Khalsa College Patiala Organizes a Special Event on the Occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas
A special event was collaboratively organized by the Department of Religious Studies of Khalsa College Patiala, Gurmat Society and Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle. All the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college participated in this event. On this occasion, after the completion of Sahaj Paath in the Gurdwara Sahib located at the college campus the head of the Music department, Dr. Jagjit Singh performed kirtan. Dr. Davinder Singh, Assistant Professor, Punjabi Department, while sharing his thoughts in the context of Khalsa Sajna Day, said that the incident of Khalsa Sajna on the day of Baisakhi in 1699 was not a sudden supernatural phenomenon but the result of a long process. It began with the verses of Baba Farid and the process attained its perfection under the guidance of other devotees and Gurus.
Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal, Khalsa College Patiala said that the names of ‘Panj Payaras’ also have special meanings which express the phenomena related to religion. On this occasion, he shed light on the importance of Shabad Guru and said that the Sikh world can make its ways easier in the present times only by following Shabad Guru. Apart from others, a large number of students from various departments were also present.
