I have one of these and the cowling doesn’t let you see the position of the outboards which is essential for docking and backing up. I contacted Pursuit and they basically told me it is what it is. Won’t be buying another one.

Are you talking about the trim position or steering position of outboards? Trim has indicators on displays , and there should be a steering indicator as well. If not use the wheel and put it all way over to one side count rotations of wheel till you get to other side and divide by 2 to find center . Enjoy the boat !

@@SeanSchlesinger The steering position! There isn’t a steering position indicator on the boat. I was hoping that there was a possibility the autopilot would have an integral steering position indicator built in, but it doesn’t. So, I rigged up an external truck to trailer backup camera mounted in front of the engines that is wireless and displays on the dashboard. It’s waterproof, 12 volt, and HD color with night vision so I can see the position all the time. It’s a good boat and we love it. The only other mechanical issue is the size of the bow thruster and that there is no stern thruster. The bow thruster is way too small for a boat this size. I replaced it with a higher horsepower unit but max is 98 pounds of force. The next step up requires changing out the tube to a larger diameter and that is not worth it. I have a friend who has a 33.5 foot Sea Ray and his has both with a ton of force which makes docking his boat a breeze even in strong wind and tide conditions. As a seasoned captain I can do it with the engines of course, but it certainly would be a lot easier with these already built in. Just say’n the devil is in the details!
