This is what happens when you start giving out millions of dollars to fighters that don't bring it back in. People say Misfits underpaid their fighters, but they don't, they pay them what they are worth. This is why I kept saying Gib is out of his mind trying to hold out for these 7 figure checks thinking he deserves it because he does not draw like that. His biggest fight to date was with Jake and it was because of both of them plus the fact it was coming off the back end of KSI vs Logan Paul 2 and the winner determined if Jake would fight KSI next or if Gib would derail that hype. The Social Gloves 1 card sold decent because of the intrigue of having CZcamsrs vs Tik - Tokers because it drew a line in the sand between both and gave people a side to choose. And they had Deji's supposed to be redemption fight. Social Gloves 2 flopped completely. Even without promotion if Gib was half the draw, he thinks he is they would have had more than a couple hundred people there in California of all places. Whinderson is a huge draw with his people but outside of that not many people know who he is let alone care to see him fight. Apart from those 2 this event never would have sold more than a few hundred tickets at best and probably less pay per views. Not hating either I liked the idea of this tournament and having Wade and Sensei working together on the broadcast team, but as soon as Gib put out the video saying he was signing a multi-million dollar contract for this tournament I had a feeling it was only a matter of time before they realized they were in over their heads with their promised checks. Hopefully the fighters don't get too discouraged and the fights that were supposed to be the semi-finals can at least still happen somehow somewhere at a later date. The Gib vs Jarvis one specifically if Misfits wants to pick it up for one of their undercards.
