Here I am back in Ms. Lori’s cozy kitchen listening to her calm voice telling us a new recipe with the soothing chimes of her clock going off in the background. ❤
Miss Lori is always such a joy just listening to her !is a heart warming experience! I can always appreciate the value of both of their friendship and wisdom. Very dear people
THANK YOU SO GLAD YOUR WITH ME!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS
I am going to try this for sure. My husband and my Son love beef and noodles and this will help them to have it when I am not feeling well. I have stage IV Kidney Cancer and still living with it being stage IV, going on my 4th year and I give all the credit to God. He is always faithful and he will carry me through. I enjoy all of your video's and as all the others have said, your voice is so peaceful. Thank you for sharing this canning video with us!
Prayers
I’m 67 years old and just started learning to can. I started this past summer when my son had a big garden. The first thing I canned was green beans. I love watching you and learning. Thank you for all you do.
Thanks for sharing!
I am 65 and just started canning this year also. Meals in a jar is my favorite thing to do
Can't wait to see this one. My husband and I have canned venison and it is delicious. But he passed in June so now I have to learn how to do it myself. He would always do the canner and I would prepare it , now I have to learn how to work the canner 😊
You can do it. It will feel like he is with you.
So sorry for your loss.
@@gerrymarmee3054 thank you so much for your encouraging words
Sending hugs. I'm a widow too. Many yrs ago. I only had to learn to can in smaller jars. Pints are 2+ meals. You'll do a great job.
Keeping you in my p rayers. I lost my Mom in July at 92. Lv and Prayers.
Hello, Ms. Lori
I had a couple of big canning days here. I canned sweet potatoes that weren't cooked for Christmas, 8 pints.
And then, I started on beans and bean soups. I got 7 quarts of pinto beans w/ham, 7 quarts of great northern beans w/ham, onions, garlic, celery, carrots and a bit of red bell pepper. 6 pints of 15 bean soup with sausage and vegetables. And finally, 14 pints of plain beans. It's very satisfying to see the fruits of your labor.
I know that what I put up is of good quality and will be available for a long while. I have much more planned for "Canuary " and February.
WONDERFUL!
What a lot of gratifying work! Good job 👍❤️👍
You were a busy gal! I love canning my pinto beans up, then seasoning them to whatever purpose when I use them. A couple of gals have told me how easy the insta pot is etc..that I don't need to can my dry beans. They must not understand that love of accomplishment it is when your shelves are lined with your own short cut meals!
I can't agree more. Winter is the best time to can. I freeze my tomatoes from the garden to can in the winter. I definitely need to can some more meat again. We'd purchased half of a cow and pig so our freezer is full. I love the fact that winter canning helps heat the home in the winter too instead of summer. This looks delicious! Love yall, stay warm! ❤
IM VERY IMPRESSED WITH YOUR ABILITY TO MAKE FRUGAL DELICIOUS MEALS, THAY ALWAYS LOOK SO GOOD, AND BEING ABLE TO PURCHASE BEEF AND PORK LIKE THAT WILL SAVE YOU MONEY IN THE LONG RUN, PLUS SO MUCH BETTER!
@@WhippoorwillHoller thank you so much miss Lori! That's the biggest compliment ever ❤ I still cannot believe the price on the beef, it was $3.75 a pound for every cut. Nothing in the stores could touch that price and it tastes so much better. 🥰
Yeah! I love canning in the winter, too. Keeps the house warm and when the recipes are cooking before canning the house even smells warm and seems more cozy.
Another reason to can beans and not dry can beans would be in case you are without water during a long term situation, then you don't have to worry about water to cook your dry beans....
You are so lovely. Missing my Momma and Grandma. We always canned together. I just couldn’t bring myself to can by myself. After watching you , I jumped back in there and have been busy. I’m learning to ferment and do sourdough, it’s been an adventure. Thank you for inspiring me. I know my Grandmother and Mom would be proud of me. With love, Bonnie Olene
If I could only have one word to describe Mrs. Lori, it would be that... inspiring! 😊
Thanks so much
I close my eyes and hear my mama (in heaven now) when you are talking. I learned so much about canning from her and Ms. Lori. Thank you so much for teaching us
Yet ANOTHER fantastic tutorial! Thanks so much AGAIN, Lori!❤
Love your videos thanks....ya I'm in my 70's lol started two years ago canning. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Love that you love the Lord. ❤
SO TRUE!
