Great video! Thank you. I'm a 75 yo great grandma, living in an apartment now, where we're not allowed to have gas grills. My Ninja Woodfire Smoker/Grill is expected to be delivered TOMORROW! I'm so excited. I'm a visual/verbal processor, also. So I now feel ready to try it immediately! Thanks SO much.
That is awesome!
Just bought one of these over in the UK, although our temperatures are different this was a fantastic start up video! Looking forward to smoking some brisket this weekend! Thank you 🔥

I saw one at Costco for $239 and came home to watch some videos. After watching you I am going back to get one.
I did. Loving it. Dad’s videos are great.
@@Barbarajdt need a nice table for it. Not into the one from ninja
This is the one I have been using in my newer videos. You can catch it one sale sometimes. It has been really great. amzn.to/3N5njae
@DadGotThis much better for prep and storage.
@DadGotThis does the bottom of the nin ja get hot and burn the table base? I assume the ninjas version has the big hole for that..tytyt
I just got one of these as a Xmas present from the wife. I'm glad that I ran across your video as this will take away a lot of the trial and error of figuring this thing out. The side by side comparison of the different modes was fantastic. Thanks!
Glad I could help! Stick around and consider subscribing for some fun recipes and more insights on the unit!
You married well!
Awesome video
You told us everything we needed to know about all the cooking and smoking features ❤
Just got our Ninja Grill and smoker for Christmas. Your video was so informative and gave me far more confidence in using it. Also purchased all the accessories. Am so looking forward to using it now. Thank you so much and I subscribed to be able to watch your other videos and tips for using this great appliance. We love the other Ninja products we own.
That’s awesome! You are going to love it.
Great video brother, I've followed some of your videos and the food was awesome, alot of great tips and tricks that made it easy for me than just winging it on my own, much appreciated and please keep them coming.
Thanks for watching!
Great instructions, Simple and clear
That was great to watch, you made it so simple and no fluffing it up, I’ve just bought one so thank you so much for all your info
Glad it was helpful!
This is actually the best review I have seen regards the woodfire grill so far. Cheers bro.
Wow, thanks!
Great video. Our outdoor grill was on its last leg...2 years ago, I dont use it and say prayer each time hubby goes to ignite it. This is a great alternative.
It really is a nice option.
Excellent teaching video. Recently purchased this grill.
Thanks! I think you will enjoy it. It is really a nice little machine.
Glad I stumbled onto your video! Very informative..
Thanks,

you took out the intimidation factor for me - thank you!! entertaining!
That’s awesome! It’s not hard at all, it’s probably the easiest BBQ item I’ve ever used. Glad I helped!

Great review!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
I took delivon the XL today. Ran it through the initial burn in, then used your recipe and setting for three different cooks with the thighs as you did. The family loved all three types as I did too.
Great device and smokes and cooks fast.
Great to hear!
Dude, awesome video!
Thanks!
Just watched learned a lot thanks
Glad it was helpful!
We got one for Christmas. Going to use it tonight for the first time.
I'm used to an offset smoker, a pit Barrel cooker and a cast iron grill. So this will be different.
Just be ready for it to cook faster and hotter than expected! If an offset recipe calls for 250 try 225 or even 200 on the woodfire.
Thanks for the review. 👌👌👌✌️
My pleasure 😊
You are the greatest thanks for the tips I am up in age I bought one and now im loveing it because of your video

Enjoyed the tutorial, very precised. Now its off to the races. LOL New Subscriber and liked.
Thanks for the sub!
Great video! thank you for posting 🥰
You are so welcome!
There's a killer father's day deal on HSN of all places so I got the XL today. Can't wait for it to be delivered. You and CJ are the best recipe and how-to channels. I'm eat mostly protein so this is going to be a game changer for how much variety I have. I've been sleeping on Air-frying so I'm looking forward to trying that feature. Smoking always rules of course.
You can air fry with smoke which is AMAZING!
Thank you for making this video I don't have to read the instruction I already know how to use it thanks to you.
Glad I could help
Thank you for the video. Due to new apartment restrictions, I'm having to get rid of my Weber smoker and go electric. The Ninja is quite impressive and gives me hope!
Good luck!
