This video is just a "sneak peak". A more official listing & video will be created when we return to the States. By entering your information at the link above, you'll be able to view the upcoming "official listing & video" before the sale is openly advertised.
Sale timeframe will be around June / July.
For sale by owner.
No broker. No commission.
Price will be around 20k!
FYI: The asking price when we purchased this boat was $28,000. She's been improved and enhanced substantially throughout our ownership, but we're selling for MUCH less than she was originally advertised for. WHY? Well, it's because we know the nature of boats. It's because we want a quick sale. It's because we're not trying to recoup every nickel we spent on her. It's because, like all boats, she's not perfect. At a price of around 20k, we feel like we're being very realistic about her value. We'd rather her sell super-fast so that we can start searching for our next boat right away. I hope that helps communicate our perspective on why we intend to sell her so "cheaply".

Folks this is a good buy Ben and family has did a great job taking care of the boat.it is very hard to buy a boat today without spending lots of money on and a lot of down time .this baby is ready to go
I was pretty troubled until I heard BIGGER BOAT!!! Whew!!!
It's still troubling for us.
Even posting this video hurts me. :)
Get a hold of Delos I think they are going to get a new boat soon.
Same here Brad! I was like WHAT!!! Then....whew!
@@Mikesroadtrip-ec5kp
HA. You funny. :)
@@Mikesroadtrip-ec5kp , I haven't seen that from their videos. Last plan was for Kazza and Brian to fly to Sweden for their baby. Brady will take Delos across the Atlantic to the Azores with Blue and some new crew.
I just the same boat! Bringing it home next week. Can’t wait to set it up like you guys. Looks great!
She's a good one.
You guys are great = I hope that you found a great buyer and an even better option for your comfort.
We certainly did. Fast forward a bit and check out our new boat.
My heart skipped a beat...selling Sandflea??????? It cannot be true! Then I heard, ' we are going to buy a bigger boat'........that was relief! Lots of good memories with Sandflea, she is like one of the family I guess. Sad but apparently necessary.
Good luck with a search and purchase, I am sure you will buy well. Thanks for sharing!
When you actually go to sell it, one of the big selling features especially with you being in the Caribbean and Banhamas a lot is all those opening ports that you have with screens! Oh....I would be glad to adopt Molly...LOL! She would get an immediate promotion from Swab to First Mate with of course a pay raise. So Molly....hit dad up for an increase in your allowance....ha ha ha! Love your videos hope you guys are around for a long time to come! You are true ambassadors to the sailing community!
Thanks very much.
I especially appreciate the last line. :)
Hey what's up guys my name is Giovanni I live in Miami I live in Coconut Grove as well on a sailboat on a 31 ft Bristol I've been watching a lot of videos you guys post and I totally love your Vibe your energy that's called life if the whole entire world would liveaboard I think the world would be very relaxing I don't keep up the good work amazing video and Specialty great energy 👍
Thanks very much. The world would certainly be more appreciative of the small things and in much less of a rush if we all lived on boats. if we all traveled more, we'd have greater natural perspective on humanity as well - MUCH better than the false perspectives taught to us by the TV. Indeed, boat life does great things for most people.
Sailed one from Tittusville Fla to Falmouth UK. A very seaworthy boat. 96 Nautical miles a day.
Fantastic video. You have done a great job with the upkeep of her. Molly is growing up so fast. Love to you all. Aunt Carolyn
A great buy for someone! Good luck in your search for a new boat!
Look forward to following your adventures for a bigger boat.
Phew!! So glad you're not giving up. I was concerned something drastic may have happened to your lovely family!
You loved her well and soon she'll sell... a steal of a deal for such great boat with all the new kit! I'm in the market for a solo sailboat and if I was smart I'd save my money and snag up your little sand flea, but I'm a glutton for bankruptcy, I think... I really want a catamaran! Good luck, sweet family. Looking forward to your next well thought out shopping, purchase and refit extravaganza...then on with new adventures and watching Molly become more than just a swabbie! 😉😄
Looking forward to finding out what the next boat will be. Don't forget to take the motion comfort ratio into account, the girls will greatly appreciate it!