Looks great and what a blessing to have it already canned and ready to go! Yes, I enjoyed Heather's canning as well. She's been through so much and so sweet. God bless ya, Ms Lori, stay warm and safe!😊💖🙏🏼❄️☃️
Yep. Miss Lori and dear Heather are the best 😊
I love the idea of having canned beans in the pantry. I never have time to make beans from dry after work. Those beef tips looked so good! Id like those with mashed potatoes. Thank you for this video! Don't work too hard, stay warm and God bless ❤
I love to do my canning during the three rivers challenges either the pantry challenge in January and February during Canuary OR during the "Every Bits Counts" challenge. I so love to listen to you can while I am doing my meal planning on Saturdays. Thank you!
THANK YOU SO MUCH
I have watched this 2 times & I think I am ready to can some meat! My mom always froze our meat so I never learned how to do that! Thank you so much for sharing! After years of watching you, I am ready to start back canning everything! Life throw me a curve ball several years ago with an incurable blood disease & I am on chemo trying to keep it from causing a heart attack, stroke or blood clots! I have had a lot of ups & downs but I am ready to do more now! Blessings to you & Mr. Brown❣️❣️
IM HERE FOR YA!
Praying for you. 🙏 Having a pantry full of canned meats and veggies will help you out so much. Especially on days you don't feel like spending a lot of time preparing a nutritious meal. Most of the work will already be done for you, just sitting on the shelf. 😂😊
🙏🙏
Blessings and prayers to you.
I did winter canning this year to help keep heating bill down. Instead of the gas furnace heating the house, the electric stove is doing it 😊
Thank you. I am one of your seventy year olds that have just started canning meats. What a blessing it is. The meat is so much easier for us to digest and tastes great too. I have a lot of catching up to do and so appreciate your videos. All of them. Thanks again!
I finally figured out, always start out with a bigger pot than you think you'll need.
Thank you for this video! I’m still intimidated by canning meat, but you make it look easier than I expected!❤
PLEASE DONT BE INTIMIDATED, ITS REALLY PRETTY EASY, AND SAFE
Once you can meat you realize it's pretty simple and it is soooo convenient. It takes so much time off of preparing meals as well. When I don't feel well, I can whip up chicken soup in the time it takes to dump a few jars in the pot and bring to a boil.
I felt no confidence that I could safely pressure can meats, too. But after a little while actually doing it I truly feel competent... and YOU will, too.
Canning meat is ridiculously simple. Its just more time in the canner is all.
Just watched a 1 yr ago vid "Cook'in and Gabb'in" - You guys are a delightful fun couple - I am 74YO who grew up in West Texas and you two remind me of the good ole West Texas home Folks - the type that when you are aroind them, make you smile and feel good just being around them. No drama, no stress. Please make more vids of the two of cooking together.
We plan on it thanks
Thank you
I have a tote that I keep all of my canning gadgets in. I do that cause I’d lose my head if it wasn’t attached. And I have a daily to do list because my brain just doesn’t function like it did in my younger years. I think canned food is beautiful.. ❤❤
I’ve never canned meat before. I’ve canned green beans, whole tomatoes, dill pickles, applesauce. peaches and pears. I missed last year because of back issues after surgery. I’m 81 and I’m always disappointed with myself when I’ve missed a year canning. I can what I like because I’m a widow, but I have children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who get a share. Your video’s have inspired me to branch out into meats and dry beans and who knows what else will spark my urge to can. So thank you so much for all your cooking, canning and stories. Mr. Brown included. When is he going to make more videos?
There are only certain meats I like to can
I love Beef Tips! I can make so many different meals with them from Stews n Soups to Beef Tips n Gravy with Rice or Potatoes to Open Face Beef Sandwiches! So many different things to make! I'm not able to do any canning anymore or much of anything with my Neuropathy from head to toe! I can dream n watch you do it. I love watching your Videos! I couldn't ever get my Daughter to learn to Can foods or anything! She just never had an interest in doing anything like this! She hates to stand and Cook! She sure didn't take that after me or my side of the family! My Momma, Grandmaws, Aunts, Sisters and Myself have lived our lives Gardening and Canning and Putting up Food for our Pantries! My Pantry is dwindling and I ask her to do some but she don't want to do it. Sometimes she might get a Wild Hair and do a lil but not much! I guess something is better than nothing! My husband's family never did stuff like that so I guess she took after them! I pray the Lord heals my hands n feed so I can do what I need to fill my Pantry again to feed us all... I pray you feel better Miss Lori... Y'all Stay Warm n Safe! God Bless. 🙏🙏❤❤🔥🔥
THANK YOU
Very cool intro! Stay warm and safe, everyone!
