This video is all about the Lovely green belt of Kuwait city, The Al Shaheed park.
Al Shaheed Park is the largest urban park in Kuwait. It is considered the most significant green infrastructure project in Kuwait and has one of the largest overstructure greenroofs in the world. Al Shaheed Park is the largest green roof project ever undertaken in the Arab world.
Al Shaheed park, located on the periphery of Kuwait city, narrates the story of a land, its history and culture. The park consists of 200,000 m2 of greenery, featuring beautiful botanical gardens, two museums - Thekra & the Habitat, a visitor center, a lake, walkways and jogging tracks, walkways, benches and other seating areas, amphitheatre, sculptures, exhibition center, restaurant and a variety of flowers, plants and trees making us feel relaxed!
The park consists of 3 phases.
Phase 1 is established in 2015.
Phase 2 is inaugrated in the year 2017
Phase 3 under construction.
The most spectacular thing about the park is the dancing fountain. I just loved looking at the fountains. There is something so peaceful and relaxing about the sound and movement of water flowing from fountains. The feeling is even more beautiful when you are at a waterfall. Since we don't have waterfalls here, we can very well visit the newly introduced waterfalls & fountain here to enlighten our souls.
Timings for the musical fountain is scheduled with time gaps between each performance.
The lights in the musical fountain come on after sunset. Visit the park before sunset, walk around, explore and enjoy the beautiful botanical gardens in the sunlight. Stay back after sunset to enjoy the musical fountain show and the special lighting all around the park.
The musical fountains are located at the Green Belt Lake in Shaheed park. Look for directions and map at various locations in the park. There is another set of fountains you can enjoy at the Constitution Monument area as well.
Car parking is in the basement.
Free entry except for kids games if any.
