It’s sad tho cuz I remember a ton of people hated on Mac back in the day. His “frat rap” sound rubbed some true hip hop heads the wrong and they never let it go. Once he passed though that negative noise fizzled out.
I think it gave those who hated on him a chance to really see his growth as an artist and clips of him being a genuinely kind human being. But Mac was definitely a controversial figure with some old heads back in the day. They just won’t tell you now.

For real between Post Malone and Mac Miller I can’t think of any two celebrities in music that are more highly regarded as people. One thing I’ve noticed about Post is he speaks so incredibly highly of everyone else, he has so many collabs with various entertainers specifically because he was a huge fan of them

Mac Miller ... was the first person to ever have me completely break down and cry ... and I've never had the privilege of seeing or meeting him ... the first person to have such a profound impact on my life and we've never once crossed paths ... yet when I heard about your passing I lost my shit ... I broke down and cried like a bitch ... legit felt like I lost a friend and mentor 😪 💔 😞 nothing but love and respect to Mac Miller. May he rest easy on the otherside. Gone but NEVER forgotten.
I’ll never forget, I was in rehab when he died and the black lady who was essentially our baby sitter, mind you I’m not sure if we ever exchanged a word before then because we weren’t around each other often. She turned to me and was like “did you hear the news” which number one is such a surreal thing to hear from someone you hadn’t yet talked to. I was thinking it was serious serious, like second 9/11. And she of course said Mac Miller died and that caught me so off guard number one refused to believe it but also I didn’t understand how she knew I was the correct person to tell that too (besides obvious I’m white jokes). I think that he had a lot of respect in the addict community in general. But later on it definitely led to some tears watching that final music video from the coffin a few months later. I don’t think there’s any celebrity death that could’ve effected me more and what confuses me is I can’t really explain why

I had the privilege to meet him on Melrose ave .. Most humble guy ever only because my lil brother was begging for me to take him to Melrose cause he was going to be there.. That was a cool experience the event was over he saw my lil brother bummed out and said nah come here and took the time take photos autographs pictures everything never forget it!!

Rip Macholm McCormick. Funny enough many people don't think he was a great artist. But he almost never made songs about death and sorrow. But he was playing with so many 🌟 ,and many thought he was a true and genuine human being. He was playing keys, drums, guitar, bass. He was a real prodigie. Love him so much ❤️