Great video. Using mine for the first time tomorrow weather permitting here in the UK. Going to do a whole chicken. What setting/tips would you suggest? 😊
On a whole bird that’s tough. I haven’t done a whole bird in there yet. I’d say smoker at 225. Drop the probe in the breast and pull it at 160-165.
GREAT SHIRT!!!
You're Killing Me Smalls!
Agreed
Thank you bro your video is very informative
Thanks for watching, hope you subscribed!
Thank you man I was wondering why my grill kept turning off good video 👍🏼
Glad I could help
Got one but couldn't figure out why it wouldn't ignite the pellets though we were doing exactly what it said. Thanks you're the best👍
Did you get it working? Was it because the flame was not showing?
Can’t wait till mine comes in the mail looks awesome to maybe even take camping with like how perfect would it be to smoke while at a camp site
The portability of them is really cool. I can see these being awesome for RV folks.
I plan on buying one when I buy my RV later this year
These are perfect for RV's.
Great video! Does the grill function stay on heating even after the timer runs out?
When the timer runs out the grill shuts off.
Really enjoyed your video..........great idea of cooking the same food on the three different modes. I learned a lot - Thank you!!
Well thanks for watching!
I have the same model as you first let me say I really needed to watch your video. I destroyed a porterhouse steak tonight. Won’t do that again. Loved your video and I’ll keep watching your others. I have the same model as yours as stated, and was confused by the Bluetooth setting and finally assumed this model does not come with that.??? that’s assuming if it’s even needed the app. Thank you.
There are multiple models and this one did not have Bluetooth. An easy way to identify one of those models is they will have built-in thermometers. However, you can buy a wireless thermometer and do everything else except control the grill with this model and the wireless thermometer.
GREETINGS FROM ST.LOUIS , MISSOURI @ NEW SUBSCRIBER 🎉🎉🎉
Well hello there! That reminds me, I need to tackle some St. Louis Style BBQ soon!
Thank you from across the pond, moving house but will be my first purchase once feet are planted.
Pip pip Cheerio! 😂
Thank you
I am glad I was able to help!
Smart money daily guy!
I need that grill pan
It really is a must have accessory for the Ninja Woodfire in my opinion.
Just grabbed one of these on sale in France. Like great grandma below, I can't have gas or coals in the building. It's being delivered in 3 days and I'm heading to clean the terrasse.
One question regarding re-igniting the hopper. Does pressing and holding for 3 seconds also stop the ignition?
Looking forward to more videos. Just subscribed. 🔥🥩🥦🫑🌶
Good luck when you get it. To stop igniting and preheat process you hold the start button for 3 seconds, not the Woodfire.
Do you think if you used the flat griddle plate on HI it would create the crispiest skin??? Thanks....
I think if you can maybe get a press to keep some weight on it so the skin keeps contact and add some oil it would.
I am using my new Woodfire grill for the first time and appreciate your visual cooking tips. I watched your video about testing different wood chips on the Ninja and you smoked the chicken thighs at 300 for 20 minutes. On this video you smoked the thighs at 375 for 20 minutes. Any noticeable differences in smoke taste or juiciness as you said both were completely cooked? Also do you ever use non-stick cooking spray on the air fry or grilling surfaces? Thanks for the videos.
The lower temp is smokier but the higher temp has a better skin texture. As far as juiciness they were both equal really. I never feel the need for any non stick spray. The coating on the ninja is so good.
I started using the regular ninja woodfire grill (just grill, smoker, air fryer settings are only available) and watching your channel, you've given me a lot of great tips. I do have a question on using the smoke setting only and I'm not finding any answers anywhere. It enables me to change the temp setting, but it will only allow me to go up to 12 minutes and nothing higher. If I use grill or air fry settings, the temp and timer both can be increased a lot more. Anybody have any suggestions, or is my unit having a problem? Please keep up with the great videos and recipe's.
I believe that 12 you are seeing is hours not minutes. The max on smoker is 12 hours.
OK, thanks for the info. I'll try to work with that the next time to see how the clock counts down.@@DadGotThis
It’s very versatile grill and this is a very comprehensive how to.
A few notes: it’s very compact and portable I use it even as a second side grill at friends parties, doing apps and whatnot-(the performance is guaranteed to impress your friends) but as an electrician, it pulls 1750 watts, which will blow a 15 amp breaker in a lot of situations. The solution is carry an extension cord to pick up a “clean” circuit. Invest in a short extension cord with min #14 conductor and even # 12 conductors if using over 100 feet. This overcomes voltage drop which adds to the life expectancy and the performance of the grill
Secondly, using Pam on the hot plates as well as the drip pan, makes clean up considerably easier.
