Tacitus words present a huge problem for those that teach a European / light / olive Egypt because we know for a fact that Ethiopians are not European. There’s no logical reason anyone would ever confuse a European with an Ethiopian. In addition to the Old Testament clarification, Tacitus also confirms an incident in the New Testament.
Let's remember, in the Bible, every mention of Ethiopia us actually referencing Kush/ Nubia. There was no country that called themselves Ethiopia until the late 1800s. What Tacitus called Ethiopia was also Kush/ Sudan.
The descendants of ancient Kushites live primarily in southern Sudan. The darkest pigmented people on earth.
In Acts 21:37-38, the Apostle Paul was visually mistaken to be an Egyptian. This suggests that Paul was a dark skinned Jewish Christian.

Egyptians were black but were more BROWN Skinned Africans, NOT tanned.

Uh if you look up the actual meaning of Cush it doesn't refer to skin color, it refers to spiritual nature. Esau, red. Sin scarlet. etc. White, pure. Gold, pure character. Amber, glory of God.