One shark encounter. And now we are gonna need a bigger boat...
Ha. Pretty good!
I've been in this boat (virtually) so many times I feel like I know it pretty well. GLWTS, She has given you many, many great miles of wonderful memories. I am sure teenage Molly would like her own hull, so I would look for a Catamaran. :-)
PS - I would adopt Molly in a heartbeat, even for just a little while. She is an angel.
We just bought an Endeavour 43. Loads of space and headroom!
Mollys Look...Priceless!
Chuck Crawford
I was waiting for a video of those cute little teeth coming out. She’s growing up so fast!
She seems like they’re raising one amazing, adventurous , laid back kiddo!
Yeah, that's not creepy at all.
Yes you have put in a lot of time, energy, effort and expense and I have thoroughly enjoyed the effort and journey. That being said, we will now get to see it all over again. Unless you buy new Ah, the life of a growing cruising family.
I can assure you that we will not being buying new.
Hope you don't mind watching the whole boat search and refit thing all over again!
Greatly anticipating your sense of humor in the endeavor.
Hopefully the sense of humor remains intact.
Riiiight!! I learn so much from watching the search. And Tambi teaches me to be patience and tolerance, LOL!
The old 'evil eye', shut 'im right up. LOL
Hello Ben, Tambi, & Molly,
Happy to hear that you are going to make the next step up in your cruising plans by getting a bigger Boat to cover your ACTIVITIES. I hope you make a fast and smooth transition from the SandFlea into the next Sailboat y'all Purchase. The SandFlea certainly has been well maintained by Swabby Molly, and Ben as the head Mechanic. I've never heard of y'all having any major problems over the past few years, It looks like a nice clean, ready to go sailing boat. Good Luck on your Plans, Love Y'all.
Yes, better separation of our sleeping spaces is becoming more and more important.
That, and also just the need for more space in order to lengthen our trips and allow for more gear - like our SCUBA gear. ;)
@@Sailboatstory
It looks like Tambi has filled every Nook and Cranny with something, so it's definitely that time when a bigger boat is needed. It looks like you have enough supplies to last for quite a bit of time. Scuba Gear and a few other toys for Molly to play with would be a nice addition.
Oh yes. We're PAST max capacity for our current storage situation.
We lust over the idea of bringing our SCUBA equipment and having an onboard compressor.
Oooooooh, man that would be nice!

It's all Molly's fault ! LoL
Good luck with the next boat !
Selling our boat (Salty Lass) would break our hearts, but hopefully you will get over selling yours and Sandflea 2 will keep the adventures rolling.
Good luck selling the SandFlea..ive co.e to terms about selling my 1977 Pearson 35..its a tough call, but I wont be cruising anymore and she is a cruising vessel.
Odd how you can become so attached to an inanimate object, isn't it?
Do you guys already have an idea in mind of what you will be looking for in your next boat? Another monohull? Catamaran? What's the max length you are thinking of going for? Will you consider a boat that requires some refitting or do you want sail away ready? Any particular brand of sailboat you favor over others? Good luck and looking forward to seeing the future vlogs of your boat search, purchase and possible repairs.
There are so many variables. Most likely monohull. 37-40ft in length, most likely. I don't mind a project boat, as long as we can use it while we work on it. Concerning brands, we'll likely be looking at the Pearson/Catalina level of boats and not the Hinkley/Hans Christian/Gozzard level. One of the main one's I'm curious about is the Endeavour 38. Really like Valiant 40s, but price is likely out of our range for most of them. To me, what's more important than brand, when dealing with old boats, is how well they've been maintained - still a good pedigree also goes a long way.
Valid points and solid thinking. I like to do searches of different boats (specifically bluewater capable) even though I'm not currently in a position to purchase one to replace my boat -although plans could change if the right one came available...lol! Looks like the Endeavour 38s have really good engine access and beautiful interiors with adequate space. I came across a couple Endeavour 38s in SC and FL in a internet search:www.yachtworld.com/boats/1984/endeavour-38-3226840/?refSource=browse listingwww.yachtworld.com/boats/1985/endeavour-38-3507153/?refSource=browse listingThe first link has a beautiful blue hull and excellent interior. The other one is not too bad on the inside - kind of a different layout from one year to the next. The Valiant 40s that I found were a little older and prices varied anywhere from $69000 up to $159,000.Good luck in your search for your next boat.
