- The German battlefields of World War II were both in the hot desert, and in the icy mud. In winter, in addition to clothing, the heating equipment and sufficient food were more required. I don't believe that even a German soldier had such a picnic. They had nothing. I think this diorama is not well thought out. Greetings from Germany Torsten
Nothing? You think they starved throughout the duration of the war? You're forgetting that in the early years of the war they appeared to be winning, and they were able to requisition what they wanted from the countries they invaded. A historic picture search will reveal images similar to this (minus the checkered table cloth; couldn''t find any of those).
