    10 seconds in, I gasped "goals!" when I saw that bushy, fuzzy friend.
    I can get them to make babies... but I can't get the babies, nor the parents, to thrive. :<

      Hi Elf! What state do you live in? I live in NC and I plant them in morning sun, afternoon shade. They don't flower, but I don't particularly care for the flowers, I would rather have lush foliage!! Keep me posted on your fuzzy friends.

      @@jennifersarette9979 I'm in western Washington; we are very soggy 9 months of the year. I've got some surprise babies from a fallen leaf, which I'm growing inside, and I'm hoping to plant them outside once the sun comes back in the spring.

    Thanks so much! This is my first year having lamb's ear on my porch & in large grow bag. I wanted to know if it was frost tolerant. You answered my question. I'm in zone 7. Great job, great video.

    Wow, your lamb's ear is beautiful and thriving! I have one in a pot but it is really struggling. Any advice for the ones you've started/grown in pots?

    I've only tried to grow lambs ear once a long time ago because I wanted it for a flower bed border. It died because I didn't know what I was doing 😂 I'd love to try it again now that I think I know better 😀

      Hey Jen! That border is lovely. Dont know that ive ever seen lambs ear, so tbank you for the introduction. Looks like a sweet but strong little plant. Questions....Did I understand you to say that it turns brown in winter and dies back?? So, it can be separated during the growing season and i dont have to wait until its dormant? How fast does it spread? Im looking for something to beautify a 4x8 dry, sorta rocky space. Your thoughts please and thanks for your time!!

    That is pretty. I have two in one-gallon containers (they've been sitting around for a few months so they are so root bound!) I am just putting in today and wanted to cut the plants in half. Thank you for showing how to do it.

      @@reallyrooted No problem. They have gone crazy. Lambs ear (Helen Von Stien) is my go-to ground cover right now.

    Thank you for giving information I was searching for. I notice the soil looks rich with compost, etc.

      Thank you for watching. We have heavy clay soil, but I add Black Cow compost to it. It has helped the soil improve!

      Tried to propagate in water with no success.

    I grabbed some from my mother-in-law house on Saturday planted it yesterday. . IT snowed this morning! What's the likelihood it will survive?

    • @reallyrooted
      @reallyrooted  Před 2 lety

      It’s difficult to say. They are hardy down to zone 4, however since they were just planted they may be more vulnerable to the cold temperatures. Please keep me posted on how they do. 🤞

      Thank you for watching. I am sorry; I am just now seeing your comment. Yes, they are a perennial in zones 4-9. I live in zone 7b, and they barely die back in the winter. Happy gardening!