Third,
The thermometer is a pricey option, but it does make cooking fully automated and virtually idiot proof if you are entertaining while cooking
Lastly
I’m torn on cleaning the inside of the lid. Grease and smoke will build up which adds a unique flavor patina over time (which I like) but the grease inevitably drips down the sides, making a bit of a mess.
I think you mean 1750 watts, not amps...because wow...that would trip just about anything. :)
@@Cryowolf1😂
awesome vid
can i get a Cast Iron version of that Ribbed Grill Grate you show at 1:00
would really like this if i could cook with cast iron instead of non stick
thanks for makin the vid
If you only want cast iron with no ceramic the only option I know of is for the Outdoor Oven. They offer a Cast Iron pan for it.
I used it in this video: Smoked Wings & Queso dip with Smokin Pecan Pellets on Ninja Woodfire Grill for the Big Game!
czcams.com/video/M1VbdWt3jB4/video.html
Great video thank you! Quick question, where did you get your shirt? I’d love to get one for my boss!!!
It is from RSVLTS, they are my favorite clothing brand hands down!
How do you reignite the pellets if you ran out? I've tried the start button but it doesn't go into that ignite mode
For that you actually hold the woodfire button (the flame) not the start button. I go over that here at 16:07 in the video. czcams.com/video/nbMIvY3p0wg/video.html
what is that knife and cutting board you were using?
The cutting board is from IKEA. It’s called the and was about $20. The knife is a “classic”. It’s a Ken Onion Damascus Shun Chef Knife. I know it’s a mouthful. I have had it for about 13 years! It’s old. I bought it for $150 as a Christmas present to myself. It is crazy but I’ve seen them sell for like $800!
Can I use wood chips for blending instead of pellets?
I have been asked this a lot. I have not tried it so I can not give you a yes or no answer.
Terrific video, as usual. By the way, your affiliate link's page np longer exists.
Thank you! The link should be fixed now. Thank you for pointing that out to me!
What kind of utensils do you use on the flattop? It's nonstick, so obviously we shouldn't use the steel flippers, etc, that we'd use on like a Blackrock.
Yeah, you have to use plastic or silicone tools.
Well I'm convinced. I'm getting one of these. Anyone wanna buy a Pit boss table top pellet smoker? Or a Blackstone 22' propane griddle?
Hahahaha.
Just picked one up at Kroger on clearance for $180. I already have gills and smokers... but I couldn't pass this up!
Also, I thought the fountain in the background was smoke coming out of the grill LOL.
That’s a smokin deal….see what I did there.
Couldn’t find no link below for the wings 🤔🤔brilliant video though👍🏻🏴
I had an issue where my descriptions got nuked and I had to redo them. I forgot to add the link. Here it is: The BEST Wings I've EVER MADE! Ninja Woodifire Airfried/Smoked with Filipino Adobo BBQ Glaze!!!
czcams.com/video/e2qYI_zwed8/video.html
Do you have to put the chicken thighs in the tray when using the air fryer mode?
I would guess you can do it without, I haven't tried it. I believe the reasoning for the basket is it raises the the food off the grate allowing for better/more airflow under the food producing a better crisp.
I'm exactly your targeted viewer. My WoodFire Pro just arrived and I've not yet cooked on it. At 2:50 you say that you'll provide a link to your chicken wings recipe. I can't locate it. Same with the pellet analysis video. What am I doing wrong?
I had them as pop ups in the video, sometimes that doesn’t work. I also added them as physical links in the description, not sure why they didn’t show the first time. Thanks for pointing it out. Enjoy the grill!!!
I have used my ninja wood fire grill 4 times and the lasttwo times it did start smoking while it ignited but then it was not smoking while cooking and the pellets quit burning . Is there something I’m doing wrong or do I have a problem? Thank you for your time!
Where do you store your pellets? Also you don’t get a plume of smoke the whole time. It actually turns to a very light “clean” smoke that can be hard to see.
@@DadGotThis I still have my pellets in the bag that came with the grill and I keep them in the garage. Maybe I should get a container to keep them in?
