Jordan is obviously feeling that Bundy pressure and has had to unleashed his ultimate weapon - 'The Cory and Oscar show'. He's even invested in a camera man. Definitely feeling the heat.
Try using rivnuts where fixing the the metal brackets to the van structure, I had a VW Transporter 4WD all kitted out with Sortimo racking some years back and I believe the van is still being used with the racking and rivnuts still holding...15 years on !
You need an insertion tool but they are not expensive nowadays.
im using rivnuts in my van to the only why to go
I just commented on rivnuts then saw your comment. Rivnut for the win
Love your complete set up mate, must be so much easier having a unit you can store everything/keep it all safe etc. Great stuff mateđđœđđœ
Whoops đŹ đ€Łđ€Ł trying to give me a plug and ruins my mug đ€Ł
he'll need a new one now!
That's what she said.... đđ€Ł
Deliberate? Or clumsy nick ?
You should get him a plastic mug, no excuse to destroy, I mean accidently throwing the mug on the floor.
@@stuarth540 đ€Łđ€Ł heâs a proper butter fingers đ€Ł
Brilliant video as usual Nick, love the different type of videos lately, keep up the good work đ
Somehow I expected a dropped mug the moment you picked it up đ€Ł
Just wanna give a thankyou for recommending the van vault sliders. Van got broken into whilst on-site on Friday. Fuckers tried but couldnât get in. Saved me 2 grand there my man đđœ
We are so sorry that this happened to you on-site on Friday but over the moon to hear that your Van Vault Sliders kept your tools secure! Do you mind if we share your story on our social pages? :)
@@vanvault5597 absolutely feel free to shaređđœ
You inspired me. The inside of my van (almost done!) Is blacked out. Looks 1000x better than just plain wood
I still think making your own shelving beats any metal made versions. My van came with metal racking was great to get out on the road with it, but the new wooden layout is 100% better đ đ
Hey Nick,
Always watch all your videos, keep up the good honest work.
Not sure if someone else has mentioned loads of comments, sleeving reels have a couple of circles you can pop out so you cut off what you want and thread it through the side and it stops them unravelling.
Stay safe, keep well
To fasten the racking to the van you can use rivnuts or just normal rivets and a strong glue. Instead of angles for the shelves, try using blocks of wood onder the shelve like you used for the stackers. Some flexible glue can go a long way
Awesome mate! I'm getting my brand new van soon and I'm going to use the Milwaukee Packout system for everything đ
Packout is great, my vans filled with it, the only thing is the Uk hasnât got the Milwaukee shelving or drawers yet, so I find myself forever unstacking and restacking the cases etc. Tough, looks great, functional, but it lacks the ability to be used well in vans atm.
@@garethwatson7999 I know I'm waiting for the shevles and racking system. Hopefully, be here by end of month đ
You won't regret that mate
No way
A complete false floor is brilliant, mines 2 storey 2.4m Zarges three way ladders ands 6 tread steps on the bottom, then another false floor with a 100mm high slot for containment, this then allows you to use the through loading under the seat and the ladders are safe in the van and no roof rack required đ€. Iâve got the LWB custom
Excellent work and thanks for the awesome content stay safe and take care
I was one that subscribed after watching the none payment video! It's one of the things that all trades can relate to.... the amazing levels of arseh*leness that clients can get to đ
I had a similar issue with wooden racking the only way around it was cutting some 2x2 lengths so that they wedged in place and lined up all the way to the floor, the screws just always come out
Try putting some upright wooden posts at the back of the shelves to take some weight and take the strain off the angle brackets .
Thanks for sharing. Your van storage awesome. I like to do same like your van.
Using tradify and xero is a game changerđ
Them knipex flush cut snips are great for cable ties. Stops the next guy slashing his arm
Iv been driving with the same wooden rack for 7 years now. The key seems to be that the deviders are slotted a few ml into the crossing plate, wood glue and staple gun. No squeaking or loose dividers.
Hi Nick,
I love what you've done with the van... I'm considering a Transit Custom myself along with a couple of Van Vault's like you've got set up but could you possibly show me if/how you fit tool boxes in the vaults? I'm fed up of bringing all my gear in on an evening and sometimes I leave it in the van (laziness and negligence) I can't find the internal dimensions to measure up myself.
