He was born in Orange County, California. His skin color is dark brown, or black. He has Mexican culture with Latin and African and Indigenous roots. He's a Black Chicano.
Afro-Mexican is still “black” in the US though. Black doesn't just refer to the culture over here it just means those with significant African descent. He’s not African American obviously but that distinction doesn’t make him not black technically. Bro genetic makeup is for sure predominantly African even if he’s viewed as “mixed” outside the US like how Dominicans view themselves. Either way Mexican is an ethnicity and nationality but there’s still a spectrum in Mexico as far as race goes. He seems to know that but is also saying his race is not black at the same time and just Latino. If anything he's both.
Yeah I don't wanna be labeled as black, black people don't know their own history they think it started on plantation, ignoring the fact that Africa has rich history. Look at every other civilization blacks were the only ones who didn't have a problem selling off their own
Afro-mexicans are "zambo" which is a racial category similar to mulatto(Caribbean people, white and black mix) but with Indigenous ancestry. Afro-mexicans aren't "african" in that sense of cultural backgrounds, they are more Indigenous. Drex family is originally from Guerrero which is 10% afro, states like Guerrero, Veracruz, and a northern border state are where most black mexicans come from exuding Haitians, black cubans, and african migrants

To be real, Mexicans dont look at color as a deal as many other people. Most Mexicans would look at the character or personality than color. Many ppl dont know that Mexico back in the day dissolved slavery when Mexico declared independence from Spain. This happened back in the 1800s. In fact many slaves who escaped from U.S. slavery found freedom past the boarders into parts of Texas and down into Mexico. thats why in part that U.S. fought against Mexico bc of issues of slavery to those new states like Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, California, Nevada, Colorado were forming and pro slavery groups wanted to balance with non slavery U.S. states so that the issue stated even by state governments back in the 1800s. Mexico has a lot of afro black decendents communities through its country. 🇲🇽❤👍🏻🇲🇽
Technically, despite slavery being a thing, there was still a process for freeing slaves back then, called manumision, so there's a debate about the freed population within The Empire since by the early 1800s, theres significant populations of freed people throughout LatAm, like Yungas in Veracruz being a Spanish recognized freed city in the mid 1500s
My homie from Guerrero and he’s got that authentic Mexican look dark Aztec look but he told me there’s towns full of so called black Mexicans that are like 2 shades darker than bro
Color identity is more of a American thing anywhere around Latino America From North to South America u identify as the country u are from not the color. It’s hard for Americans to grasp for some reason. For instance if u are Cuban and Black Eres Cuban and that’s it coño😅
@@MalitoSCshows u know little if a so-called caste system like India existed tell me was it traditionally Native or influenced by Spain? Mexican is not an ethnicity. Most Mexicans are mix race mestizos. However there’s plenty of unmixed Europeans, indigenous and Asians.

This a damn lie, colorism is real in Mexico. It wasn't until 2020 that the government included black Mexicans in the country's census.
Not many folks know this here in the U.S. say it loud for the ppl in the back ! 🇲🇽🇺🇸
Facts that’s why I’m certain parts of Cali and Texas were locked in with eachother mainly the bay ,LA be racist sometimes depending on the part
