I had 3 versions of Shottas. A raw uncut VHS tape, a terribly edited bootleg DVD, and the big production DVD with bonuses. I still have the DVDs. That movie is really old, you only knew about it in the hood. It's a definite hood classic! Take da what and left da what!😂 I love it! And Mad Max was a beast!

No gangster film been made since "Shottas" and "Belly" that's equal in quality or with as unforgettable characters ...or with better soundtrack.
I enjoyed Shottas much more than Belly. I liked the soundtrack though.

this movie unfortunately did not serve as an example to other jamaican filmmakers to make excellent production like Shottas. The films coming out of Jamaica after Shottas continued in mediocrity!!

Everyone hyped up that movie so much, I thought it was going to be one of the best things I would ever see. I barely remember anything about it besides Ky-Mani Marley switching his accent throughout the movie. I don’t even think I watched it to the end.

I always found the characters in Shootas to be incredibly unlikable. Basically just a glorification of thugs. Screwface from Marked For Death actually had some personality. The Marley and Spragga characters were nothing but thugs.
