Looking at this now, realizing that Ms. Reagan had just a dozen (roughly) years remaining to live, is kind of frightening. She was so young, smart, articulate and refreshing and she died at a time when it seems she still had so much left to offer the world. Even more tragic is the fact of her demise before both her parents, who lived into their nineties.

Maureen was certainly intelligent lovely and charming. It is so sad she died young and never was able to achieve what she certainly would have. Maybe she would have been in Congress or some other political appointment. I think she ran for Congress once but lost. She was definitely her father's daughter. Seems like Jane Wyman was a less than stellar mother

Maureen wasn't old when she died but at 60, she wasn't young, and in fact had more than enough time to accomplish whatever she intended. She also had the resources. Ms. Reagan died at an age when most people are considering retirement, if they hadn't already retired.

Jane Wyman was Falcon Crest. I hated having to hate her as Angela Channing but it’s all because she was an extremely talented actress and the Oscar for Johnny Belinda, and theee other nominations proved it. Falcon Crest was the only nighttime soap with wit, humour, and those unexpected season ending plots. An planned reboot would be great but it will never be the same without Jane Wyman. RIP.

It's truly strange that Reagan's two adopted children seemed more comfortable and "naturally" theirs than their two biological children. If you studied both sets of kids, other than physical resemblance, you would assume that Maureen and Michael were the biological kids and Patti and Ron were the adopted ones. The adopted kids are just so much more like them. I've always found this astonishing.

It seems so distant and I m not that old, a time where no matter the political aisle we could be decent towards one another, tolerant, polite, respectful, enjoy life, above all have important meaningful discussions. It angers me the lack of education, because of some evil people infiltrating our society and now in 2020 everything has changed horribly, the America post Obama'Presidency resemble more the Soviet Union turning people into social savages, or zombies, spewing antiAmerican, antisemitic garbage, people categorized though identity politics! Oprah who by this time was rich and famous, 30 yrs later even richer than then, goes around talking about "whitness", she is the worst, just pure evil!Sad

Jane Wyman wasn't fully reared by her parents who eventually divorced. Afterward, she went to live with relative strangers, so she didn't have a true childhood experience and was forced to grow up quickly. I'm sure that impacted her maternal skills where her children were concerned. Maureen was shipped off to boarding school at age seven, so her childhood was effectively over from that point. It's sad when you think about it but she wasn't truly afforded the opportunity to develop a strong mother-daughter bond.

I will be honest...I liked Reagan, his wives, his children...I do not understand their politics. I cannot, for the life of me, and I am not some bleeding heart do-gooder who thinks I am so more morally above self interest...but...I do not get where these privileged, well to do, people of money and connections, believe for one minute, they can identify with those who have not. I get it, you are self made, or are children of self made people...but in that, you of all people, should know, the struggle is real. desperation form poverty in real. hopelessness, homelessness, hunger, no heath care, is REAL...and your political lean, does not even care to address these social and moral issues, on your belief, government has not place in this. that the wealthy should not contribute more because they have more, because it is not their problem, or better yet, it is a punishment to those who are successful in life, to be expected to contribute more, because they made it, and others did not. wow...if government's duty is not to ensure the well being of its own citizens...then what good is it to us, other than being the big bully on the corner, protecting us form the boogie man who wants to hurt us. I mean that is a good thing...but is that all we get in government? if it is, it is a waste of all that money the government collect sin taxes, if addressing the direct needs of its people, means so little to those elected to leadership/ now, I am stepping down, off my soapbox. thank you.
