    Lesson learned: Don't put a metal cube under a frozen 80mm metal balls when you want to crush it or else it won't break, instead it will break everything except for it.

    Increíble!!!! Quedé atónito al ver la explosión y los desastres que hizo. Una hipótesis que tengo, ya que la bola a temperatura ambiente llego a las 500 toneladas, y la base lo soportó, es que la bola congelada, enfrió la base y eso hizo que llegara sólo a 350 toneladas. Saludos desde Argentina.

      Se fracturó cuanto llegó ah 500tons y después el segundo intento con congelada ya estaba un 50% de daño y allí explotó :/ esa es mi idea

    I don't know what the upper piston face was made of, but the lower block needed to be hardened in some way. Pushing the ball into a divot spreads the loading quite a bit.

    The steel base probably has a ductile-fragile temperature higher than the ball. Locally the steel base was frozen by contact with ball and behaved fragilely.

      The second time it's wasn't flattening from pressure at bottom it hadn't shown even a little change in shape and the brick cannot handle that much pressure on a very small area

    An 80mm frozen metal ball is impossible to destroy with a hydraulic press, because it can destroy everything that are seen to prevent damages to the house, including the camera.

      The press does cost a lot. This guy makes bank off CZcams so he doesn’t care about cost. The press is heavy machinery and is made with strong material. With proper care it should last a while

      @@catwiener22 I'm sure he makes good money, I would be concerned that if something broke though it would take forever to get parts and stuff these days. It's pretty incredible how well made something like that is if you take into consideration the load and then the shock that rapid release in energy would be. I have a small press and any time stuff slips or pops I'm like well there goes my press. It has yet to break though lol.

      @@ohthatscoo who knows how long it could take to get parts where he’s at. It is insane on how much stress gets put on the machine without breaking. It can go from 4,000kg to 0kg in milliseconds without breaking any parts on the press

    Really impressive but, why did the cube stand 500 tones with the ball at room temp. And then collapse at 300 something with the cooled one? And btw, is steel not "glassified" at that temp? (I don't know the word in English, I mean that temp. When maleable matter behaves as glass because of too much cooling)

      I think the steel block break because it become brittle since it not have high enough temp to deform, while the cyrogenic ball have maximum molecul density to achieve max strength
