    Poultry feed accounts for more than 80% of the cost of poultry production. Right now, the increasing cost of feeds is driving many poultry farmers out of business. Making your own feeds would cut down costs while increasing the profit margin of your poultry farming.
    Success in the poultry farming business mostly depends on feeding quality feed and feed formulation system. For proper growth, egg production and good health, poultry birds require energy. In order to obtain the desired growth rate, you must have to purchase and provide highly nutritious poultry feed. Except for adequate and quality feeding, you can’t run your business properly.

    • @poultryfeedformulation
      @poultryfeedformulation  Před 2 lety

      1. Meat and Bone Meal
      The typical meat and bone meal has about the same protein level as soyabean meal. However, it has the advantage of also being high in calcium and phosphorus, 10% and 5%, respectively
      2. Peanut Meal
      This ingredient has become increasingly available during the past few years. Peanut meal has about the same protein as soyabean meal (47-48%).
      3. Cottonseed Meal
      Cottonseed meal has somewhat less protein than soy (approximately 42%) and like peanut meal, is not a good source of lysine.
      4. Distiller’s Dried Gains with Solubles
      This ingredient, commonly known as DDGS, is a by-product of fermentation.
      All of the ingredients mentioned above are priced lower than soyabean meal, and might be considered when attempting to produce a lower cost feed.

      He says it makes 100 kg or 220 lbs roughly ...each bird will need a lb of food a week for 6-8 weeks so if we say 7 weeks this will feed 30 birds. For layers you feed them starter until they are this age and then you feed them grower until they lay their first egg which then you feed the layer feed... All you do in this situation would be feed them ground shells or bones seperate from their feed...they know how much to eat.

    • @poultryfeedformulation
      @poultryfeedformulation  Před 2 lety +1

      @@soumareoumar1631 Cottonseed meal is the byproduct remaining after cotton is ginned and the seeds crushed and the oil extracted. The remaining meal is usually used for animal feed and in organic fertilizers.
      Naming and categorizing cottonseed meals is particularly difficult. Although cotton seed cake (high residual oil, not ground) and cotton seed meal (low residual oil, ground) should correspond to different products, they are often indistinguishable in the literature as authors tend to use both terms as synonyms. The levels of decortication are often unknown or not well described.
