I added a 12v external battery to mine because it was eating the AA's. now that could be due to the firmware needing to be updated or due to the >25% cell signal or having the setting transmitting every activation. The main problem I have with spy point is their very poor customer service. I have 4 of the link micro cameras and 2 no longer work because they are 2g and one of them flooded.
Cool video man I was hoping someone would review this unit. Have you tried any external power sources to make it last longer? The solar micro was hit or miss with me getting enough sunlight and I plan to deploy cameras way farther away than I’d be willing to drive to regularly. So I’m looking for a reliable power source. Either the spypoint factory option or something else. Would love your thoughts. Good luck this season.
I have not looked into any of that. I will say that the battery definitely seems to drain faster on this than my Micro did, however I didn’t put lithium ion batteries in this one
I’m currently swapping out my Link Micro Solar’s for the Flex’s. I have 1 in the field right now with a solar panel I got off Amazon for $60. Has built in lithium battery so no batteries needed in the camera. No problems so far. I like that the Flex has remote firmware updates. The camera on the Flex blows the micro’s away. Only $99 on Amazon right now.
@@cuyunamike I recently purchased the Flex and I'm not happy with it. My battery life wrnt down 25% over night in the OFF position go figure. Then when I got to the property cut the camera on I noticed I lost the 25% and by the time I got to the tree of where I was hanging it(5 minute walk) I lost another 4%. So on new batteries the night before at 100% to the next day when I cut it on it battery life at 71%. Also the night pictures are no better than the ones fron the micro camera. It also took forever to update. It kept canceling out. Almost forgot the 2 sim cards, that's if your not getting a good signal from 1 carrier it will switch to the other. That's a joke, I put the Flex less than 30 yards from 1 of my micro and the Flex is showing 25% for a signal. That's CRAP it's CRAP. Your better off with a micro. It's going back don't want it. I don't have time getting the runaround from support.
@@t-bonemathieu9949 The solar panel is sold by winghome on Amazon for 59.99. I have 3 of them in use now. They have an internal lithium battery that you charge before putting out with your camera. I have AA batteries in 2 of the cameras for backup. I have one spypoint Lit-22 rechargeable battery in one of the cameras for backup power. Let me know if u have more questions.
So honestly I have lithium ion ones in and they died a lot faster than my micro. Since setting it in august they are at 3% now so almost dead. I think part of it might be that I have it in an area where it gets very poor signal so it has to work harder to send the pictures. I’ll have to test it out in an area with better service next to my micro to really make a fair comparison.
@@JacksonBaumgartOutdoors okay thank you for you response. Is energizer the only brand that makes disposable lithium batteries? I just bought Duracell Alkaline ones. Putting it out this weekend in a very poor signal area. We’ll see how it goes 🤷♂️
No you don’t have to use video. I don’t because it uses more photos up from your plan. Honestly I have a micro also and wouldn’t say it’s worth double the price. I’d rather have 2 SPYPOINTs opposed to 1 flex
@@JacksonBaumgartOutdoors yes I've got 2 of the spypoint micro and like them I just hate they're 10MP. They have the Flex on sell here for $109 and being 33MP I thought I would try one but they also have the micro LTE for $79. I can't decide. Lol! Thanks

I’ve heard bad things about the micros but mine works great
It's flexin
Just wondering how does it connect to Wi-Fi if it’s nowhere around a Wi-Fi signal out in the middle of the woods
Doesn’t use WiFi. Cellular signal
Love my FLEX have 4 other spypoint cameras but I will be replacing them with this model.....
The SPYPOINT micro still works good enough!
great video , thank's

i have a wing home solar panel on mine and its been out for 6 months now an still fully charged
I've got the micros and been debating of getting anot&er one or the flex. Is the flex worth it? Enjoyed the video.
Honestly the micros suffice just fine. The flex is nice, but for the price I'd rather have 2 micros than 1 flex personally.

How’s that flex working for you so far? My flex sucks
Drains battery a lot more than my micro, but otherwise works fine.
