  • My name is Joanna. I have a speech disorder called Speech Apraxia. Apraxia is a speech sound disorder where one has trouble saying
words correctly. The brain knows what it wants to say, but cannot say the sounds properly. I am educating people on what it's like living with Speech Apraxia or any disability, but I am focusing on my disability the most.
My life has been very stressful and a lot has changed since I posted last! I wanted to take the time out of my busy schedule to do this and get ready with me to go to the Night to Shine prom! A prom where everyone with disabilities can experience prom! Thanks, Tim Tebow for giving us with disabilities the opportunity to be a part of this amazing event! Thanks for including us! You are awesome! The only negative thing Tim Tebow uses the term “special needs.” We would like to see that you use different wording we are fine with the word disabilities!

Joanna im thinking of wearing royal purple this year. Last year i wore green every other girl was wearing royal blue. The year before i wore lavender, i was freezing, it was a sleeveless dress and the building i was in had no heat and the vallies took my jacket so i had no warmth. Sending a hug to you princess from another crowned night to shine princess

I love your dress. You look beautiful. Purple is my favorite color. I'm going to a special needs prom that my church is hosting that is similar to Night to Shine on March 8th.

Well, I hope you will have fun! I like using the term “disability” It is belittling to so many other people who live with a disability to use the term “special need”

@JoannaLivingwithSpeechApraxia I will. This will be my second time going. I first went last year, and i'm going again this year. It's become a yearly tradition for me.
