2118PWLily yeah, I feel the same. Not everyone has a roll of washi already at home. I just use correction tape, it works fine. And bookmark? Stick a small triangle piece of whatever colour of your choice on to a paperclip, then clip it to the side or the top. It's really up to you to find the best way to bullet journal.

For those intimidated by the prettiness of all these journals, please look up the original Bullet Journal video by Ryder Carroll on YT. Your bullet journal does NOT have to be pretty. It can be simple- as long as it's functional and has the key elements of the system, then you're good to go.

gennalie that is so true, but to be honest it looks great. I use a similar system for when I study, and not only are my friends jealous of the colour, but I can study much better now

DeaDei I thought that to but I started one any way. I did get tired of drawing those banners but I just simplified it so it takes 2 seconds. Even if you don't want to make it pop or creative in any way than don't that's totally fine
You don't have to make it look pretty if you want it to look pretty go for it, if not don't worry about it. I feel like this video, while informative, pushes the agenda that it has to look nice and stylistic.
I think it only feels like it pushes it is because the diary itself was pretty, but that's only cause pretty things keep our attention when watching videos. It implied several times to do it your own way and how you could. Most people do want their stuff to be pretty though :)
DeaDei i felt the same way, but thats why you can edit it to fit you. you can make it as simple or as complicated, simple one day, messy another, and its all okay. :"D
even tho it doesnt help,since i wanted my first bujo month to be perfect it took me around 4 hours to do all of it and i still have 3 weeks left to design

I really admired the way video was presented as it gave me plenty of new ideas and didn't feel boring or an additional task at all 😊😊
A lot of people are missing out on this because instagram makes it seem like bullet journals only exist to look pretty. Trust me,that's not the point. Of course if you enjoy decorating it and drawing everything that's great,but it's really just a journal,and you can do whatever you want in it. You don't have to show it to other people,it's meant to be practical,so you can organize yourself. Journaling should be fun and *reduce* stress, so please don't overwhelm yourself trying to make every header perfect!
I like how the person isn’t talking and making things much faster and easier while some are just people talking and what to do for so long. Plus I can understand this and it gives me more ideas on what to do in my journal.
I’m so glad this video just gets to the point. I think this is great for anyone needing to get started and I am so happy there’s no voiceover! Sometimes people talk too much in videos where they’re showing you how to do something. 😄

i started bullet journalling almost a year ago and it was probably the best thing i ever did for myself. the best year of my life, recorded MY way. i seriously recommend it. buy a fun journal, some pens, stickynotes, and washi tape and go at it!

i'm a tech person myself, so it takes literally seconds to plan something in an app. 10+ minutes a day in a bujo can be a bit much if you're busy and distracted.

I literally have a bunch of boxes, I finished a whole year in 13 pages. I color code events, and have a habit tracker. That's it, and sometimes I do some illustration in the background if I feel like it

BadassQuin Yes, you can use whatever you want but the most common bullet journal is a leuchtturm1917, moleskine or dotted white muji notebook. people use these because it's easier to bulletjournal on squared or dotted paper.