Exciting times, cant wait to watch the new boat search.
It's going to be, well... sucky - but at least it makes for good video.
Your family is adorable!
I’m the guy that stopped by in the Mini Cooper when you were on the hard. I would be interested in purchasing
Thanks, Barry. I remember!

Good move guys! Way back when we were a 2 young child family and my dad spent 2 years and almost a divorce rebuilding his first boat 24' oa ( as in sawed the deck off!) ,I had a nice little v berth with toilet between ..... then along came a brother....... so my dad built a sort of cot from canvas and 2 poles over the toilet for the 'baby' ......but the writing was on the wall and 3 years later he was looking for a new boat.........
Cheers Warren
Can't wait to see the new boat!
Wishing you the best of luck. Plenty of great boats for sale in the area (I'm in St. Augustine). I've had a friend turn down several and I'm like 'are you nuts!!!!' But he wants the perfect boat instead of one that's 'good enough'. To each their own....
Keep us informed when we get to the shopping stage again.
Best luck! Don't get rid of Molly!
bitter sweet... good luck !!!
Wish I was ready to get a boat, but won't be ready for another two years! Darn!
Good luck with the sale 👍😎
Thanks very much!
Nooooo!!! It’s about 2 years too soon for me. If y’all could just hang on to it for another year or so that’d be great. 😜
Somebody is going to be getting a really nice lil boat.
Please put me on your list to notify, I may get lucky and our daughter may drop out of college freeing up a lot of fundages. 💸💸💸
I just hope that when we do get our boat, we find that diamond in the rough like this one.
Multi-Hull time! Or moving up to a bluewater cruiser! Keep in mind the 40' issue in the Bahamas, Florida and the Carib... Sometimes they gotta anchor way out cause the mooring are for 40' and less.
Price seems a bit lite though... See them selling for 25-28k in the Chessie, well asking price anyways. That's superbly equipped! At 20ish it won't last long.
Oceanis 390 or 393... Would be sweet. 3 cabins too.
HA. I think we'll be looking at monos just because there are so many of them out there.
The 40' wouldn't be an issue for us in the Bahamas. We're never tied to a mooring. :) Personally, I don't trust them.
Yep, the price is indeed light - but we want to price it accurately instead of padding it.
At least 2 cabins is a must, 3 would be even better.
Probably looking at center cockpits in the 37-40ft range.
@@Sailboatstory I saw and read stories of the inner moorings at Hopetown breaking just this past winter (that one I'd stay away from). A CC in that range would give you guys the "honeymoon" cabin in the back with a second complete head. Stay away or be very picky with the Irwins in that size. They got everything going for them but they were built quickly. Some are great, some not so. But priced perfectly.
I'm sure we'll see some video's on this... ; )
Honeymoon cabin sounds sooooooooooooo goooooooooooood. :)
Good job guys
I could use a crew, would buy Molly if you were willing to sell. I'd buy the boat, but someone would have to buy my MacGregor powersailor before I'd have a big enough stack of cash to give you. All the upgrades and restoration you've done makes your boat a really sweet deal. I've bought old, beat up boats because they were cheap, then spent more than you are asking to restore them. Best of luck on selling and then again on the buying.
Thanks very much! Hoping it sells quickly upon our return so we can start the search all over again.
I was stricken until I heard, "...bigger boat." :D
Only $20k? There is so much extra in the boat just in the engine alone that makes this boat worth so much more. You all will sell this quick!! Hope you find a bigger boat with so much care and extras like yours has, maybe someone who wants to trade even. Good luck! 👍🙂
Yes indeed. We found most sellers tended to ask 2-3 times what their boat is worth and we were extremely frustrated by this trend while we were searching for our boat. 20k sounds low because it is, especially considering the TENS OF THOUSANDS in equipment, maintenance, and overhead that has gone into our boat, BUT 20k is a realistic number based on the boat's true & depreciated value. I think the mistake most sellers make is that they don't depreciate the costs involved... and boats depreciate RAPIDLY. It hurts to be that honest with yourself about it, but we think that in doing so we're setting ourselves up for SUCCESS by pricing the boat for a quick sale that will allow us to get a jump on finding the next boat sooner than later.
