Like me, you're a hands-on learner. Watch these tutorials and keep playing the actual game. Learn through trial and error. Remember the yellow spaces on the card. They indicate how the card can help you create movement on the board. The red squares enhance the values of the other cards. This is chess with playing cards. Unfortunately, this is not checkers. Every card has its own unique placement on the board.
#1 Tip: Board control matters more than anything, even what is in your deck. You can beat almost every opponent with the starter deck with the right positioning.
The game was poorly designed that's why, opponent sometimes just boxed themselves in.
What's funny is, I absolutely do not like card games. I purposefully skipped all of it leading up to the cruise ship. Then they force you to play it. At first I was getting my ass kicked. But once I figured out the mechanics, I was actually starting to have fun lol. So much so, I even went back to the previous areas and cleared every card game before moving forward 😅
Yeah this game really does this to you, with all those mini games! For better or worse :)
Is it forced or can you skip it?
@@erichuifitness If I remember correctly it's not part of main story quests at least. But as with everything, you miss out on side quests if you don't. Pros and cons.
Doesn't force you to play, it's optional. You can immediately talk to someone to drop out of the tournament. Doesn't change anything and you don't lose out on anything.

You don’t need to beat titan to get it. Thorin sells it during the “rare card quest” regardless.
Sometimes it is a good Idea to pass on your first turn and let the opponent make the first move. there were several times that this strategy was the only way I could beat some opponents.
This deck you showed will help a lot bc it just feels super random to me
Just a heads uo for everyone because a lot have been saying they are forced to play this. You arent. You can forfeit every tournament at the lady in the right at the counter. And no one is forced to battle the players in the open world.
They’re even kind enough to tell you you can forfeit the tournament before anything even starts. People just be skipping dialogue and tool tips like their lives depend on it.

Thank you 🙏🏻 I wasn't ready for a compulsory card mini game in FF7R but I'm surprisingly really getting into it, there's a nice rhythm to the gameplay, it's kinda addicting and the music is a low-key banger lol this guide has really helped my overall understanding and thanks for the deck recommendations, life saver!
1. I want a random opponent option. Like a bar where all the players are at.
2. I do hope they make this into a separate downloadable. I usually don’t get into the side games but this and Condor are amazing

If I didn’t fall in love with Gwent on my 2nd/3rd playthrough of Witcher 3 I probably would have hated this game. Absolutely love it though, wish there were more people to battle.
Glad I eventually gave Gwent a go which made me force myself to give this a try. Which game do you prefer?
@@beaumont6541 honestly really tough one. Gwent is probably the better game just because there’s way more of it, exploring a properly open world and finding cards and challengers all over the place. Queen’s Blood is a bit easier imo but it is very fun. Then again I’m only halfway through Rebirth at the moment so it has the potential to overtake Gwent for sure!
Gwent was so much better and easier to understand. I loved gwent.
@@deantheyter9858 Gwent actually took me a bit longer to understand. QB just clicked for me almost instantly. Although that might be because of Gwent. After a bit more time with QB I think Gwent is better, more fleshed out and tactical. QB is much easier and hasn’t had me raging shouting insults at the NPCs beating me 😂

My deck is similar but you need the card loveless the closer to the middle you can play it the better. That gives ifrit some crazy numbers

i didnt want to try it , but is actually fun .
I'm on the Cruise ship right now about to do the tournament. lol I have close to zero training or knowledge of Queens blood (I always skipped) but If I'm joining a tournament then I want to win. lol
I put together a decent deck and managed to breeze my way through most of the matches, including the tourney on the Shinra-8. But now I'm getting hard blocked by one of the "easy" challenges in the Gold Saucer. Guess my deck is not as good as I thought it was
It may just take a few adjustments and a lucky reset or two. I’ve cleared up to everything available at the Gold Saucer in ch8 with a modded starter deck and some lucky and/or strategic card placements.
@@AzarathMetreon yeah i kept trying and eventually beat it. took, honest to god, about 10 attempts. it was the very first golden saucer challenge, the one with the juiced up cactuar card. the rest of the challenges were much more managable.
I love this mini game. Only one in the game I enjoy. I would petition this to be multiplayer 😅

I don’t know why people are bashing the mini games I think it’s fun… I like that the creators took time to make these and didn’t just add it on as a DLC it shows their effort.

For the rank 1 and 2 cards you almost always get two cards of the same copy for winning „one“
It's chess with playing cards. I'm only 75 hours into the game now. Trying to go back and play all the players that I skipped due to lack of initial interest.
I wish this mini game wasn’t directly tied to the story or content. I hated having to play everyone then the tournament as well. Hopefully there’s no more requirements for gear or anything
I cant get ifrit card. I've completed all quests and Intel in the grass lands, all Intel in junin area and bought both titan and Phoenix. Am I missing something?

Queens blood game is actually very fun really enjoy challenging people much better than fort condor

The amount of comments claiming this game is BSRG, that’s simply not true. It does take a sizable amount of skill, perhaps to pick it up quickly, though.

@Manfaceguy04 it's most likely a case of "here are cards that you missed" situation. Like how weapon shops sell you weapons that you missed before getting there.
your recommended deck for "early game" has NONE of the cards that i have and im at corel
You obviously didn't play some of the early players, didn't check Thorin's card shop, and didn't buy any booster packs if you don't have ANY of these cards by the time you reach Corel. The majority of the cards are obtainable in the Grasslands/Kalm with a couple of them in Under Junon.
I still have yet to find a video that explains how to play this game in a detailed way that people can understand...smh

What deck would you suggest for an idiot, ME , who thought he could go the entire game without touching Queen's Blood beyond the tutorial? Now I'm in Corel Prison. I don't have any cards besides the ones given to me in the beginning and all the booster packs you can buy.
I used to play yugioh when I was kid maybe it’s just me but I was confused at first then dominated this game out of nowhere I beat the tourney with no problem but now as I’m gaining level my deck is just not working 😂
I’ve been avoiding QB not because I think it sucks but because I’m scared of how much I think it’ll pull me away from doing everything else in the game lol

Its fun up until to the point where you reach the boot camp and youre stuck with a certain number of cards then the enemy proceeds to draw cards up their asses its so stupid

very simple game to play, I win every match on a simple deck just by controlling the board. you want a cactuar and crystalline crab in your deck, and level one cards that open up tiles to the right or above. you win if you can have full control of 3 columns then place the cactuar and crab cards in slots where they will buff your basic cards.

This is almost as bad as the card game in ff9…I hated that too, you either get good or get lucky. Unfortunately I’m neither when it comes to games like this 😢😂

They could've left this, item transmuter, and folios out and I would missed any of it. Too much random shit just watered down the game pacing. I mean we have a world to save but let's dick around the grassland for 10 hours.

Another god damned giant pile of crap in my path to enjoying the game. Im 240 hours in just starting hard mode after spending 2 months on the battle simulator. I do not understand or like this and searching and trying to understand for hours is another reason I am against this game. I had it at an A grade at 60 hours. At 110 B- at 200 C now it's a D. TIME SLOG.
Early in game with trash cards and always being forced to go first, it's such a disadvantage against higher level opponents.
