This was moving and touching, very emotional because this hits home like so many others who've experience having family members with cancer. God bless everyone on here who've gone through cancer or know someone who's going through it. Im thinking of Kim Zimmer, I didnt know about her situation, you got this Kim! Good to see Erika Sleazak, I've thought about her and continue to pray for her and her family. Lets stand up to cancer and show it WILL NOT win! Thank everyone who participated in this special show, and Alan and Michael, you two did an awesome job hosting! We will always remember the soap family we lost from this hideous disease, God bless you and your family! ❤

I cannot tell you how wonderful this was- incredibly moving and impactful. Between Kim Zimmer, Erika Slezak, and Andrea Evans's husband and absolutely WONDERFUL daughter (what an impressively well spoken young lady)- I just came away crying but completely grateful for this wonderful benefit. Every story was so important and it is so great that these folks shared their stories and experiences-

💯🙏 my brother who I take care of was given three years it’s going to be 17 years this August ,with his rare form of cancer most people don’t survive three years. He always tells me he never thinks about it never . I will keep you in my prayers, and I hope you have a wonderful support team around you .

My uncle has stage 4 lung cancer and never smoked but thanks to Gene therapy it's in remission. My grandfather who died when I was 6 months of age had leukemia or blood cancer from working on electronics trying to make the world safer and had to get weekly blood transfusions and they gave him the wrong blood type and that's what actually killed him that was February 1979.
But most likely even if that never happened he would have ended up with aids as back then they never screened the blood like they do now.
We have come a long way but Germany has treatments for cancer that has not been approved in the US yet those treatments kept Eddie van Halen alive for around another 10 15 years until covid happened and he could not take a plane to germany to get his treatments.
But I can tell you things that were considered terminal like benjamin said then can get treated and prolong life I just wish they had been around for my grandmother.
All I remember was she went for a checkup they found cancer on her lung or a spot she had surgery and 4 months later we had a party for her and the next day she was in the hospital. And a, week later the doctor at the hospital said ohh your cancer originated in the liver but now it's spread and we can give you treatment but it might extend your life maybe 2 months so my grandmother declined and was sent home and went on hospice she died on November 2002 on election day.
But let's say it was a good thing in a way she went without knowing the election results because she would have been extremely unhappy with those results that year.
And I still miss her a lot because she was a great cook and she was into art and art museums and encouraged creativity like my grandfather did. And she let's say was ahead of her time let's say she was the type that could have had a TV show where she could have gone in and redesigned houses like an interior decorator as she was always wanting to redesign stuff.
And her expressions she used at times was like out of old Hollywood like she would say marvelous wonderful or grande a lot and terms like peachy.
      Anyway stay strong

I enjoyed this. I'm glad there have been stories about breast cancer explored on daytime. Another storyline I would also like to see explored would be Colon Cancer. I haven't seen one about it yet.

Alan what a great event and like I promised I bit my tounge and did not go into the aftermath of the Lilian breast cancer storyline. Also who knew Micheal fairman was such a talented singer.
When I heard his voice I was literely blown away at how much his voice sounded quite a bit like cj snare the vocalist of the band firehouse and cj just lost his fight with cancer last month because his immune system was so weak from cancer treatments he went into cardiac arrest.
Any way Alan I had an idea for next years event as I am starting to get into guitar building and making my own electric guitars and was thinking maybe I will build a guitar with images of fallen soap stars and donate it next year and they could be signed by daytime stars and auctioned off next year who knows I might make 2 that could be auctioned off.
Just an idea I had for the next one.
And yes I could probably just buy a cheap branded guitar and paint it but because, I am a quality freak and tone freak,
I might as well do them myself even if I have to buy cheap Chinese guitar necks rip up the fretboards route them out for a good quality truss rod.
Because whether someone wants it for eye candy or a decorative piece to hang on thier wall or play the crap out of it.
    It should be high quality.
Anyway as usaul a fine event you and Micheal put together and for next time I would like to do something like a guitar build that can be auctioned off and signed by the daytime stars.
    Have a great weekend.