Sailboat Story y’all have anything in mind? You guys gonna rent something when you return if you do sell? We had felt displaced after bringing Norna to Maine, and were super grateful to friends and family for letting us housesit while we finished fixing up the VW bus. It was taxing, however, mentally, and brought on a lot of hard work. Glad to have the majority of it done now. We will be launching Norna this summer, leaving her in a barn in Maine and returning for the winter to our Pacific Seacraft, which will be ready for us to live on (on the hard) when we return. Still a lot to do, and a lot of money to spend, so yeah, $20k will sell quick!
@@Sailboatstory Sorry but I disagree strongly. The state is the value, and not the age. You increased the value big time and have a video documentation of the way you have taken care of her.
Awesome video! Sorry you have to sale the boat, but your are right, you have to grow as Molly grows. Thanks for sharing.
That's basically it.
Wish us luck!
Awwww Molly doesn't look impressed about selling the boat. Kids get attached. Ben's she's a very good boat and you guys have made her look amazing.
Good lord you scared the you know what out of me! So thankful you just need a bigger ⛵️ we would be lost without your adventures!!
Happy to hear that you like us that much. :)
What a fantastic outro from Molly !
She really did pick that one up and run with it!
Great price nice boat
Ironic. My family and I have spent the last who-knows-how-many-months watching ALL of your videos from the very first all the way to the most recent (this one) and we've finally made it. Ironic because it would be the episode where you're announcing intentions to sell the boat (we know you mentioned selling it prior to the season last year, but nothing came of that). Looking forward to the rest of the season and your new boat in the future. FINALLY we're current. :)
Time to start over from the beginning? ;)
I bet that was odd timing.
Soo, are y'all starting a new refit Ben? Love your channel. Best reg from Over Yander, NORWAY.
Pretty good price Ben.... is Tambi included lol.... Good luck.
I would love to buy your boat! Except I'm in Australia! Dang...... and I want a catamaran....
Hi guys, good luck with the sale of Sandflea. I have enjoyed your videos, especially the early ones of the repairs and outfitting the boat for cruising so now I'm curious about your next move, will you be looking for something that it's ready to sail or a boat that needs some TLC?
Both. I don’t mind having to work on the boat, but I’d like to be able to use it while we work on it. Basically, I want the stuff the counts to be useable - rigging, sails, motor, rudder, hull, etc. it can be rough around the edges, sure. It can be very systems basic. Nothing fancy.
I really like how you used all the proper nautical terms for the description of Your Vessel so many people will call it a kitchen call a bathroom and so many other incorrect terms. A couple of things that I was hoping to hear in this description was the beam the draft type of keel type of shaft support system and rudder. I'm also very interested on your thoughts of your future vessel are you considering a catamaran. I'm looking at the leopard 38 shaft drive if I could afford one of the other larger leopards with a shaft drive I'd get that but well that's about all I can afford. love the videos can't wait to see your thoughts on your new vessel
Well thanks Kevin. I figured all the standard dimensional info could be looked up on sailboatdata.com.
No, we're not seriously considering a catamaran.
It's a matter of needing to stretch our budget as far as it can go, and that's easier done in the vast, depressed monohull market rather than the tight, active catamaran market.
There are certainly come things we like about a catamaran, but I think we'll end up with a better boat overall by putting our dollars into a well below market mono.
A 38' Leopard does sound awesome though.
Shes' clean vessel captain well maintained by top notch mates !
Aye.
Glad to hear its so you can buy a larger one, for Molly. When you get a larger boat you can come down south to Australia. When you do that, I'm over on the southwest corner of Western Australia in a place called Bunbury. Drop by and I'll shout ya all a cuppa and a feed... ;-}
Shane Flanegan , and don’t forget to come to Melbourne Australia as well.
