I have a Brand X bag for trash. I strap it over the rear spoiler of the 4Runner and use 100lb rated (4 ea) small magnets with loops to hold the bottom part of the bag on the rear hatch making sure it doesn't interfere with the tail light or license plate.
For a bath towel, I sewed two Costco micro fiber yellow towel together. It folds down really small and dries out fast.
I made a plywood platform for my bed to store things underneath. I found out that I really don't need that space as I can store those containers in the attached tent while I sleep inside the car.
I only have one trip under my belt with this vehicle so am constantly on the look out for ideas.
