The icy winds howled across the desolate landscape of Polus as the crewmates scurried about their tasks, completely unaware of the intrigue unfolding among them. Steve, clad in his spacesuit, navigated the frigid corridors with the utmost care. He was the Phantom, burdened with the silent duty of completing his tasks without revealing his special role.
Hafu and Courtilly were engrossed in a heated discussion about the recent sightings of Aipha, the cunning Impostor. The crewmates were on edge, their trust in each other wearing thin. Steve, meanwhile, slid into the laboratory, carefully avoiding the gaze of his unsuspecting comrades.
DumbDog, the Jester, roamed the frozen expanse with an air of mischief, desperately trying to appear suspicious. He hoped the crewmates would be deceived, casting their votes in his favor. However, his antics were met with skeptical glares, and the crewmates remained vigilant.
As Steve moved stealthily through the labyrinthine halls, Aipha prowled in the shadows, contemplating her next move. The reactors began to hum ominously, signaling a crisis that threatened to plunge Polus into chaos. Aipha, seizing the opportunity, sabotaged the reactor, diverting the crewmates' attention.
Amid the chaos, DumbDog tried to capitalize on the confusion, pleading with the crewmates to vote him out. However, they saw through his ruse, unwilling to be fooled by the Jester's antics. Disheartened, DumbDog slinked away, his plan foiled.
In the midst of the reactor crisis, Steve found himself in the Office, the last bastion of his tasks. The pressure mounted as the crewmates rushed to repair the reactor, unwittingly playing into Aipha's hands. Steve, with nerves of steel, completed his final task, the silent victory condition of the Phantom.
As the crewmates rushed to the reactors, their collective focus on the imminent disaster, Steve emerged from the Office, a silent victor in the midst of chaos. The reactors hummed with impending doom, but Steve's completion of his tasks snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
Aipha, realizing too late that Steve had been the elusive Phantom all along, watched in disbelief as the crewmates averted disaster. The alarms silenced, and the crewmates breathed a collective sigh of relief. Unbeknownst to them, Steve, the Phantom, had quietly secured a triumph in the icy depths of Polus. The impostor's plans had crumbled, and the crewmates, oblivious to the Phantom's covert success, continued their duties, their trust in each other temporarily restored on the frozen planet.

26:00 Just realised all Aipha needed to do to win was kill Hafu. Immediately self report, and Guess "Jester" on DumbDog. In fact, he could have been brazen and killed Hafu literally in front of Courtilly - had he done that the body would have been immediately reported too!
Obviously we have the beauty of hindsight knowing there is a phantom almost done their tasks, but interesting how you could theory craft the optimal way of playing that final round for imp.
Imagine if both Hafu and Steve lost their role wins while doing card flip to finish.

I watched this live from DumbDog’s POV but couldn’t help but watch it again. Epic!
That was such a fun round. The suspense was great.
Given we knew the game’s outcome, I was confused how Steve was supposed to finish his tasks before Hafu, but I guess I know how that worked out now.
Snitch not only has to complete all tasks, but survive long enough to do all tasks and get to a meeting. but also convince people they are really a snitch. And then they still have to find and eject neutral killers.
Phantom just has t o complete their tasks.
@@nefariou5 I’m aware, but Hafu already had one round of tasks completed & is generally fast at doing her tasks.
Snitch tends to strategise the last couple tasks so they can survive. And given there was only one killer after the first round, her chances of survival were much better than normal, not that she knew that.
Among Us Academy is just better in editing the perspectives in such a way that it makes for an engaging story compared to other Steve replay posters.
I don't know, I reckon Koji's editor might be even better!

Hafu fucked up. In retrospect the play was do the office task first then vials, then run away/hide in specimen while crew fixes lights and buttons. There would have been enough time before the kill cooldown; and also the imposter would not have been able to mess with the lights if he was chasing Hafu.
Also Dumbdog fucked up by voting himself. Courtilly had all the power; she was the only one who got to decide who gets voted out; so his wincon was literally just Courtilly voting him; whether or not he votes for himself has no impact on him winning; it only gives others information that he's jester.
When Janet is Snitch, she usually waits for a sabotage to happen and get fixed before she does the last task in Office. That way the impostor’s sabo cool down starts and she can button without a problem.

b) If you didn't vote yourself, you still win as Jester
SCENARIO 2: Mayor Votes to Skip their 3 votes
a) If you voted yourself, you DO NOT win as JESTER and can never win as Jester this game
b) If you didn't vote yourself, the game continues, and you have a non-zero chance of winning as Jester
Thus you're right, choosing option a) works out better/the same regardless of what the Mayor does! Great point!

Junk's kill button flashed when Kara died. I thought that bug is no longer in the game. Also, if Dumbdog hadn't pushed Aipha too at the end I think Court may have voted for him. Information overload leads to freezing
the endgame had more twists than an M. Night Shyamalan movie
after that meeting on 6, the suspense sure was captivating!
Dumbdog might be a biggest brain ever in this game, but steve will always be king.

When I first got into among us, I would watch Toast and 5up's videos, and thought they always won as impostor.
Only to one day check out their vods and find they lose most of their imp games (as did everyone).
Selection and publication bias is real haha, though I'd like to think there's a good portion of steve L's on this channel too - to keep you guessing what the outcome will be 😉

I don't get why Hafu is so confused on 4 instead of just thinking it's both Aipha and Dumbdog. There's 2 dead and only one person exploded so there could still be an imposter and neutral killer. That's the most obvious assumption to make.
Well Court (who is confirmed Mayor) said that Aipha was fucking with the lights the entire time, meaning he probably could not have gotten a normal kill
I just realized that that Aipha could have instantly have reported hafu's body and the guess Dumbdog to win, though that time would be really short.

If any role doesn't work the way it did in 2022, I'm fairly certain he has no idea.
I think it's important to remember that MOST of them do not keep up with or retain anything about this game outside of the ONE day they play it, and for Steve, it's even less than that because he usually does not care.

I honestly hate phantom. It is a very fun role to play but I find phantom wins incredibly annoying. They do not really interact with anyone and they end up playing their own game. I just think phantom wins interrupt everyone else's game and the fun dynamics that they have established, and I find it lame.
Junk really needs to stop drinking while playing. Slurring his words, can’t remember anything, always saying the wrong thing when trying to explain what he saw. Yikes. Don’t drink kids.
