  • 8 oscillator patch, showcasing the loopable envelopes at different ratios and slowly moving the "I" (transwave position) and "Z" (filter cutoff) macros using Ableton Live.
I was trying to program a lead sound and ended up with this 20 minutes later.
It's quite easy to get carried away with this machine.

It was really capable of many sounds, and evolutive one like the Wavestation. Clearly underestimated

Totally immersive. My Fiz is in storage at present, but I loved to weight a key and noodle with the parameters to create these continually evolving soundscapes. Yours is a perfect demonstration of what she is capable of generating. Epic.

This is a great example of the types of sounds that can be conjured up with the Fizmo. And your description is true to the Fizmo experience, you can turn it on with the best intentions for a specific sound design, and end up in a world you never imagined. Thanks for the posting the video.

Just picked one up for the new Secret Records synth studio. I basically went through the entire chronological history of synths and picked out some of the most interesting ones and this one definitely stands out. You don't hear too many people mention Ensoniq I really think they're some of the best. The analog filters and incredible sequencer of the SQ80, amazing sounds and sequencer of the SD1, and finally the Fizmo that finally added KNOBS!!!! Very nice sounds here.

Fantastic soundscape! Thank you for recording and sharing. Hope to here more of these one day! Or find a Fizmo of my own! Cheers!

I loved the FIZMO, had 3 of them over 25 years. Everytime I sold one I ended up missing it too much. This soundscape reminds me of some on my patches I used on the Rainbow Rider album from 2004-5. I recently curated some of those cuts on YT. I liked the spacious swirling transwave sound a lot. I am hoping my Hydrasynth will get there too. Nice work here. Sub.

I think all the Fizmo fans need to get in contact with Arturia and get them to make a proper VST emulation of the Fizmo, not just some sample playback machine. Fizmo prices are extreme right now for such an old synth. I had the chance to buy one new back in the day for under $1000.00USD... I was young and it did not seem appealing or very cool at the time... NOW I would love one. If anyone knows of any VST that comes close to the Fizmo please reply below, Thanks.

This may be the best demo of a Fizmo I've seen (heard).

Fizmo fits perfectly in the situation where a new, groundbreaking synth is not appreciated when it is first released, but its qualities and uniqueness gets discovered many years later. With this in mind, I wonder which one of today's synthesizers we will appreciate in 20 years or so, banging our heads to the "how did I not notice it?" theme.. is there even a synth like that today?

Amazing. All this from a single patch live with no overdubs? Fizmo is pretty rare these days but a truly forward thinking machine.

Yeah, sound design with the Fizmo can be sometimes very unpredictable ;-)

I think that is what makes this synth so unique, in that you can't quite control it ~ making for something expressive and unexpected

Having a Fizmo myself, I would just like to ask: did you play a chord on this, or just one simple note or... ? I'm curious, cause I know just one single note can be enough most of the times, most definitely if you have an 8 oscillator patch going on

gorgeous . . . let's not tell Hans Zimmer about this one, shall we? Anyway, I would just leave this thing running 24/7 with these kinds of evolving sounds

sounds wonderful. wuould you be willing to share the patch setup, would love to try some patches like this. how do you modulate the parameters with ableton live? via midi?

    • @claudiooliveira5819
      @claudiooliveira5819 Před 4 lety +6

Thank you! Unfortunately I lost the patch but if I recall correctly this one has 8 different transwaves running at the same time. Each one has very very slow looping amp envelopes at different ratios so they take a long time to "show up" and disappear" from mix. That's basically it for that evolving effect. Each transwave also has different modulations going on so they don't sound static.
The automation part was just a simple midi LFO from Ableton, controlling the I and Z knobs (which act like macros for all 8 parts).

@@claudiooliveira5819 Thank you . I had a lot of success today with the Fizmo. Even saved a few patches of my own and laid down some recordings. Love this synth