Great video. I keep all my canning supplies in a tote, extra lids, extra rings, funnel, debubbler, magnet lifter, jar lifter, spoon, dish towels. That way I know exactly where everything that I am going to need is at.
i agree with you i want my beans canned and ready to go. i also agree winter is the best time to can. not so pressed for time helps heat the house ect.
It’s always good to see you!♥️👍🙏
I love your wooden ladle. I use to have to hunt for my canning supplies too. Now I have 2 of everything. I bagged up a set of what I use to can….de-bubbler, funnel, tongs, etc and have it in my pantry. Then I have another bag of supplies I put inside my pressure canner along with my canner book and it’s stored in my metal cabinet in my garage where my other big pots, strainers for canning, are kept. It’s nice to finally be somewhat organized now. I was afraid I would wear something out in the middle of canning season so when I acquired some canning jars, lids I acquired things I already had( our friends downsized and I got her canning supplies) I thought ok this is good! It’s all good!
I could have three or four sets of canning equipment and I'd still be set to cussin' (under my breath of course🤬) trying to find stuff sometimes.
Great video! I agree Miss Laurie, I have always canned ingredients aseperately also. The processing time is different, and I would rather add just what I want to combine when I'm ready to prepare the final meal. I also agree with washing all jars once they're cooled before stocking them into my pantry! Thanks so much!
Hi! I really enjoy all your videos. I'm 73yrs old and last year in March I pressure cooked for the first time. Your videos gave me the courage. I did pinto beans for my first canning. I love the taste of the beans home canned. I've done a few more things. I would like to request a cook book with just your canning. I trust your methods and we eat very much alike. My parents were born and raised in Arkansas. Even though I'm born and raised in California, I'm more an Arkansas gal. It's my heritage. Love you.
That is awesome! THANK YOU SO MUCH
Look's Delicious Ms.Lori, Thank's For Sharing And All The Tip's..Be Blessed ❤😊
I. Love how you share with us . I worked 4 jobs and brought home the income I couldn't have made it without a crockpot.
Miss Lori, did you ever get the results back from your arthritis tests? I'm just curious as to what kind of treatment has been discussed. I enjoy ALL of your videos! God bless both of you.
THANK YOU FOR ASKING, I HAVE YET BEEN SET UP WITH A APPOINMENT, TAKES FOREVER
I used to do so much canning, and like you, canned separately. When I made soup, my daughters called it "quart jar stew " 😊
I LOVE that. Quart jar stew. 😂
Love that!
@@justgoodness333littlehomes5 me, too I'm gonna call it that. Why not? So cute!
OH MY GOODNESS! I just checked your weather forecast…. Stay warm Miss Lori and Mr. Brown… those are some low temps!
Miss Lori I love yours and Mr Browns videos I love how softly you talk. This recipe sounds so good I think I’ll have to give it a try
Thank you
Thanks for the tip about getting a roast and cutting it into the tips for the recipe. You are right, the more prepping or processing that is done by the butcher or market, the more we have to pay!
Love your channel! You and Mr. brown always make me smile
Thanks so much
As you know canning small meals is a newfound convenience for some. This looks like another delicious pantry addition. My first favorite small jar was corned beef. It is just a big meal I never cooked for one person. I find it very comforting after a two-hour drive home in a terrible blizzard. This is a time I find I am grateful to be retired and not making the drive. Those mushrooms look so yummy!
I just love this great one for this winter-time cold. Yum Yum!!
Miss Lorie are you and Mr. Brown warm and snug at Whipporwill Hollow? It looks like snow in Arkansas.
I made dinner tonight for my other half and another couple. Yellow pepper soup with leeks, Angel Biscuits, clam dip, Cornish hens marinaded in lime , ginger, garlic, olive oil. Fried cabbage and jasmine rice. Roasted garlic, brussels sprouts and carrots. We finished with Ina Gartens carrot cake. My cake wasn't as good as I hoped. My raisins were old! Don't be serving old raisins!
Oh wow, sounds delicious
Mr Brown, you should install a dishwasher for Miss Lori. 😉
I don't know if you already do this but when I am done canning, I put all the accessories inside the canner so I don't lose them. I love your videos!
That’s a great idea!
This looks delicious! After making a batch of your Italian beef when you put that out, I can't wait to try this! I like to can my stew meat up but never thought of a gravy over the beef. A whole hog comes in next week so needing room in the freezers I was planning to can up some of the oldest meat, a few round roasts need done and you know it will be fall apart delicious in this recipe. I now have 2 cows worth of fat to get rendered as well. Today's high was minus 13 so just as well keep the house warm and 2 canners going this next week. Thanks for another great recipe Ms. Lori!
I could listen you to forever!! Thank you for sharing!
