    Thank you for the simplest explanation. I have a doubt, you have mentioned that we can also maintain sub-batches for the material based on its additional characteristics such quality, size, price etc. apart from its color. Such as brown sugar has delivered in 3 different qualities and prices so how can we maintain those separately in different sub-batches? Do we have any option in SAP to maintain that as well apart from split valuation such as sub batches thing? One more humble request could you please also explain the concept of automatic batch determination process in SAP MM with some real-time examples? Thank you so much in advance.

    sir, but what if we plan to make inhouse production instead of sending PO to external vendor, then what step will come after creating batch document? or is it used only for external procurement process?

    Hi Ram,How to find out self life expire of a material by using batch management and what is the step up need to do for this ?where do we need to do the configuration for LIFO & FIFO Strategy in batch management?How to do the set up to select the system for self life expiry material should pickup first

      For FIFO and LIFO we need to create selection class and sort rule and assign these to batch strategy (T code MBC1 )

    Sir my doubt is - what my knowledge regarding batch was before watching this video is , batch is something to identify the production of material at the same time like if we produced 100 material in a day then we can give those material same batch and next day production will have different batch , but after watching this video I got to know that ,batch is something related to material characteristic and it is always same ?

      You can maintain different valuation types(badi) and also you can use split valuation

      My question is if user forgot to enter the batch while creating purchase order for a perticular material, system has to trigger error message that batch is not maintained.how to map this.

      We can have messages only if they enter wrong batch because not every material is batch managed
