Grandson of Sin Sisamouth Says He’ll Follow Family’s Musical Tradition
The grandson of legendary singer Sin Sisamouth says he hopes to continue his family’s musical legacy. In an interview with VOA Khmer, Sin Sethakol said he is pursuing music, while working as a sound system specialist. He suffered polio at the age of 2, but he said he has been encouraged lately by greater social acceptance, and will follow the advice of his famed grandfather and late father. He urged the public to support artists by respecting their intellectual property, in a country that is notorious for illegal copies of books, films and music CDs. (Soeung Sophat, Washington)
