I was born in Texas, and I see TONS of American flags around my neighborhood in Ohio right now. I've even seen Confederate flags in Ohio, which surprised me, since Ohio was never part of the Confederacy, but I think it's just a way for people to advertise their racism or whatever.

Just so you know, the first mode is really chill and has a great vibe.
In response to Dan saying that more tension is better for viewers, I couldn't disagree more when it comes to geoguesser. I love the more chill vibes, I like when Arin takes a long time to guess and is explaining his process. Something about it is just relaxing. I don't like when it's rushed or frantic as much, I prefer the slower more methodical process, but that's just me!

While it's fun to watch Arin sweat and panic, sometimes it's just better to just chill and slow things down. Also if he actually slowed down and did the world stuff, he'd actually know where Jakarta is and not embarass himself.

Tbh I like the episodes where Dan and arin were going against each other more than the multiplayer. It's a tad more enjoyable. Tension is not always the answer for better things to watch. Geoguesser is more of a chiller game I think. I liked hearing them explain how they think it's a place or how they explain their process instead of go into a match basically losing and the episode is over. Overall I do like them playing geoguesser it's still some of the best games I enjoy watching them play.

As an American I don't really know any flags besides Britain and maybe Mexico. Plus there's so many that have the same colors in different orders. Other flags are confusing 😂

If you're only talking most European countries sure I can see that, unless talking countries like Slovakia or Croatia that have a crest on the flag that helps differentiate it from the others.
But even then in just Europe alone you have flags like Albania, Montengro, Moldova, Greece, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Spain that are wholly unique and stand out more clearly.
But that's really the joy in learning geography is finding out there ARE indeed unique flags out there and how that goes a long way to figuring out where you are.
But then again the US treats geography as a joke course which is why we have kids nowadays who don't know where any state besides their home state, Texas, California and Florida are, let alone anything else in the world 😒
gotta remember, most US curriculums don't spend much, if any, time on other country's flags as they do in Europe

I think Arin is under the assumption you have to guess in the exact same way the best Geoguessr players do it, which is to say by sheer memorization of the flora and fauna of specific regions of the world. Which is. An assumption to make.

To be fair, hilly regions with heavy undergrowth, dense trees, and dry underbrush alongside train lines running through a residential area... that's exclusively the east coast, PA or Virginia mostly
Trains in the US can actually be helpful in narrowing down area of guesses. Like if its BNSF (orange, black and yellow locomotives) or Union Pacific (yellow and grey locomotives) it's likely midwest to west coast whereas CSX (blue, yellow and grey lovomotives) means more east and northeast and Norfolk Southern (black and white locomotives) means more east and south. Granted there's a ton of shortline operators and city specific companies too but knowing the big 4 goes a LONG way.