Hi Ms. Lori. I love canning and doing my hand sewing in rhe winter. My Mom passed in July and Im still not use to her not being here. I can alot of our food. Have fun. Love watching you all. I know Mr. Brown and Family love your cooking. Im on my 4th year with you all. Lv and Prayers to all.
THANK YOU SWEETIE, PRAYERS FOR PEACE
I love to play your videos while I’m doing my housework. Not only does it encourage me, but it makes me feel close to home. ❤
THAT IS SO KIND!
It makes me keep the housework done and the errands run, because once I start watching one of her canning videos about something I wanna try, there will be no housework done or errands run until I've got at least a dozen or so jars of it canned and one jar of it in my bowl or on my plate😊.
I love this idea of canning beef . you .can make pot pies, beef n gravy, etc. Thank you, and this coming week, I'm thinking of canning this. 😊😊
Hope you enjoy
I was looking for dog bones to buy. They were as expensive as buying meat! I am going to buy some bone-in roasts and use the bones for the dogs!
Turkey’s are marked down pretty reasonable right now!
I’m here. Waiting . . . . . . .
Thank you for another helpful video!
You are so welcome!
Thanks for a great video with a relaxed tempo (even though I know it was a lot of work). Now I am hungry for beef stew. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Canning protein is my favorite thing to can. Its so incredibly expensive and I have to pay close attention to sales but when its on the shelf, I breath a little easier watching the prices going up.
For the hunters out there your deer meet or other meats you can put them up the same way. Makes it easy to have a quick meal on the table.
I literally just got chuck roast on sale wahooo) I grabbed a few. And then you posted this video. It’s like you knew!😁😂❤️
THATS WONDERFUL!
My grandparents done a ton of canning back in their time.
They had either 2 or 3 pressure canners, from the 30's or 40's. plus 3 or 4 cold pack canners. I actually have grandma's last new cold pack canners. I've done some canning on my own, but remember helping grandma do some canning.
Ms. Lori, I can’t wait to make this. I know it’s going to be delicious. Your the best cook on CZcams in my opinion.
Thanks so much
Ms. Lori you are a very special treasure! The wealth of information you have provided to all of us to teach us all how to be self sustainable is wonderfully powerful and inspiring! ❤Thank you
You are so welcome
When I canned the pork n beans, ranch style beans, plain beans recipe I got from you my hubby said definitely no more bought beans!!!!!! Thanks Mrs Laurie.
That is awesome!
I totally agree with you about cutting up roasts on your own! Plus, you can make it as lean or as fatty as your preference! If you can, get a rapport with the butcher 😉….it helps to know when sales are coming up! Most are very helpful and are proud of their jobs…..👍
Dear Mrs, Lori. You inspire me to try out my new canner this winter. My son bought me an all American medium sized, I’ve had it for a year now, it’s such an impressive and heavy duty canner, but it’s scary to me. I am so hesitant bc I’ve never canned before on my own. You make it look so easy and calm. My paternal grandmother, Jessie always did all the canning when I was very young. I loved helping and watching her and learning from her, she was always so willing to share her precious time and teachings with me. I miss so her often and think of her when I’m cooking her favorite recipes. I can still hear her voice talking me through making her sausage gravy for us on the weekends. She made the BEST I ever had in my life.I’ve only been able to make it twice identical to hers, she had this way of using the exact amount of lard to flour browned just right ratio, and water to milk ratio and even the black pepper ratio, that I cannot replicate barely at all. And when I have managed, I literally holler and do a lil boogie dance, and praise to her in heaven, with pride and joy that lingers in my heart for days! I hope you read this ❤. Can you do a video and show me how to can sausage gravy. And maybe a creamed chicken gravy, too! Thank you, God Bless you and your precious family. With love, Sonya! 😇
BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES XOXOXOO
Thank you for sharing this! Can't wait to try this, love winter canning, heats up the kitchen nicely.
Ms. Lorie, sorry I missed your live. I took have been busy with doing some winter canning. I've canned chicken bone broth, sliced mushrooms, getting ready to can up organic mandarin oranges and lemons today and making another batch of elderberry syrup for keep our immune systems boosted. Don't want us to get any of the sicknesses going around. I have a chuck roast in my freezer that I need to can up(will most likely use your recipe) and I am going to can up sloppy joes with ground beef. I love watching you and Mr. Brown. Blessings to you both and praying that you both are staying safe and warm from these frigid temperatures.🙏🏼🫂❤️
Sounds good
I didn’t get notifications! Wait for me!!! lol❤️

I recently saw your canned Italian beef and made it for my family. EVERYONE loves it ! Thank you so much for sharing! It will be a staple in our pantry going forward. I cant wait to try this recipe! Love your channel so much!
