh Mr. Nemesis you are misunderstood. He just wants to kill and smash you into tiny bits, but other than that he seems cool. Creepy monster design. Reminds me of one of the Cenobytes from Hellraiser.
Nostalgia is bittersweet. This song and game will forever take me back to that time. Also, just noticed this was posted on my birthday. How crazy is that!
"Free from fear" my ass! This was the most horrific theme of them all, since you knew Nemesis was waiting behind the door, after you managed to limp in the safe room your health on danger and without any F-aid sprays. More like "Free from hope".
LOL I guess you could say that, but for me, "Free from fear" is exactly how this song made me feel. Now I just can't remember if Nemesis managed to burst into a Save Room once or it was just one of my nightmares.
This and the option menu theme soundtrack are both just so depressing & melancholic. Ueda and Maeda really captured the nostalgia, the means to rewind the clock and enjoy the good days again.
Desperation, fear, doubt...this theme has all those things written all over it. Perhaps of all the save room themes this one is the one that offers the least comfort. The world has gone to hell, all that matters now is to live.
never has anything been written better. this theme is heavy with melancholy. listening to this song, you can imagine Jill's heart and and thoughts racing with despair, wondering if she's ever going get out of this hell. I disagree with one thing though. RE 2's save theme is the one that is least comforting save room theme of all time. Atleast this song lets you think and and accept whats to come, RE 2's theme is plain horrifying.
this music always make me sad n goosebump , sad cause now im 32 yo when im playing RE 3 for the first time on 1999 , time so fast :( i miss my childhood so many beautiful memories ... thanks for make amazing RE series classic n beautiful song theme ... i hope this music can make all people remembering the beautiful childhood memories :')
Bubba Ranes bullshit.. this is the last true RE which ends with raccon city.. CV is when resident evil went to shit with all the gun&action with claire.
+Bubba Ranes Hey "MORON"! in case you didn't realize a fucking SWAT team was shooting at claire and all the matrix-like cutscenes in CV were bullshit too. RE3 is a billion times better than CV as its about SURVIVAL not about some action movie shit.
my fav one was the different interpretation jill and carlos had of the same scene carlos saw a soldier dying to defend someone. jill saw a soldier using a girl as a human body shield. what a way to build characters
Same the first 3 RE games I hold so dear to me.. such amazing memories watching my older brother them from 96 to 99 and I still play them to this day not so much 1 because I prefer the GameCube remake but 2 and 3 are still masterpieces in my eyes
Even in this room, you knew he was out there. You knew he was hunting you. You knew that when you took to the streets again, it was only a matter of time.
Yikes... I'm from the future and RE3 remake is a massive disappointment. And also Cyberpunk as of September of 2020 is pushed back to December of 2020. And the PS5/Series S|X is going to come out in 2021. ...Take me back to the 2000's already. Edited: CD Project can't decide on when to delay the game or not. Meanwhile I am working my butt off to afford some tires/rims for my car. LIFE IS FUN!
I feel a sense of comfort and hope. Just wonderful. When I was a teenager my room was the save room. Today, my save room is my home, but when I left home I needed to face Nemesis in my daily life and listening to this music gave me the strength I needed.
May God save us all from the terror of our world.. this music helps me remind, how tragic life can be everyday, please, whoever you are, live a happily life.
+Mike Wilson-Barrett they are doing RE2 remake right now but cannot wait for RE3! and it would be perfect if they re do RE4 with an online mode that would be perfect
A remaster for Code Veronica has been confirmed already; a remake isn't necessary given that the graphics of the franchise had already improved significantly by that time.
Mike Wilson-Barrett lol .i prefer remake than hd remaster.. it's true that there's a upcoming resident evil 2 remake.. resident evil 3 remake will happen if the sales of resident evil 2 remake is successful. hope resident evil 2 remake will have a 3rd person fixed camera.
*Walks out of the save room and gets halfway down the street before hearing those dreaded booming footsteps of the nemesis once again, getting closer and closer...*
Most musicians and sound designers take sketches and imagery from the game, and they compose it that way. Thats why i think we as RE players can’t separate the pictures from the sounds of the game. Marlyn Manson, co produced the music for the first resident evil movie. In the behind the scenes clip he’s says, that he came up with everything by looking at the artists sketches and models for inspiration.
I mean... This music is fu#king strange... Yes, when you hear it, you know you are safe but, this music that is telling you to better we worried as hell, to make sure you remember you have to exit again that door and face whatever menace comes next. To make sure that, even being safe... The world out there in flames... And the flames are looking for you. Masterpiece.
still hiding in a safe place and trying to relax while the whole city surrounded by darkness is sticking of a living death. imaginating and complaining with self if will ever make it out of the hell or not. you're never safe in this world.
"I literally grew up on this game, immediately after school I would come home throw my back-pack and play till I fell asleep that was back when I was 7 years old. I still own the original version & purchased the emulation on PS4, will forever love this game. I see this game now as a(n) adult, and the game truly is remarkable, it's genuince, it's creativeness & best of all the story, I still play to this very day, play on."
Thank you so much for this 1 hour long masterpiece...it's so nice to listen to it while drawing. Makes me feel so sad and nostalgic, but it also helps me concentrate.
This theme is not only about Nemesis hunting you down, and the desperation you feel fighting against an enemy that always comes back, but its also about the helplesness of wanting to save what is remaining in a city that was destined to be doomed... Part of you wants to stay in the corner of this safe room until all this madness ends and someone comes to help you, but the other part of you tells you that you are the one who has to end it and no one else will come for you, this safety is momentary and you know it, you have to be brave and go outside once again...to scape once and for all... God I love this game, I cant wait to play the R3make.
Speechless.. childhood memories.. good days no adult responsibilities no problems.. no heartbreaking.. no white hairs... I really miss my old days... So wounderful music very relaxing...
when i was kid (i think like 6 or 7) i tried play this game (my mom played it), and all what i was doing it was sitting in first save room cause i was scared to death to play rest of it, now im 20 and it feels so damn nostalgic TT_TT
I always remember those rainy days when I was a child and My mom allowed me to not go to school and I stayed the whole afternoon playing RE 2 and RE 3 (with no memory cards) while eating cookies
when this game came out.. japanese game industrie was on the top and had such masterminds working behind the games ...nowadays games lack any reall passion ,mistery is all generic shooter just bang bang no moments like this to comtemplate the chaos to make you think to make you be curious ...such a good music ,,music is soo important ..to games graphics dont even matter ..
I was 8 yrs during playing this epic game..now 23..those days this theme ❤️😭 deeply got inside my head till now its very heart touching cant explain ❤️
the best save room theme in the whole series, when i think of Raccon City this theme always pops up in my head, the tragedy, the horrors that happened in the city, the hopelesness of those who tried to survive but failed, the struggle agaisn't their fate, this theme translates all the pure horrors of the series in a single track, one of my favorite sound tracks EVER and no doubt about it
First time i heard this piece...that office in the warehouse...thinking about that moment for a while, just staring to thouse desks around: I have only this handgun...gun i used last time in that mansion two months ago...what happend to that city? Tears in eyes...no one escaped, everyone around is dead....that guy downstairs locked up himself in truck...what should i do?...slowly taking the key from main door of warehouse, counting bullets, knife in the boot...long breath...back to the police station...lets go...
best music / soundtrack from the Resident-evil salve rooms, and very relaxing, I remember when I played every time I would stay for about 3 to 5 minutes just to listen to this beautiful sound.
It looks like 3 people have been afflicted with the T-Virus and have been turned into zombies....who would dislike this?!?!? This is where its at if you are a RE fan...oh the memories! :-)
@@QF_Dan72 eh, that really doesn't bother me. A lot of ppl are obsessed with the while dislikes thing, I really don't care. Lol. All that matters is that all of us RE fans can come together on videos like this and share special memories! :-)
All those years ago as a teenager. playing this game on a lonely Saturday or Sunday. Grey skies and the occasional rainfall and this music pulling me into a wistful melancholy. Good times.
My last days at home in my room playing this masterpiece before I moved out, now I'm a middle-aged man alone in my apartment, wish I could go back to those happy days