Dang, it better be a REAL good cuppa & feed. :)
Sailboat Story , well if you come to Melbourne Australia, I will cook you a. Five course meal. Only one thing you have to do is give a talk at my yacht club. Are you in ?
Capt Chef Mark SV Alcina ; Bit hard to beat that but I hope they manage to get over to my side of the island anyway... ;-}
Nick and Theresa at Sailing Yacht Ruby Rose have Ruby Rose for sale. Just saying.
Not again? They tried to sell when they were in the states.
Cawffee_ Tyme , not seriously ,but it's a Vat paid boat so a better buy in EU.
Off topic but, you guys should buy your next boat far far away and see some different sailing grounds. Buy up in Washington state and check out the Canadian west coast. Can't swim as much but mind blowingly beautiful.
We've done a lot of talking about trying to buy one in Canada.
Might snag a cheap RV and spend some time searching around up North to leverage the exchange rate.
Sailboat Story way too expensive up here Ben. Most people buy their sailboats in Washington and pay the nasty amounts of taxes and then they are still cheaper than buying here.
Congratulations. I was wondering when it would happen. Now I know!
Out Island 41 ketch! (owner of gulfstar 41)
Adventure adrift has a boat for sale in Hawaii.
Also several big boats in deale md
@@br5498 not really if was the case would not be trying to sale both and take the one that didnt sale does need work as all boats do
Good luck i hope you make a good deal and sell soon.
Catamaran market here we come!!! ;-)
Someone is going to get a very good boat at a reasonable price. Turnkey and ready for cruising. I own the same boat and can attest that she is rock solid in a seaway and very forgiving. Shallow draft (4.5’) but with the modified fin keel she can be easily balanced to hold her course. The interior is surprisingly large. We only do a night or two with the whole family but we sleep five people and a small dog with ease. Ben and company have obviously done a wonderful job of maintaining and improving their boat. The lucky buyer will be getting a known quantity. Other than many happy hours of entertainment I have not been compensated for this endorsement.
the draft on the 1979 endeavour 32 fixed keel is 4.2'
Eh, more like 8ft with all our crap on it. ;)
Adventure Adrift has two boats for sale, the smaller one 37' is ready to go as is.
Sorry for Sandflea....
Would be perfect for ma as a single retiree...I would be your first customer!
But no money! Very small fixed income!
Good luck for the three of you....and a larger SV!

Wow, your the Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark with that comment.
If anyone saw the dingy build and it was included, you could ask an extra ten thousand. I think we all love and enjoy your family. Let the voyages continue.
Yeah, I felt the need to clarify that the dinghy was NOT included. :)
Delighted to hear that you will keep Bonnie. Good luck with the sale of Sand Flea and with the search for her replacement.
Thanks Sir Peter.
HI Ben, I know what you paid for the boat and with all the time, effort and improvements you have made along with constant up keep $20,00 will be a great buy for someone and I know you will be losing money. Surprised you will not be asking more, guess you are trying to pass along a great boat a great deal. Good Luck and I hope that the sale of Sand Flea brings you a larger vessel for your sailing enjoyment along with our love of watching your videos.
It's a great boat and a DEAL at 20k, for sure. I'd rather take a fair price and move on quickly.
Whats more important to me is to keep moving and not get stalled on waiting months or years for a boat to sell that has been priced wrong. I see it all the time, even the overwhelming majority of the time, unfortunately.
Subject: Re: New reply on "Price is kinda high for its age"
I guess living on the coast as I do, the marinas always have a number of decent sailboats that people get tired of and just want to get rid of and let them go fairly cheap because they also are still paying for slots or dry docking fees . Guess I'm just spoiled Lol. I Enjoy y'all's video's though, keep it up : )
Beautiful boat. If my wife would allow me I'd take it. #SheDoesntLikeSailing #ILiveThroughYou #HoldsEverythingInPlace #ISeeWhatYouDid :)
Not too surprised by your decision to "boat up" by a few extra feet. Molly is indeed growing up and she will want more privacy soon. Her space has been fine but as she gets older & bigger, more room is a priority. San Flea is a beautiful boat and your efforts will not go unnoticed by potential buyers.
