Although many historical inaccuracies, sure. The acting, drama and story were great. Not to mention the footage of titanic. But many events were dramatized regarding how the ship sank. It was a moonless night, pitch dark, the boat didn't lift at a steep angle when it broke, the lifeboats weren't that far from the ship, the crew didn't use flashlights in the water, the dining tables didn't have lamps, only 2 people were pulled from the water, ect.

It’s nice that even after 100 years we all still hold sorrow in our hearts for those who perished. I think it would be nice to never be forgotten, at least in some way. James Cameron did a beautiful job. The inaccuracies aside, we were able to see the beauty and marvel that the passengers once did. We got to take a journey with them through time.

They did. They filmed in Rosarito, Baja California México and after the film was done they turned it into a small museum/theme park called Foxploration. They had a tour of the rooms, kids would reenact the axe scene in the tour and you could take pictures at the front of the ship where they kiss. They also had an exhibit of the planet of the apes that came out around the same time as Titanic, it was active for a few years before it was sold. Now they’re building something around it but don’t know if it’s part of the park or something new.

I recommend y’all watch “A Night to Remember” which was actually filmed decades before Cameron’s iteration. Not as romanticized as his version but nevertheless for 1950’s technology still a masterpiece. It captures the events of that tragic night in a more realistic way.
That was a classic. They showed the titanic sinking as one piece instead of two pieces. Still a great rendition because that movie was closer to the event and there were more titanic survivors alive to add testimony
I just watched that the other night. OMG, my heart broke when the boy, give up his spot and went down with his dad. I have looked for the 1912 version but I haven’t had any luck finding it. I believe it was a ten minute silent film. The original was destroyed but I believe there are a couple copies left. The actress was actually in the Titanic when it sunk and her fiancé forced her to be in that movie.
When I see its on tonight,I catch myself saying, nah, seen that too many times, not in the mood....just to find myself accidentally zapping over to the channel where its on and keep watching it to the end, even with work next morning.
When I finished the movie it felt as though I was just punched in the stomach. I mean I had a wave of emotions seeing the entire movie (I’ve only seen clips) and I felt drained in a way and was shocked/speechless. It’s no wonder it has 11 awards
