I do like how it used some of the tricks old Nintendo games used to make things harder.
One hit deaths, getting hit by something you had no way of knowing the first time and of course, the game blatantly cheating. It really feels like a good throwback.

I've just realized something.
BF couldn't defeat them, as even a perfect play results in a tie, that part has been well already pointed out.
But consider that fact a tie also means that they couldn't defeat BF.
In the end, the final song of mario madness is not about you beating up the final boss, but facing off those who are titled "the unbeatable" and then prove yourself to also be an unbeatable performer.

I love how the mechanics in this song are each unique.

Duck Hunt: Zapper gun which lowers your health by a certain amount
Bowser: Fire Bar which prevents your health from going past a certain point
Don't forget that the bullets fly around your screen in bowser section which is reduce your ability to see the note

And near the end, they force your bar so low that when it ends, it ends in the middle or lower than that. Meaning it either ends in a loss or a draw, but never a win.

Boyfriend is one of the most unkillable protagonists. Even when he meets his match, he (usually) finds a way to overcome them. In some cases, he is even interpreted as the villain or a straight up menace.
Here we have these condescending jerks that you are eager to see a character like Boyfriend beat. It's unheard of to see Mr. Sys and the Nintendo crew look worried like they might actually get beaten when you perform well during the song.

This song just nails how well Mario's Madness balances songs in terms of difficulty. For the final song, this genuinely felt so fun because I don't think I've ever felt so determined to beat a song before. It replicates that intimidating quote in the original commercial, "YOU CANNOT BEAT US", which just determines players to try as hard as they can to beat the seemingly unbeatable song.

What I loved about this song is that, despite my skill issue not letting me get past the no-miss section, I actually realised I could use the "call luigi" mechanic (botplay) skillfully (or at least it felt skillful and that's what matters), by turning it on only when health was low or draining, then playing without it when the song got less treacherous. So even a mediocre player like me could enjoy the song in its entirety.

What I love about this song is how opponents are seem to be genuinely arrogant and threatening, chanting that they are unbeatable, but BF presses on, forcing them to crank up the difficulty and pace.
Especially in the end when BF drops a sick solo on them to flex they just have to combine forces.
BF gets out which is great BF has extreme willpower.
If you think about it, an argument can be made that BF didn't beat them, instead drawing as the health bar is in the middle at the end of the song

God my favorite part is at 10:15, but not JUST for the banger it is. Look at the health bar. With every line, the bar grows more and more in favor of your opponent, as if the arrogance in them continues to DRIVE into your mind. And then with just TWO notes, it’s a tie game.

The mix of real words in the song that also go to the beat, more like adlibs than actual lyrics, help make this song bang so goddamn hard as it’s easily recognizable, making it super easy to listen to. It also helps the song have variation, as it being only chromatic sounds would make the song boring due to its extreme length. Even so, they change up the chromatics multiple times during the song to continue to mix it up, letting the song never be boring. Truly a masterclass song when you think about it, it’s always good, never a part that’s notably weaker than the others as multiple people worked on it too. This is top tier

I've been OBSESSED with this song the past week. Just a couple of my own observations:
The climax (10:15) is especially awesome because it's basically a remake of the original commercial, almost line-for-line. It's one thing to use lines from another source and sample them into a song, but it takes an insane amount of creativity to realize the musical properties of the whole commercial.
There's also that little bit before that when the Nintendo crew is going all out (10:03). For the past 10 minutes, they have taunted BF with "cannot beat us", but so far all 3 of them have failed to beat BF themselves! So now it is BF's turn to fire back with "cannot beat us".
Anyway, that's probably enough, but yeah; this was my favorite song of the mod by a good margin.

This song wass a fantastic way to end the update after almost 2 years of waiting and for those who need reference this is base don an old nes commercial made early in the system's release and features the man in the suit,the dog from duck hunt,bowser and some other characters from said games and has been known as one of the creepiest commercials for video games and this song is an epic nostalgia trip for this plus it is a 4 song gauntlet so awesome either way Mario's madness v2 was well worth the wait amd hoping mario fnf port and Mario's monday night massacre get v2 updates so yeah
And for mariomaster to port both to phones, so anyone can be happy.

I love how Duck Hunt Dog's voice looks like he whispers when he says "you cannot beat us" or sometimes when he sings
Something I truly adore about this song is that, none of them have proper “talking” sprites. Whenever they say actual words it’s just their normal singing sprites, and it makes them feel so lifeless. It really adds to it.

For those who are confused: The weird duck raptor thing is a Smick from Gyromite, an old NES game where the player would use R.O.B. the Robot as a pseudo player two. As for the duolingo owls in clouds, those are meant to be lakitu's but someone messed up when the ad was made. The fact that this is a final level after going through the entire story is quite something... A really cool reward for that.
Not to mention is that by far the best music of that mod.
Also, the part at 9:52 sounds so much like a final attack of BF. Like a victory attack or smth... Not sure how to describe it.
For my bf, he was winning because of the Nintendo ones, they try to lower his health, they are in world 4 where the characters are evil, so they try to use other methods to win. In the end, they manage to take away almost all of his life, but bf regains life, leaving it in a tie.
Mario Madness v2 sets the bar for mods pushing into 2024. But not as to outdo them but to show that with hard work and dedication to it you can shine. This mod was un the works for 2 full years. And no one was being payed tk make this, this was a passion project and as long as your willing to solider on you can make a mod that wil be remembered.

I know this isn't cannon, but I'm certain these beings are going to be deeply affected by the encounter with Boyfriend.