Cheers
Hi great video could u do a video on the Stanley storage boxes and what u keep in them please
Try using some battens to support the full depth of the shelf, use so grab adhesive to which will give the wood a little play to stop things rattling loose.
Will you do a video of the velocity rogue 4.5 unilite back pack? Or a whats in my bag episode?
Hi Nick, have you looked at the Metrax racking, (they make the silicone holders etc) really good on price and well made..
Great video mate
Good video what do you keep in the van vaults?
You want some vertical pieces of black conduit below each of those wire rolls and feed the ends through, tie them around, job done! Youâll always find ya ends and be able to tie them off, also a square pipe through the middle stops them unwinding too đ
What glue did you use for the rubber matting, I put some down in my van and the glue hasnât held too well.
Nice Nick. Very nice.
Thanks for sharing !
Those work benches look great, wooden shelving will usually wear out given the amount it suffers in a work van - repairs dead easy though.
Did you do a video of how you installed your van lights
Hi Nick. I recommend to use RIVET NUTS in your van. They are much stronger. Regards from Hungary. An another Sparky guy.
Do you have a link to the Stanley trays with metal catches.
Hi Nick solve your issues with self tapping screws coming loose all the time in the steel struts in the van use Rivnuts theyâre brilliant, just bolt your shelf to the van sides
12:52 I get a mention đ vans looking good man đđ»
Nice idea to blow torch the tables in the unit!
Sika flex is good for racking due to staying flexible and my old racking was solely held in with sika flex and didnât budge đ€đ»đ€đ»
Vans đŻ% there bro a few suggestions for upgrades
More heavy duty brackets would help the shelf support your ones are toys
You can put silicone at the rear of the timber so it doesnât make the rubbing noises
And lable up your boxs so your gear is easy to find đ
Second hand bott racking on eBay sometimes comes up for a good price! Have it in van and served me well .
I have the Bott racking in my van,(Im not an electrician) but have heavy Tote boxes and all then vans I've had over the years never have an issue with the racking
I use silicone along with screws works a treat
Whatâs the depth of the racking at the left and right rear of the van? What width does it leave the usable floor space, above the van vaults?
How did you wired up the lights inside ? They keep burning ? My lights turn off depending on the battery .. when eco mode kicks in they die to save battery ...
I'm thinking about going it alone but haven't got a gold card. What quals you got bud or do you even need the gold card? Cheers
Nice dude thanks for that. I been meaning to ask more questions lol
hi nick hope this helps for fixings in girders at height hammer on girder gripper clips for cable anthing heavier a short lenght of uni strut the width of the gider your fixing to with two girder clamps this will cut your time on the job and make it safer for working at height kind regards Steve
Amazingly organised! 've ry nice. Too bad about the "accident"! đđ€Ł Oh dear, oh dear!
Can you link the rubber matting please mate
What is that 3d printer called if you don't mind me asking
Can you do a video on the veto testing bag keep the video coming đ
Whatâs the power bank youâve got there? Any links?
Amazing mate
Smashing videođ
I saw you dropping that before you did haha
Have you got the van vault dividers that you mentioned in the van tour? And if so could you show us in a video?
Yeah no problem bud
It's Pretty heavy plywood you installed. I recommend any Airplane Boeing has very light weight plywood. Thumb up Cheer!
Great video đ typo in the description you put hank you to tradify đ
Fixed thank you
Working from a van 3 things are so important
Lighting, plenty of.
storage boxes, plenty of.
Racking to take the storage boxes.
Nick it still looks really good after lots of use and 6 or so months! Question, what music did you use in the video? As a Consumer I wonder do your customers now prefer or feel more comfortable with paying you since you have started using Tradify? I only as ask I recently had to pay someone who has a sole company via a bank transfer, and the bank (because of recent and ongoing fraudsters) asked me loads of questions to ensure I was not being defrauded. I didn't mind, but am curious what it's like for a trader like you.
You could maybe use some washing line pegs or bulldog clips for your wire reels on your door to hold your ends in place
Where do you get your rubber flooring from ?
Instead of brackets you could use some wooden battens to sit the shelves on. Someting like 18mm*44m
The unit is literally the thing of dreams... if your as sad as I am, Iâd live in the place đ
Sad but stick with it you will have one soon enough maybe even an apprentice...