Thanks Edward!
I thought you kids added AC as well? In the area of the world you sail in, that is a huge benefit!
Nope. We ditched 2 rusted ac units that came in it. We don’t miss ac when at anchor, but it dies get hot at a marina.

thats a fine looking boat! good video. I see the thumbs up has disappeared.
But what about the alternator? Does it have a good alternator? Don't want to get stuck someplace remote with a bad one, Lol. 32 foot boat. Served you well and great for you to learn on, now it's time to find a bigger boat for sure. Maybe one with an aft cabin for Molly. Another nice video, keep up the great work and hopefully you''ll find a perfect boat to replace Sandflea. Hopefully my Patreon is working, if not let me know. Jeff
Not 1 but 2 good alternators! Tambi and I would love an aft cabin. I think Patreon is working. Have you not noticed large, repeat debits occurring? :)
Fabulous plan, I hope you get a good deal. Now for the big question, are you looking cat or mono? Cheers.
Mono, most likely.
Not completely opposed to a cat, but more opportunity in the mono market.
that is a spacious boat for a 32.
It is. Especially the vberth, and also the storage spaces.
Boat is great but 20k is way too low!!
When I sell things, I price them aggressively.
What happens is that I don't waste time, money, energy, and overhead baby-sitting the "sale".
There's a lot to be said about what's actually SAVED by "losing" a little off the top by pricing low.
IMO what seems low only feels that way because most boats are listed at drastically inflated prices to begin with.
@@Sailboatstory Yeh the bartering thing is not all that fun.
@@Sailboatstory I have a Tartan 34 so I dont need a boat. If I did, I would pay you the 20 and come to the Bahamas, ask you to just leave everything, and fly you home. (the girls too, I have one of my own). I used to do the same thing but everyone wants to get at least a 30 percent discount off the asking price, especially with boats and cars. But I am sure you know what you are doing. Watching your videos I can see that you have a good boat easily worth more.... As long as Sailboat Story has a sailboat in it, no matter which one, I will keep watching!!!!
@@Sailboatstory Good thinking, case in point, new tires don't increase the sale price of a car. The labor of love which is clear here, has no price tag. I know you are proud of your boat and you should be, it's beautiful, just looking at it made my mind have memories that haven't happened yet. Good luck.

Yep, the name goes.
Sorry guys I totally misspelled
Did you remove the black water tank?
We didn't. Was out when we bought it.

Yep. 6ft.

three vids in one week
OK, I’m interested, but only if the deal includes the mermaid!
The Cutty Sark is for sale............just mentioning
What is that?
What stat is the boat located in?
Bahamas. Spanish Wells at the moment.
Will be in Green Cove Springs, FL around late June most likely.
Are you willing to through in the swabbie as part of the deal? lol
I was going to ask the same question, but then he flashed the price on the screen. With an excellent swabbie like Molly the opening bid would have been $1,020,000 or like @Larry Gee pointed out $1,030,000 with the dingy. So I think it is safe to assume the answer is ........NO!
It's a beautiful dream. Someday please God. Glws
Hope ya take use along finding new boat
Are you guys going for a Cat ?
Doubt it. Most likely sticking with a mono.
🤪🤣Need more clarification on one item: is it that you don’t use the toilet paper roll holder or you don’t use toilet paper? 🤪🤣

I don't think I'd want the responsibility of maintaining something that was brand new.
There's something nice about having a boat that's a bit "broken in".
That's a bargain I reckon. Sooooo far away from Oz though.
Oh I'm sorry the boat turned on to be too small. What next I wonder?
Oh, don't feel sorry.
It was PERFECT for us to learn on and get a good taste of this lifestyle.
Is it sold?
Sold.
what boat are you looking for next?
Not really sure of different models yet. We just have a list of requirements that we need to match up.
Basically comes down to bigger and more divided spaces.
I'll share more "boat search" details as we progress towards that.
Dinghy included?
It can be, but the price goes up $50,000.
