I was lucky enough to see Yunah Lee’s live performance at Orange County Performance Art Center last night, it was so magnificent, the singing, the facial expression, the body language.... Brava!

Its a wonderful opera. And above all to be seen still in a surrounding suiting to this opera. Like it should be. Today there mostly no sceneries at all because all were replaced by boring wooden boxes or a few wooden walls and often the performers don t wear the matching costumes.. If I only could see people on stage singing to me, I might listen to a C D as well..This development is disgusting, because it takes these art works out of their time. But it corresponds to the sick direction of sobriety and the abolition of everything traditional culture.

How considerate that she is covering the boys ears during the farewell at the end, whenever she has to sing something really loud. You can really damage a childs hearing badly, with up close operatic singing.
And again the american audiences show their lack of consideration for the music. As soon as a curtain falls they start clapping, no matter if the music is still playing.
They do that everywhere. I watch Royal Opera House recordings made in the UK and people are shouting "BRAVO" before the curtains even close. But keep hating americans for every little thing you can think of, racist.

butterfly was only 15 yo, her voice must reflect more tenderness, innocence... not so bad but need a lot more work and surrendering from the performers

na minha opinião é uma boa versão de Madame Buterfly. A cantora é excelente e representa a personagem tal como eu a imagino. O tenor tem boa voz mas a representação não convence. Ele veja o video desta opera realizada em 1974 ao vivo, por Placido Domingo e Mirella Freni e talvez aprenda alguma coisa sobre representação.. de qualquer modo um espectáculo notável

I’m wondering how many of the commenters have seen a Puccini opera in a real opera house like Vienna or La Scala or Covent Garden. It’s really good for regional Opera, but it lacks the soul and depth that runs through the fiber of the great houses.
