- This is Yoshi's Super Mario themed freestyle! He placed third in this freestyle which led us to place third overall in the finals. Very proud of this boy!
Howdy! My name is Camille and I have a passion for gentling wild mustangs. Wild horses and burros are overpopulated in the western United States, so to keep population numbers from rising, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) periodically gathers wild mustang and offers them for adoption to eligible homes. I train mustangs to make them suitable for domestic lives and to show the world how amazing these underdogs can be. Subscribe to follow along with my mustang journey!

@@makynliecharlton4039 if you're interested (since you said you didn't have Instagram) Camille just posted a picture saying she had just said goodbye to Yoshi today and he's going off to do endurance in his new home.
She's really sad to see him go but thinks his new owner is a really good match 😊

I loved your freestyle so much, and I honestly believed that you won the fan favorite despite the judge. His decision was clearly based off of an inappropriate and sexist personal opinion.

Watched the top ten here at home, I don't think we heard all that was going on. No music during the top 10 free style. Wonder what the judge said about Camille. Now hearing her music its even better. She rode her free style with the funniest and animated SMILE for sure! Yoshi was having a ball too.! Don't know how they figure out Fan Favorite but for sure she was. Susan
@@martylesnick2032 Yeah, I think they had to mute the music due to copyright reasons. He didn't say that about Camille but another competitor. Camille really did such an amazing job! I'm so glad we got to see it with the music. :-)

We didn't get to see Yoshi after he was brushed out. I would have loved seeing him cleaned up and under saddle without the costume.

this freestyle was creative and amazing to watch! I just was also wondering if it is better to use a rope halter/lead or is a halter with metal clips also works? i have seen both just wondering what is best for mustangs! and again you and Yoshi did A W E S O M E!!

Cute, but somethin' up with that horse, it does not want to lead with the right unless forced to do so. I'm aware it's a mustang fresh off the range, but still, unsound is unsound and it would barely canter/lope and kept dropping to trot/jog. anyhow, just sayin' I don't think it's entirely sound. Cute concept and ideas though.
i was there and tons of horses had trouble with their leads, yoshi was far from the only one. these horses having only been in training for around 100 days, they havent all balanced out and become equally strong on both sides, as building muscle takes time. he broke to the trot only when camille asked him to btw. yoshi was strengthening and getting more consistent with his leads throughout his training (i was there in person for a lot of it) which suggests to me that the issue was just lack of strength and not a soundness issue. it was a long show, my guess is he was probably a bit tired by the freestyle which was the final class, as he picked up his leads perfectly in the previous classes. he also gotten chiropractor and massage multiple times which generally rules out misalignment/muscle soreness as well as a health certificate by a vet last week clearing him to go to the show. this is not meant to be defensive but to clarify with added information as i know this horse personally and i believe he is perfectly sound, just young and still building strength
@@ellenm6604 nice reply to that !!! 👍 and I think your absolutely 💯 right !!! People can pick these horses apart all they want but I will say this... that performance for where he was a short 90 days ago was just stunning to watch!!!
Nothing about his movement suggests unsoundness. He is a green horse who needs his balance and muscling worked on. Balancing at the canter with a rider is difficult and it takes time to build the muscling and balance necessary to hold the correct leads. As for dropping to the trot, this was the end of a very long weekend.
@@ellenm6604 What was your take on the performance by Champagne on Ice??? There has been no mention of her or her sale since the meltdown before the Freestyle.
@@barbaravpharr i didn’t see it, i was helping tack up yoshi for his freestyle. i tried to watch it back on the livestream but they didn’t turn the cameras on until the end so i couldn’t see for myself. but i asked around and was told she was gentle with the horse which is good, though i’m sure it was a really frustrating experience. the announcer later stated that she withdrew from the freestyle for fear something was wrong with the horse. if that’s true, i applaud the decision, that’s true horsemanship right there as she would be putting the horse’s comfort before competition. someone told me that, because they couldn’t compete in the freestyle, the mare went home with her trainer instead of being sold like the other makeover horses. she said the trainer had been wanting to keep her horse anyway, so she was happy about that at least. i don’t follow the trainer anywhere but i’m sure the horse is okay, it sounds to me like she got ulcers from the show or was just overwhelmed after a long week, i’m sure she’s getting to rest now though.