I don't taste a smoke flavor after the ignition and cook process. What am I doing wrong?
What are you cooking, what pellets are you using? How long are you cooking for?
The rule of thumb with any extension cable on anything use thinker wire than on the appliance especially with 110/120 volts lower voltage higher amps. You basically said that
And if you know you not doing a long cook do u fill hopper
Ps I’m waiting for my mine ordered on 13th
Good tip on the extension cord. I have never tried to not fill the hopper. I would think it would have problems igniting the way the heater is set up. I will need to test it now that you mentioned it.
@@DadGotThis I think others mentioned it I’m hoping will land tomorrow need know best stuff to buy if it lands … ps I’m in Uk getting too cold outside can see me smoking joints and finishing of in indoor ninga
Do you think it is possible to use it on the balcony of a building without bothering the neighbors with smoke?
Hmmm, it can get pretty smoky. Not like where someone would think there a fire but I guess it would depend on your neighbor. Startup is the most but after that it would be more the bbq smell.
Short answer is no. Even without the smoker function, it still creates significant smoke.
In the end I bought the Ninja, with the supplied pellets the smoke is acceptable and I have been using it regularly on my balcony for a month
@@soundmiami
Do you have to pre-smoke it or can just go just jump into it?
Not sure what you mean by pre-smoke? Once you set the unit to the smoker setting, load it with pellets and select your temp and time. You hit start. It will say IGN. At that point it is igniting the pellets and preheating the grill. When it’s ready it will say ADD FOOD. At that point you are ready to go.
@@DadGotThis I have a full-sized Targer grill and I before I could cook on it, I had to run it through one cycle (to include using pellets) before I could cook on it. Do I have to do that with the Ninja or can I just plug it in, fill it with pellets and add food?
@@behindenemylines3361 plug and go!
@@DadGotThisThanks
Great video. Thank you!
Because of this video i cooked Chicken first, do you have any Salmon videos?
Stay tuned!
The Mrs. Got a Ninja wood fire on deep discount at Costco. Tried it with chicken legs. Didn’t like it. Nowhere near as good as my propane grill or my big green egg or my other pellet smoker (the pellet I got for $40 in a garage sale). Returning ASAP.
Interesting. What was it that was lacking for you? I am really surprised you said your propane was even better.
Where's the link for the thermometer?
It should be there now. Sorry, I had an issue with my descriptions and had to redo a bunch of them and forgot to add that back in. Thank you for pointing that out.
@@DadGotThis22:19
Good video The manual that came with my unit is a joke !
Yes the manual could be much better.
How do grill and cock chicken so its juicy? When i cooked it on low & smoked it was really dry
First thing is what did you cook? Breast, thighs or legs? Thighs are more forgiving and stay juicier. Second is what temp did you cook the chicken to? Most people overcook chicken, causing it to be dry.
@@DadGotThis I cooked cubed breast (smaller) so I guess overcooked and needs less time. Other was a few wing pieces again
I will be doing a series on best practices for Chicken upcoming soon!
@@DadGotThis lovely stuff
@@DadGotThis lamb I cooked was brilliant. I guess it's because it's tougher (texture wise) in comparison to chicken
Don't get a "thick" cord. That doesn't mean a thing. Especially for anykind of heating device get a 12 GA (gauge ) cord
I'm from the UK and I also call it Tin Foil.
Ok, so I am not the only one!
I just saw pinakurat
It’s so good!
Great video , but please let viewer's know that the uk model has not got the same features and will not cold smoke , considering it is just a feature to turn the heating elements off and cant cost anymore to achive ,Ninja have decided us brits do not deserve the feature 😮
Well that stinks!
What about the Japanese version? Or the French?
@lour9348 agreed if the features are different and the machine looks the same it can be mis leading for viewers
@@richardmail1074 I was unaware they did that for the Brits.
@@lour9348 I am not sure.
like all cooking video I had to go. Everyone eats right in the mic. Just makes me cringe. What I got to see was good.
I have been more concise about it in later videos. I always try to mute the sound or cut the chewing out totally.
I love this guys attitude lmfaoooo they assume youre going to smoke....on the smoker setting. Eyes. 😂 Like hes explaining this to children hahahahah im ded. You got my subscription buddy. My girlfriend just got this, im watching the setup video for her to help. Cool little gadget!!
