Super C - Metal Version (FULL SOUNDTRACK)

I have two important deal in my life: painting and music. A painting is my profession now, but second one is just a hobby. I started learing to play guitar about 20 years ago, and than i trying to composing and making an arrange. And i'm sure that videogames gave me a lot in forming my own tastes in music. In a middle of 90's me and my older brother had a Dendy console (it was a clone of Famicom or NES for Russia) and ofcourse we had favorite games. One of them was Super C (Super Contra). It's a sequel of legendary first part called "Contra" and which also had awesome soundtrack. The music both of them is filled with energy, drive and dramatic. We even have recorded it on audiotape for listening in further. But for many years I wanted to make a remake of the sequel. And now, after almost 25 years later my first launch of a game a made it! I spent about 150 hours on arrangement, recording a guitar and mastering. That's my little story :)
I hope that among of you, there will be those who like me were passionate about this game as a child.

В моей жизни есть два самых значимых увлечения: это живопись и музыка. Но если первое я сделал своей профессией, то второе осталось в качестве хобби. Играть на гитаре я начал около 20 лет назад, чуть позже начал ещё и сочинять, а потом попробовал себя в аранжировках. Я уверен, что не последнюю роль в формировании музыкальных вкусов сыграли видео игры. У меня, как и у многих в 90-е была приставка Денди, и разумеется, были на ней и любимые игры. Одной из таких была "Super C", или "Супер Контра", как мы её называли. Это продолжение легендарной первой "Контры", которая вышла в 1987-м, и которая так же имела бомбический саундтрек. Но именно вторая часть, оказала на меня большее влияние. В детстве она казалась лучше во всём. А музыка (несмотря на своё 8-ми битное звучание) наполненная энергетикой и драйвом, во время прохождения дарила незабываемые эмоции. Мы с братом даже записывали её на кассеты аудиомагнитофона, чтобы переслушивать потом отдельно. Довольно долго я хотел сделать кавер версию на саундтрек игры, и вот, почти 25 лет спустя моего первого знакомства с игрой, у меня дошли, что называется, руки воплотить эту маленькую мечту в реальность. Больше 150 часов я потратил на аранжировки, запись гитары и сведение всего этого дела. Вот такая история. :) Надеюсь, что среди вас, найдутся те, кто так же как и я, были увлечены этой игрой в детстве.

This is AMAZING, you captured it to sound like it is the games music, but it also has a cinematic tone to it. It sounds like I'm listening to a movie of Super C, and I'm loving it all the way.

Close two decades later I can hear those damage “shuin shuin” sounds in my head every time the bullets hit enemy damages.
What a crazy good soundtrack cover, it does still feel game-y yet modern. How is it done? Are some tracks overlaid on top the original one to keep those complex synth sounds?

I recall myself searching for metal covers of Super C a few years ago. And for some reason I had found only covers for the first level and few other tracks. I don't really know why but it seems Super C is not really popular in the West unlike Contra.
So I was pleasantly surprised to find metal cover for the whole soundtrack of this game. Especially from someone who knows what Dendy is = )
Even though Konami has that distinct style for every music piece on NES, soundtracks from Super C are the ones that sure have to be made into metal. One of my favourite nes music with that unique drive. And this metal rendition does every single bit of justice to it.

I have been in the same situation too! When I searched for remixes of Super C for the past few months, I just got Lightning and Grenades, a medley, or Mel's guitar playthrough of it. But then I saw th art's remix after searching without logging on, I was shocked and disappointed with CZcams not showing me this masterpiece.

14:30 cuando yo era niño y veía a esa mujer abrir los ojos era terrorífico ver como ese alien se estaba comiendo a una persona viva. Luego me di cuenta de que si fuera una persona real sería del mismo tamaño físico del jugador (Bill Razer). Entonces nunca supe si se trataba de una mujer gigante viva o si se trataba de tan solo una estatua, pero el momento en el que ella habría los ojos daba miedo.

When I listened to these remixes for the second time, I closely watched the dude play, it turned out that he sucked hard and cut out some of the moments where he died. What a shame to such epic music lol

Why does the music sound so slow??
Read about SECAM tv standarts.
I purposely made the music slower because it's more familiar to my ears. In my country we had the old SECAM standard in the 90's when we played. All of nes games was little slower on SECAM tv than tv on PAL standart.
