Beautiful. I love that you just try it and you learn along the way.
Gorgeous and so worth the pain!!!That is almost exactly the finish I have in my head for what I want to do for my living room furniture !! I have really heavy rustic rough finish furniture that was made for me that I love, but its barn red and I'm over that color.
Turned out great. What a transformation!
I think drinking coffee (or tea) and painting (or staining) furniture is the key of happiness... Great work
Gorgeous!!! I can’t wait to try this! I’ve worked with some pretty terrible veneer & you have inspired me! ❤️❤️❤️
Obsessed!! Trying something similar on a 3 part bookcase I snagged!
This is gorgeous your such a inspiration to me . I just came across you yesterday , I was looking for inspo on white washing and chalk paint and geez did I hit the jack pot finding your channel. That is exactly what I’m doing next. I LOVE how it turned out so much of a driftwood effect. I have a bunch of my moms old solid furniture that I’m planning to do all in white washed and driftwood effects to take to our Florida house we just bought! This is so helpful, thanks and I’m totally a fan of you and your work . Great vid and tutorial 💖

Ive been binge watching your video during this coronavirus. You have taught me so much!! Thank you Christina! You’re a great teacher!! Ive been purposely watching the ads before your videos as a way of saying thank you.
Thank you for the kind words!
I NEED to re-do my parents’ 1960 bedroom suite that we have and this has inspired me! Thanks!!
Love it! It came out very nice!
Yes! I’d love a step by step video on this finish! Thank you for sharing the trial and error process with us! Isn’t it funny how sometimes the ‘error’ leads to a creative solution that ends up better than you originally imagined?! ;)
It’s up! And this one turned out even better. 😊 czcams.com/video/Znhmoyvea3A/video.html
This is so gorgeous!!

Ditto. Hi. Maureen from Australia. You seem to make finishes and colors in the exact thing that I've been looking for. I love the chalk paint look but also love white wash and lime wash look. This was a great lesson for making something quite different! Thank you and keep up the fantastic work.

Not my favorite stripper to work with. I think her name is Sprinkles...Zing! All jokes aside that citrus stuff wasn’t working so well when I attempted this. I switched to max strip, which was a bit cheaper but actually worked better. Supposed to be environmentally friendly too(now I sound like an ad). Loved the nightstand video, but this is awesome that you show the journey and hiccups. Thanks so much for sharing! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the feedback!
Wow 🤩 you live in TN , Me too .
Looks great! I’m getting ready to do this but if I don’t have the base brown tone I want on my wood, what type/color stain would you recommend prior to white washing?
Hi Christina! I stripped an older Restoration Hardware dining table that had a very dark stain following your videos, and it worked out perfectly, thank you so much!! Now, I want to achieve that beautiful grey wash on the bare veneer, but can’t decide how to go about it. You once used Varathane Sunbleached on a table....would you recommend that on a veneer? What grey wash technique are you happiest with that (gave you that beautiful RH)? Do I do the Sunbleached stain route or the whitewashed with the grey wax on top?
Just a tip I use with this stripper, if you cover the area with clear cling wrap when you paint it on and leave it for an hour it keeps it "active" and works much better :) I usually only ever need one coat of the citristrip :)
Thanks for the tip. I’ve seen this done. I added a caption about it in my latest vid because of your suggestion. Thank you!
Can you put white chalk wax over your project and then seal it with krylon's matte finish protective.
Love the restoration! My wife wants to do something similar to this to our 5 piece dark cherry bedroom set. This is a great tutorial! I was wondering how many hours of work you think you have into that one piece. Thanks
Check out my nightstand video. It gives the step by step on how to get this look. I think it took around 5-10 hours per piece.
💜💜💜!!!
Do you think you could use this white wash and wax for kitchen counter tops? And if so, would the wax be enough to seal it, or would I put something else over it?
It is so beautiful! Did you do all the pieces in your bedroom? If yes please show us!
Just finished my nightstands. Check out the video. czcams.com/video/Znhmoyvea3A/video.html The bed frame is next. I’ll be painting that.
I really like your videos, they are so helpful. I was wondering if you could post the info on where to get the respirator that you have. I'm not sure which one it is on Amazon. Thank you, Rhonda
3M Multi-Purpose Respirator- amzn.to/2T8AlsB
Thanks for watching!
Looks great! Do you think the wash and wax would work on new unfinished knotty pine doors? I want to see the grain and knots and have a gray color, and kill the yellow wood color at same time.
Yes, I think that would look great.
Love how this turned out! I really liked the color before the white wash and wax, too! If I wanted to stop before the white wash and wax, what would you recommend using to seal the piece? Thx!
You can seal it with a clear wax and it won't add any additional color.
General Finishes High Performance. I like Flat but it comes in Satin and Gloss, too.
That is so pretty. I have a bedroom set that I want to do that same look. But I’m scared. Do you think I can send you pictures of the pieces? I so hope you really. I love DIY projects.
Me too. I have some time to get my "method" together.
I love the washed finish. I am thinking of trying this on a bookcase I am working on. But I m stumped how to give pizzazz to a plain bookcase.
I’ve seen people pit wall paper on the back of the book case. I’m thinking of trying that.
Hi Christina! Do you think this could be done on oak stained hollow core doors? I’m wanting to turn my pocket doors into barn doors, and would love this color!
As long as you think they are real wood, it should work.
It turned out beautiful! I wish my husband would get on the weathered furniture train 😆. I just got him away from the 1980s cherry colored wood...our new (and current) furniture is the color of your original piece. What color is the paint on your walls?
Thank you! Builder picked the paint. I’ll check for you!
Christina Muscari it’s such a pretty color. I think I may know what color it is (sherwin williams sea salt), but your room it looks more green (which I like) than blue I’ve seen in other rooms .
I know my husband he loves dark furniture don't know why but I love the look of the weathered gray.
I commented on another video already but I’m needing to establish this similar look, but I’m antique white, and without all the chemicals, sanding and time. I have a special needs son this is home full time with me and he has seizures so I need to be able to do this quickly. Or quick as possible. I’m having a set of tables made and just can’t swing a new entertainment center so I’m trying to make the one I have, match as best I can. What is your go to quick techniques to do that with a piece that is identical in color/stain to the one you started with here. ?
I meant grey white wash without replacing the cabinets. Could I use the grey wax?
I want this look. I am started with a honey oak table. should I strip and stain darker and then white and gray dixiebelle?
No, I would just strip and then do the gray wax. I don't think you will need the white wash.
I’m new to this so forgive my ignorance 😂. What can you do if you gauge the veneer? Is staining out of the picture?
Pretty much. Particle board doesn't really take stain. You can paint it though
I have a question, couldn't you just have painted it without sanding? I have my bed that I want to paint but I don't know if just adding a primer and paint or to remove all the finish like you did here.
So did you end up white washing the whole thing then using the grey wax?
Yes.
How could I do this more easily on some cabinets from the 1970’s? I don’t want to paint them. I would like to put a grey white wash workout replacing them.
Hello,i have a Question, Can i paint during the raining days?
Yes, you can but humidity will slow down dry time.
It looks great. If you used chalk paint, why did you strip it & risk the veneer? Look like lot of extra work to me.
Thank you! I wanted a weathered wood finish so the stripping was needed to expose the grain of the wood.
Next time you should let the citrus strip sit overnight and cover with surround wrap..I did it on project and it come off like a glove..
I've done that too. It definitely works better.
What’s the color of your green on walls?
It's Sherwin Williams Sea Salt SW6204
Your so cute😍
