    I love making silk flowers and think the addition of the blush edge to the petals makes this rose look more realisitic. You can adapt this method to make roses of different sizes and shapes, and can add as many or as few petals as you like. Silk flowers are a great way to use up even the smallest scraps from other projects too.

    Hello, thank you for this video. I would like to ask you how you heat the brass flower making tools, in the video I saw that you directly put the fire? How many mins you leave to brass there and which is the product or products you use for the heating? I have my grandmother's brass making tools same as yours, I am looking for a material to heat them.

    • @RockstarsandRoyalty
      @RockstarsandRoyalty  Před 4 lety +2

      I heat them in a small burner. from a camping shop that runs on meths. They different amounts of time to heat depending on the size and if they've been heated already during the project. I usually keep some scrap fabric nearby to test them on to see if they're hot enough to shape the petals as I'm working.

    Do you know any way to make ones that won't fall apart if you wash them? I want to be able to use these on dresses and still be able to fix it if someone spills stuff on it or I fall in something.

    Beautiful flower!
    What fabric you are using? Is it synthetic silk or real silk....will it fray?
    How to stop fraying of the fabric?

    • @RockstarsandRoyalty
      @RockstarsandRoyalty  Před 3 lety +3

      It's silk satin. You need to stiffen the fabric to help the petals hold their shape and to stop fraying.

    Great video!!
    Do you have a video of how to make the pouch to mould the flower?

    • @RockstarsandRoyalty
      @RockstarsandRoyalty  Před 3 lety +2

      I don't have a video but it's really simple to make - it's just 2 rectangles of calico (I used a double layer), filled with sand and sewn shut. Any tightly woven cotton fabric would work. Sew the 2 layers right sides together along 3 sides. Turn in the right way. Put the sand in. Then turn the open end in and machine stitch it closed. Don't overfill it with the sand otherwise you won't be able to push into it to shape the petals. Mine is about three quarters full. Hope that helps

      If you google 'brass flower making tools' you should be able to find some. Sorry I couldn't help more. Thanks for watching.

    Hi, what glue do you use?

    • @RockstarsandRoyalty
      @RockstarsandRoyalty  Před 4 lety +1

      Tacky glue. I find that if you let it dry a little bit first then it holds really well as you assemble the flower.

      I usually use silk satin, stiffened with a fabric stiffener or watered down pva. I've had good results with silk dupion and silk organza in the past too.

      It is, but it's worth the time to end up with a high quality, one-off piece when needed. I often use mass-produced fabric flowers too, but use this technique when I need to create something unique or more special than you can buy ready-made.

      Hi Annette, I'm sorry you're having trouble with the video and I'm not sure what to suggest. It's working fine for me and I've got some friends to look at it on various devices, from mobile phones to desk tops and tvs, and they can all see it fine too. Maybe send CZcams a message and they might be able to suggest a way to help.

      How is the edges sealed automatically without candle burning or other liquids
      Am guessing but want to make sure with your answer
