Maam when there is atrophy of seromucinous glands then what secretions are there which get dry and form crusts ?

Mucosal atrophy, squamous metaplasia, and chronic inflammatory cell infiltrate characterize this disease.Mucus clearance in AR is delayed due to the loss of cilia and tenacity of mucus.so whatever secretions are formed get thick and dry.