@@mathman0101 Iâve got an apprentice already math đ usually hiding somewhere on his phone
Nice tidy van! i like it! :D
Sincerley
Swedish Electrician
The sleeving reels mate, you should be able to 3d print something to grab the loose ends or use a bulldog clip. As someone else has said, use rivnuts and large steel brackets to hold that cable reel shelf and that should never come loose again. Shame about the mug, I spat my tea out when I watched that!
When will Adam be getting the other van?
Im not sure if it would be any better but instead of using self tappers to fix to the van itself you should maybe try riv nuts? Might hold better possibly worth a try.
Hey mate, what year is Adam upto in his apprenticeship? ?
1:40 - LMAO! Oh dear! Oh dear! đđđđ
Yeah. I can relate to the mug incident.
2:05 Aww he killed it đđđ
I from malaysia.. i am eletrician.. i look very smart racking this van đ
Try Rivnuts for fixing the shelving, its changed my life
11.49, if you look on the earth sleeving reels there are small cardboard knockouts to solve your issue. Just tuck the sleeving inside the hole to stop it unraveling.... đđ»
Instead of using angle brackets just put a bit of 2x2 the length on the shelves then screw down from the top and into the side. This will be a lot stronger and less likely to snap :)
Instead of self tapping to the bodywork how about using some rivinuts? And some aluminium angle to support the shelf rather than a small bracket?
Bolts man..... With large fender washers. use 1"x2" furring strips instead of brackets, don't use pieces of plywood, use solid 1x2 lumber. That will help distribute the weight across the whole shelf width and depth. đ
Is that music not trade marked
Glad itâs not just my van thatâs 1 a mess at the end of the week and 2 have squeaky racking
Oh fuck! ya mug đđđ your face was priceless đđđ
Whereâs the rubber matting from mate
Another one, blank of a 300mm pice of conduit, fix to board on back door and tuck the ends of those cables into tube, or tubes, stops them unrolling all over the place, or use a couple of screws with washers to hold some bungee cord to the board on back door..tuck the ends of cable behind it...sorted
Question time:
When you go to a house that has had a new consumer unit installed in let's say 2015 and it is a plastic one, would you recommend to the customer to have it upgraded to the current regulations of a metal one. Keeping in mind most customers aren't really to fussed about it and won't want another consumer unit upgrade so soon after.
If you would recommend it how would you go about recommending an upgrade? đ
Donât know about nick but I would be recommending rcbo s over metal enclosures, nothing wrong with plastic if all torqued up correctly.
@@supersparks9466 yeah RCBO's all the way. I think that is kind of the point of the metal though haha the key word you used was "if" đ€Łđ€Ł
You havnt understood me, youâre question was to advise customer to swap cu for metal. I wouldnât necessarily advise that on its own if the cu was fairly new and had rcd and mcbs. You would be better to advise about the advantages of rcbo s , then you can give them a metal cu as well.
@@supersparks9466 yeah I know what you mean. Have to take into consideration that majority of customers don't care about their cu they will say but I have never had any problems why would I spend ÂŁ400+ to do something that isn't a problem. đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
You ever consider getting it sign written up? To be fair probably looks better without it but your thoughts?
His old van was. But now heâs a superstar
On his old videos he did, van kept getting robbed. Can't have anything nice.
At 4.30 you said you knew you had a some squeeking going on... I had the same problem in my van.. couple of mouse traps solved the problem đ€·ââïž
Where'd you get the rubber mat from?
Never mind the rubber matt get him a rubber mug.
do you check your view daily, weekly or do you just notice high views
Daily mate
Iâm on call and every time your phone rings it scares me lol
Where did you get your alloys from?
eBay mate
I spy some AirPod Pros, how are you getting on with them?
Come on PUSH - Nick to overtake Jordan - PUSH Harder... PS thanks Nick you all the support and love for GSH Electrical and my daughter Vienna đđŠŸ.
Hey matey,..
In the time it took to fix that racking, you pair could have rewired a council estate...đ
You should see the back of my van , ffs đ
Do you finance your van or did you buy it with cash outright ?
Brought it out right mate đ
For what you have there Nick just bolt some medium gauge cable tray together instead of the wood.
You need some rubber on that floor great video a girlfri
I finally ripped out my wooden racking after the L brackets broke for the last time and self tappers ripped out of the metal of the van frame. Ive just ordered my Bott smart racking at a cost of 3.5kđ„Ž I will do a vid before and after it's a L3H2 Transit.
I think you need some nice high vis wear to bump up the subscribers đ€Ł
