- Just some thinking out loud. How easy would it be to make the 65 Nova 2 door post Gasser into a 64 by using parts from the 64 Nova SS Coupe?
not as easy as you might think.

Awesome video Luka and I didn't realize that they were so different!
How about putting the AMT Nova wagon on the gasser chassis. Now that sounds fun.
That's a good one to do.
Marko Customs is doing that, looks good.
I trimmed the 64 taillight panel to work on the 65
I'm so happy I found this video however I'm using an amt 66 pro street chassis and using a 64 body. Here we go.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
The chassis from the AMT '66 Nova Pro Street is almost a drop in in the Moebius Nova bodies. Just some minor tapering of the rearmost side portions of the chassis is all that's needed. The wheelbase looks dead on.
Never knew they were that much different! Still think you could do it with some work.
Yet I find myself saying ( what's wrong with stock ? ) I remember seeing these cars everywhere . Nobody ever makes a model of there first car or one that belonged to somebody else but stands out of your mind with a story .not everybody had hot rods , just dreamers . 😉👍 ahh your first date you brought to the " DRIVE IN " LOl
I owed a 65 hard top that was tub the complete front clip are different and 66 & 67 fenders are different to
you can do it sir cool video
HAY BOSS MAN, YOU MIGHT KNOW THIS BY NOW SINCE THIS VIDEO IS A YEAR OLD. BUT THE '65 POST BODY SEDAN KIT COMES WITH 2 TRUNK TAIL LIGHT CLIPS. '65 DUAL TAIL LIGHTS. AND A SINGLE TAIL LIGHT CLIP.
1965 nova post cars had the small back window when compared to the large back window from 1962-1964. I had two 65 nova post cars before getting my 65 nova SS. It looks like you can enlarge the rear window opening for the 62-64 model years and maybe use some clear material to make your own real window? It will take some doing but can be done..and if your going to make a 65 SS from the 64 hardtop...your gonna need the AMT 65 nova gasser tail light panel for the trim. Also..somehow one would need to graft the 65 nova SS emblems on the 64 quarters.
Also, if you want to put the 64 grill on the 65 body really you can notch the front fenders or...cut the turn signal trim off. Would most gasser cars have that trim? 🤔 is the trim that crucial? By having the1964 front grill/headlights and bumper along with the 1964 tail light panel its pretty much there. Your right about having to shave off much of the trunk trim..but the alternative is using the 64 tail lights and 65 trunk panel...but that sounds like more work right there..it was just a thought.
Good info. Thanks

Your welcome👍. On the 1965 post..I don't know how to explain it, but where it's flat around the window before those lines go into the roofline is kinda the area you want to remove for the big back window. I converted an AMT 1963 to a 1965 not that long ago. I get some of the struggles. But with determination and your mad skills it can be done.
Do the 442.
Hey sir I don't know about your box but my 65 box the gasser came with both tails the 64 and the 65 and the Chrome pieces for the light I checked the front but sorry
Nothing worth creating what you want to build is easy! Like ya said L.C it all depends how much you want to do! Good luck !
There still way behind the Japanese manufacturers way of doing things. Mold one body to accept 10 or so trim packages and various years.
WELLLLL THAT'S A BUMMER 😞😞😞‼️‼️ But Hey They're STILL BITCHEN Kits None-The-Less 🤗🤗🤗. Thanks For Sharing n Have a Blessed Time With Felix , He'll Cheer You Up 🤓🤓. Gary
From what you have shown here, it is certainly possible to make the swap, but there is an incredible amount of work that would need to be done. If your up to the challenge, then go for it. Thanks for sharing.
The c pillars between a 65 sedan and an earlier sedan are different. The angle is different. Look at the pics you showed.
Thank you!
The 65 is sedan the 64 is a hard top
@@brianlewis6926 on the real cars, a 65 sedan has a different c pillar than earlier sedans. Look at the orange sedan in the video.
@@Scale_Model_Mayhem I know the back glass is different from the earlier one's
do just a prostreet car with all chrome
It can be done. Styrene, bondo, trimming and ingenuity.
Where did I say it couldn't be done? I'm showing you what it would take. I just do want to take it that far. That was the point of the video.
I owned a 63 2door sedan the body style really didn’t change till 66 in the hardtop or coupe or my 2dr sedan just slight changes in front grill and tail lights I know because it took me awhile to find parts
Thank you
The roof on the '65 sedan is different than the 63-64.
Since I have a 65 Nova resin kit, I'm planning to buy 2 of the new 64 kits & experiment to see if the new kit works in the 65, if not, I'll figure it out
Hi Mr Cee, I'm sorry but I don't see why you are exchanging the Front Grills, and taillights from one to the other, the only thing that should change is the FRAMES, and DRIVE LINES
Can you cut the front section (around 5mm) and rear section (5mm) from each model and swap the parts ? You may have to lower the roof on one and extend the other car's roof height. You should be able to fabricate the changes easy.
The year swapping can still be done, but it's going to take some serious plastic surgery. I'm very surprised about the different mounting holes for the rear taillight panel. I was hoping mobius would have made things a little easier to swap years. It would promote more kit sales. I haven't yet ordered a few of both kits, but I'm about to. Good luck with your ideas. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you do with these two kits. Thanks for sharing this with us all. Don
Oh no peeps.... he's been thinking, AGAIN! 😳😳
You remember, what happened last time? 😉😆😂
Come on Mr. Cee, go for it....put yourself through the pain, suffering and misery so that we don't have to! 😉😆😂
Looking forward to see what you'll whip together, will it be your own "what if" gasser? 🤨🤔😎
I hope that all is well at your end my friend! 🤜🏻🤛🏻🍻
Can't you just cut and swap the fenders? That is if the body lines are the same down the sides..🤔
Got a solution to ur problem
Cut off the front ends and make it a flip nose as far as the back panel the one in my kit has the 64 tail panel not the 65
you have me confused.....i get the swapping bodies.....but why are you trying to do it without swapping the add'l body parts?
Well...crap. Oh well, looks like I'm gonna be modifying the '64 to make my idea work! It'll be worth it, though!
Glad the video helped
In reality, 62-65 front fenders and hoods are the same. The 65 grille, headlight bezels, hood lip molding and bumper is 65 only. Trunk lid has reverse lights in it. Come on man cut some styrene and have fun building a 65! 😎🏁
I made a 70 El Camino when the AMT 68 elco came out by cutting off the front clip of the AMT 70 Chevelle and putting it on the 68 body. It.can be done 😎🏁
No they aren't 65 is a one year only hood fenders & grills are different had one. You can make the fenders and hood work from the earlier years
@@brianlewis6926 they are the same. The fenders and hood. Trim on the fenders are different but the sheetmetal fits 62-65. Ive owned a 62 and a 65. You dare to challenge me yung jedi..... 😆
What about the rear window roofline difference, to me that’s the most prominent difference
@@jamesdalton7191 they're different. Where the scallops are and the wheel opening. hard to tell
@@brianlewis6926 not sure what you're seeing. I work on classic cars and trucks and sell the parts to restore them. Front fenders and hoods are the same. Used originals are the same also.65 Hood edge molding is unique to 65 and side trim is different. Besides that the sheet metal is the same. And yes a sedan roof is different than a sport coupe.
It's not a coupe sand away the Chrome
And remember kids, measure once and cut three times......
No,nope thats not right..
