Castlevania NES Boss Rush; No Damage, Whip Only

- There is a number that appears after every boss that shows how many attempts each boss took to defeat. Also, this is my first 30FPS video since 2012. I am hoping to upload some videos in 2020 with a much better frame rate.
Phantom Bat: Awful boss, completely random flight patterns.
Medusa: Somewhat random, but very manageable.
Mummies: Absolute joke.
Frankenstein: Easy as long as you have the timing down.
Death: Very fun but random boss. Scythe patterns are different every time, and he can still hit you after you kill him.
Drac I: Fuck this boss. Only gives you about half a second to react to his attacks.
Drac II: Duck next to him and he will always do a high jump. Only hard because I'm always a jittery mess after the hell of the first form. - Hry
I always wondered why Simon is okay when looking at Medusa. Usually, looking at Medusa turns you into stone.
No stone effect until Castlevania 3! But it only happens when she shoots her eye vision.
Simon doesn't appear to have any eyes so maybe that's why.
@@j-dubb614 He has eyes.
Finally, a good Playthrough!!!
Nice job, soldier!
Igor is like the sidekick to Frankenstein’s monster.
Yup! Unfortunately you cannot kill Igor, and hitting him does not cause damage to the proper boss. Plus, he does not act like a traditional Fleaman/Hunchback. Still an easy fight if you can keep Igor stun locked the whole fight, which is very doable and I have done so on multiple occasions off camera.
I love when a CZcamsr adds a description to their videos! Context for the small things is even more important nowadays !😅
This second Dracula is a pain in the ass.
He’s like Bahomet in Castlevania III.
ngl the bosses are quite predictable if you their actions
"No Damage, Whip Only" -...Final Destination?
Wow! Hooray for Simon!
Man you made it look so easy to pass the game I spend hours and hours trying to pass this game 🎮 good times.
This reminds me of the hardest boss rush I ever tried and that's in the game A Hole New World. I had a great time with it although the difficulty on the normal playthrough was tough as nails, NG+ is almost impossible lol
Well done, especially for an emulator
Is it possible to learn this power?
What do the numbers at the end of the Boss battles mean?
The number of attempts that it took to defeat them.
@@TheFredster32 Ah! I saw already!
have no idea how to do Death. I keep getting cornered
Good skill set lol👍🏾
how many times did it take for you to do Dracula II?
7. It says that right after I grab the orb.
+TheFredster32 oh now i see it. idk how the hell i missed that lol. well, great job man, i'm sure it was no easy feat. I started playing through a few days ago but got stuck on Death. I ended up getting too frustrated and quit. Such a good game though. Definitely one of the best Castlevanias.
@@TheFredster32 I never got to know what the orbs actually do. Does they do something to Simon?
I wonder if that last hit could of been a hit for you... If he had more life bars.. You ran out of room. Maybe he would of did the high jump...
Oh without a doubt I would've been dead had he needed one more hit.
@@TheFredster32 have you ever beat the whole game and played it again? The stages are numbered from the last level. It doesnt start over... And bats and medusa heads are used through out the stages... Its hard!
@@Jy-xq2ew No, haven’t the patience for hard mode.
Volume is too high
Thats not a whip its a morning star, whip is no upgrade lol
Eu não to tirando
Meanwhile i stil cant beat Death after 35 years.
Hey! Practice makes perfect!
I’ve never beaten Death with the whip, but with Holy water it’s easy.
@@mncdssctn9110I beat it with cross weapon.
Let me guess. This is the lame american version where everything is in a higher speed? Try to beat a PAL NES game. Everything is a little slower. Well, not everything it seems. The bad guys are moving relatively the same. But the whip! It seems like it's going twice the speed than in my version. Excuse me if my spelling isn't spot on and if your butt is hurting..

It is probably because most of the NES games played in US and Japan run at 60FPS. PAL NES games run at 50FPS, so I see exactly where you're coming from.
Everything's slower in the PAL versions.
Alexander Ström Lame? Stfu because you OBVIOUSLY don't understand the concept of PAL vs NTSC formats!
How can it be lame if it moves at the correct speed, while PAL speed was slower (that would allow you more time to think of an attack pattern, Japan and US versions have more challenge as they are faster/the correct speed. I've tried playing games in emulators at PAL speeds, there's no way in hell I'd get enjoyment out of that.
