If the founder and CEO declares his business bankrupt there will be a fat chance of me tracking my money down. CEO’s exist only in corporations and I don’t think this is a corporation? Seems very straight up an genuine, sure there’s a lot more to cover. In principle this could work well, effectively paying the farmers in order to grow the business based on how much cattle is produced an then you receive your profits. • @AliS-xr5rq
    @AliS-xr5rq Před 3 lety +2

    I really like lifestock wealth plan but I have the same fear about regulation and protection but I know their model works. I am originally from Pakistan and I did a small experiment my self. Got a cow with calf for 80,000pkr in May 2019 (not as an investment but to help a friend so he can source milk from it). This month we sold the calf for 62,000pkr and 2 days ago sold the cow for 150,000 pkr (80,000 to 212,000 + 2 years of milk for his family, some of which he sold as well). Of the 212,000pkr , my share is 142,000 and he got 70pkr for his hard work, which he has used to purchase a cow of his own. that's a damn good return on investment (39% annually) plus the satisfaction that I helped a poor family and enabled a mean of income for them.

    • @PaulBriscoe
      @PaulBriscoe  Před 3 lety +1

    • @AliS-xr5rq
      @AliS-xr5rq Před 3 lety

      @@PaulBriscoe Yep that is very true. It is a common mean of income in agricultural countries, however the key issue is trust. How do you vet so many farmers in this model? I have found it very difficult to scale, if I am being honest. in 2 years I have only been able to find 6 families and currently I am actively looking to partner up with someone back home and scale this model just like livestock wealth but more like a "close end fund for friends and family " ;). Good luck with your new venture.

    • @PaulBriscoe
      @PaulBriscoe  Před 3 lety

      That's really interesting! Very interesting to know it works as a model.
      I think they're scaling due to the tech and the fact that they are being approached.
      The vetting process is probably difficult but do bale right?

    • @AliS-xr5rq
      @AliS-xr5rq Před 3 lety

      @@PaulBriscoe south Africa is a really unknown territory for me so I do not know how the social fabric is in that region. I guess if you can take some sort of guarantee then vetting can work. But it beats my purpose as I want to help poor families in the process and generally they do not have guarantors or collaterals. Their model is purely business driven so it may be comparatively easy for them since they can perhaps form local partnerships with small businesses instead of looking for poor individuals..

      Some of this is covered in the interview but I think lsw choose the farmers.
      Benefits to the farmer seem to be a cash injection up front for the rearing of the cattle. This allows them to grow quicker, the profit is then split at the end.