I am in Arkansas now came to visit my Dad in Mountain Home. Are you close by? Would love to meet you and Me. Brown
SEVERAL MILES AWAY FROM MOUNTAIN HOME
I never canned meats before, going to try some beef tips, they look yummy! My Mom and Dad always canned beef, chicken and venison so I'm familiar with that, but never canned meat myself. hope all is well, pray for you and Mr. Brown often.
Thank you Miss Lorie ! Your video’s always get me into GOOD TROUBLE ! 😂😂😂😂😘😘😘❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you Miss Lorrie, looks like a really good recipe, was looking for a really good one to can,Thank you, I’ll be following you & Mr.Brown
I can most of my foods in Pints and very few in Quarts. This way I can make anything quickly and as you said, no preservatives or other things I don't want. :) I save at least 1 video for all the channels I watch. That way I can go right to them when I want to see what's been cookin'. LOL
Ingredient canning gives you more versatility. You can create much more variety in your meals. I hardly ever repeat meals in a month.
Hey Miss Lori, it makes sense to your a bean eater to have them ready👍.
Your so right about the Chuck roast over stew meat.
Stew meat, here is double ,triple per lb than the roast!
I hope you got some help with your hands?
Not sure when your appointment is/was.
I've got to too,I did something to the tendon on my right wrist, they said it was sprained but it never healed😢.
Yall are gonna be happy you did this batch,it looks YumO!
JO JO IN VT 💞

Wonderful!
God bless you and your husband. May God bless you in everything you do I just love you
OHHHH that looks and sounds so yummy, with Potatoes and Carrots!
Thank you Ms. Lori ! I love the idea of ingredient canning. You can always change things up then. FYI - We are making your Lunch Lady cinnamon rolls today. Yum !
Sounds great!
I cant wait to can this meat. Also thank you so much for showing us how to can dry beans and especially your ranch beans. The home canned ones are far superior and we know whats in them! Your ranch bean recipe is awesome!! I think of you every time I open a jar! You are the best! When do you get to retire so you can join Mr Brown?? Holy cow has your channel grown!!! 👍 I love watching your videos. I learn so much.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I just started canning last year. I buy things on sale and can them up. I have tons of chicken and turkey, beans, applesauce, but not much beef. That is on my list to do now.
I love your ranch beans
SO GOOD
Love your canner Lori..very swish...can't wait to get mine out and firing again..I will be canning up some beef and mushrooms.
Stroganoff sounds mighty good..yumm❤🎉🎉 God Bless you both ❤ Trish 🇦🇺
I love winter canning as well for things other than fresh produce
I love your videos! I love this recipe. I appreciate all time and information you share with us. I look forward to your videos. This sounds yummy. Thanks again for participating in Canuary calibration.
Brrr! Here is East Central Kansas waiting. Good afternoon!
I'm freezing in Wichita!!!!! Walking my dog four or five times a day is a real challenge as is trying to keep my apartment warm enough. Brrrrrrr. 🥶
Near Emporia here. I haven't been to town for a week. Perks of being retired.
Ms. Lori can you adjust your camera alittle when filling jars...lol
Perfect timing for this recipe. I have 4 chuck roasts cut up and waiting for me in the refrigerator.
Hey Ms. Lori!
HOWDY
This was wonderful. I love making broth. Also side note one of those beef rib bones added to spaghetti sauce when cooking. Such flavor!
I’ve been canning dry beans too this year. Never know when you might need them.
Miss Lori, this looks Delicious! Thank You for another Delicious recipe. God Bless You and Mr Brown and may He keep you all safe and warm during this cold snap.🛐❤️🤗
I had no idea that we can “ can “ gravy ! I thought freezer only . How incredibly helpful is that ! Thank you Miss. Lori . I’m busy trying to home cook , stock my daughter’s freezer with home made “Mummy Moose” food as she calls it with the things I cooked when they were little and which she loves . And she doesn’t have all time in the world . This I’m doing because my darling daughter , aged 38 , with two sweet darling little sons , is fighting stage 3 1/2 cancer which is on the rampage , so to speak. We’ll fight continue , to fight this with good grace , humour (albeit sometimes that ole dark humour) and with our love and prayers to God. I just wish that God would give the cancer to me . Thank you so much for the inspiration to this. ❤️
Prayers
Looks amazing. Meats are one of my favorite things to can! The beef looks delicious!
I love having home canned beans in my pantry, I use no less than 3 different color beans in my chili.
I love having canned meat in my pantry