1 of my most memorable themes from the amazing Resident evil series.. truly dark ,sad but haunting & Mysterious just like many aspects of the story itself.. much love Jill Valentine you brave little STARS Valkyrie
A truly unnerving, ominous theme that messes with your mind; best save room theme of the series. Listening to it now as an adult, it makes me long for the days of youth and simplicity. I would trade everything in my adult life to go back to 1998-99 and relive this again.
This is the only save room music out of all the first three Resident Evil games for the PS that made me feel trapped, lost, uneasy, and scared for my life! Such memories man

I will never forget re 1 , 2 , 3 classic they were my childhood and every song , were a MASTERPIECE.
Yeah agree, works of art
Code Veronica was my favorite but hell this whole series was something it truly made you think about life in every way possible.
No offense but your friends lack a lot of knowledge
I agree with Alexander.

When you standing in your save room and desperately scroll trough your inventory chest to find some health after you're already in danger mode
@@TheFreakedoutduck you say that but RE7, RE2R and RE3R exist :x
he's kinda right though, unless if it's your first time playing an RE/horror/survival horror game the original games were kind of not difficult, there's a lot of supplies if you mash your interact on everything

Me too!!!! I'm so excited!!

Compared to the other RE Games, this Save Room Theme sounds something like:
"You can save your progress here, but if you go outside you are fucked anyway."
This theme got something "apocalyptic" to it.
I did think RE2 had an apocalyptic feel to it as well. It definitely had a sinister edge to it
Resident Evil 7 has my new favorite save room music!
RE2-4 Has the best save themes, i listened to 7's one and it just dont hit me like the others did, re4's is the best hands down imo

This and the option menu theme soundtrack are both just so depressing & melancholic. Ueda and Maeda really captured the nostalgia, the means to rewind the clock and enjoy the good days again.
This game used to scare the living hell outta me as a child. It still gives me chills after all these years. Best Resident Evil game IMO.
Desperation, fear, doubt...this theme has all those things written all over it. Perhaps of all the save room themes this one is the one that offers the least comfort. The world has gone to hell, all that matters now is to live.
+NoMoreNever IMO RE 2 safe room theme is scarier and creepier. listen to those eerie minor scales..
never has anything been written better. this theme is heavy with melancholy. listening to this song, you can imagine Jill's heart and and thoughts racing with despair, wondering if she's ever going get out of this hell.
I disagree with one thing though. RE 2's save theme is the one that is least comforting save room theme of all time. Atleast this song lets you think and and accept whats to come, RE 2's theme is plain horrifying.

Its amazing how well suited the first 3 resident evil save room themes were. They matched the atmosphere of the games perfectly
