Huge problem with this episode… it was too short! Fantastic, as always, Steve. I really enjoyed hearing Erik and viewing his photography. Don’t wait so long next time to have him back.
Thanks, and thanks for Steve for having me on again, maybe in the future we could dive deeper into the pad camera setups! Or my real passion of night photography! Or my adrenaline fix of Aviation Photography!
"We live in different worlds" !- Boy, do we! Thanks for taking us along! And I really liked the discussion of both the technical side and composition. I keep telling people around me they shouldn't worry too much about the technical, because cameras do such a good job on automatic these days that it lets them work on their composition skills. But sometimes, the technical does matter a lot. And it did with this one.
Awesome episode. As a long time member of Kelby One, I’m well aware of him and his work. Though I’ve never met him face to face, I feel like he’s a friend. He’s critiqued some of my photos on the The Grid and has given me awesome advice on improving my images and photography.
Hey Jack! Thanks a ton for taking the time to watch. Erik is so kind with his time and knowledge that yes, he feels so familiar. He is that kind in person too.
Besides a great conversation about a neat capture…it was so fun to get to know Erik more and hear about the cool things he has going on! Nice shoutout to Darren McBurnett “McB” and Scott Kelby. All true about the show “The Grid Live”, been a fan for years! #erikkuna #rocketlaunches #behindtheshot #stevebrazill #thegridlive #kelbyone #stukelistens
Pam, thanks so much and yes, love having McB on The Grid too, I'm always fascinated by Navy SEALS, would be a great one to have on the show Steve if he's up for it!
@@thekunakowski The pleasure was all mine! Our buddy Steve is way ahead of us...here's the link to the episode with McB : ) and it is fantastic! czcams.com/video/FTwUslxyg8I/video.html
Thanks, it's a great technique especially for those telephoto shots where your subject is around the horizon and will have tons of atmospheric distortion
Love this! I've been wanting to see and now shoot a rocket launch live for a long time. I get to Florida a few times a year to visit my P's in Boca. I was Just down there a few weeks ago and I knew there was supposed to be a launch, but I was going to miss It by a day. On my way back home I camped a few days and I was hanging out on the beach probably 20-40 miles north of Canaveral. Me not paying attention to anything but peace and the sound of the waves, I happen to notice a small crowd gathering. I thought nothing of it. Unless I'm intentionally shooting seascapes my gear stays far away from the sand because it gets in and on everything. A few minutes pass and now I notice even more commotion. With my gear in my Jeep, off in the distance......there it is, a Falcon 9 soaring into space. I was at least able to get a cruddy iPhone shot of a realllllllllly small rocket in the distance. Thanks to this episode I will be downloading the apps mentioned so I will not miss it again. P.S. The sonic boom was awesome to hear!!
Thanks so much for watching, and really glad it inspired you take the camera out next time. Like you, I’d be so panicked about sand, but seeing some of Erik’s cameras after a shoot I think I’ll be ok. Hahahaha. twitter.com/erikkuna/status/1669331135833296908?s=46&t=N7UZJVxNg5WBZ1-UoTBu8A

Thanks, as always, for watching, Thomas. Erik is so good at what he does, and more importantly can explain it.
I am less than 10 minutes in and I am loving this episode already.
Awesome, I'm glad you enjoyed
@@thekunakowski Oh I am looking at those workshops too. I will be seeing you in the future.
Great show! Erik, thank you for sharing your expertise and openness.
Thanks for watching, Keith!

Great tip I’ve never heard. Under expose & faster shutter speed to cut through haze 👌
Yeah, that caught my ear too. Love that.

Thanks for the explication and I’m keen to try it out. Love your work 🤙
